The study, by three economics researchers at the University of Texas, quantifies just how often the Electoral College will produce an “inversion” —
that is, an election where one candidate wins the popular vote but the other walks away with the presidency.
This Republican advantage can shift elections where the Democrat was a fairly clear winner in the popular vote.
Only in one presidential election since 1988 did Republicans win the popular vote and that would be in 2004, when Bush's son George W. Bush beat John Kerry by a popular vote margin of under three points.

In close elections, Republicans are favored to win even when they lose the popular vote.
Republicans will win nearly one in six presidential races where they lose the popular vote by 3 points. |

Please quote my post again, and this time underline the part where I mentioned grapes, racism, family values, or Hollywood. Failing that, you could actually make an effort to refute my completely factual thesis regarding elections and the EC. Or, you could just throw some more turds at the screen and hope they cover up my post altogether. I'll check back later.  |
