Passenger dressed as a clown causes mass brawl on cruise ship, witnesses say

(CNN)A mass brawl broke out on a British cruise ship Friday morning, leaving several people injured and others confined to their cabins for the rest of their journey, according to eyewitnesses who spoke to CNN affiliate ITV news.

The P&O cruise ship Britannia was on the final leg of a cruise to Norway's fjords from Southampton, in southeast England, when the fracas broke out, ITV reported.

ITV's "Good Morning Britain" correspondent Richard Gaisford was on board the ship when the fight broke out. In a series of messages on Twitter, he said that heavy amounts of alcohol contributed to violence that started on the 16th floor restaurant on Thursday, when a passenger appeared dressed as a clown.

The passenger's attire apparently upset some of the guests, Gaisford said.

"One witness, part of a group involved in the trouble, explained to staff that things kicked off when another passenger appeared dressed as a clown," Gaisford said.

"This upset one of their party because they'd specifically booked a cruise with no fancy dress. It led to a violent confrontation."

In the United Kingdom, fancy dress means wearing a costume.

"There was blood everywhere," Gaisford wrote. "Passengers used furniture and plates as weapons. Witnesses told me they were so frightened they had to hide as family groups fought," Gaisford added.

Police told ITV that three men and three women were assaulted during the fight and that there were a number of injuries including cuts and bruises.

Those believed to have been involved in the fight were confined to their cabin for the last day of the cruise, ITV reported.

Hampshire Police told CNN on Sunday that a man and woman arrested on suspicion of assault in connection to the brawl have not been charged and were released from custody -- but remain under investigation.

In a statement, a P&O Cruises spokesman told CNN on Sunday: "Following an incident on board Britannia on Thursday evening we can confirm that all guests disembarked yesterday and the matter is now in the hands of the local police."

He added that the cruise line does not tolerate disruptive behavior.

But when it comes to mustard?

The line-up of "musts" becomes a little less urgent. That's likely because the zingy, sandwich-enhancing, yellow-bright condiment has become such a staple in our refrigerator, the delicious denizen residing inside millions of refrigerator doors.

Hold up, though: Mustard is about to have its "must-try, must-have" moment, with the incredibly intriguing debut of mustard ice cream.

Mustard. Ice cream. If you need a few more minutes to mull that one over, that's perfectly understandable.

Take your time.

This cold, lickable, limited-time treat is coming at us thanks to a partnership between French's, the longtime condiment king, and Coolhaus, SoCal-based maker of fancy frosty goodies.

Complementing that serving of mustard ice cream? A pretzel cookie, of course. Because everyone knows pretzels and mustard are like the PB&J pair-up of savory snacking.

Don't look in your refrigerator door for this unusual sweet, however; you'll need to head to Culver City, and Coolhaus, from Aug. 2-4, 2019 and again from Aug. 9-11.

And, yes, Aug. 3 is in fact National Mustard Day, making this condiment-themed confection especially strong in the timing department.

Hot Property? Realtor Uses House Fire Photo To List St. Pete Home

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A Zillow listing posted on Tuesday is getting hot for all the wrong reasons.

The fire happened about 9 months ago; house condemned

Photo and $99,000 price has grabbed attention on social media

It features a photo of a St. Petersburg home engulfed in flames for the sale price of $99,000, with a caption that reads "bring your smores (sic) to the campfire and build your dream home!"  

"It's a smoking hot deal posted to the internet and people liked it," said Realtor Dylan Jaeck. "That's going to obviously grab your attention."

Jaeck said he decided to use the house fire photo in his listing for two reasons, to get attention and so that potential buyers realize the house has to be demolished.

"The reason why we put the fire picture up is so you know that this property has to be torn down and you can build a new dream spec home," he said. "It's creative marketing. It's a niche. I got people talking."

The lot is located at 742 Southwest Blvd. N. in St. Petersburg. The listing calls it a quiet area with a lot of expensive homes in the neighborhood.

John Welch, 60, lives next to the lot for sale and said he took the picture of the house on fire that's featured on Zillow.

"My nephew called me this morning and said your picture's in the paper and I go 'what,'" he said. "I think it's great."

Welch said the home caught on fire about nine months ago and has since been condemned. Jaeck said he has been in real estate for about five years and has never seen a house fire used to list a property and has gotten some negative feedback from other agents.

"Some Realtors and even some brokers tried to think that it's looking like it's very unprofessional, that I would post someone's house that's on fire," he said. "But on the neutral side of it, people are thinking hey, he's smart... and potentially it could bring me a buyer."
