Establishment Freaking Over What McCarthy Vowed to Do With Jan. 6 Tapes Nancy-pelosi-kevin-mccarthy-split-pic

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is not bothered by criticism from Democrats and the mainstream media after he released over 40,000 hours of unseen footage from the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

During an interview with Breitbart News, the California Republican is now promising to release the Jan. 6 security footage to the general public. McCarthy said his team will need to review all of the footage to address any security concerns before they release it all.

“We just want to make sure we go through them all, and it takes time,” McCarthy said. “The first thing that Tucker said too, he didn’t want to show any exits to cause any problems. We asked the Capitol Police, ‘Were there any concerns?’ They came back with one, and we mitigated that, but it was interesting, that one that they had a problem with, Eric Swalwell had had up on the internet for the last two years showing that part.”

“Well, this is all about transparency. I think it’s better for transparency that anyone can make their own decision, and as we walk through these, these are many more hours of tapes than the January 6 committee told us. It’s not 14,000. It’s 42,000 hours. We want to make sure for security purposes our certain exits aren’t shown and others. But you know the most interesting thing, when I had the team talk to the Capitol Police about making sure they had no problems with the exit and so on, they said January 6 never asked them that. They showed the exit of the vice president,” he added.

“They showed me the exit from my office. They literally had then-Speaker Pelosi’s daughter showing the secure location where they take the leadership. That’s not supposed to be known to anybody, and CNN reported it, and I don’t remember the press ever getting upset with that. So what we want to do is make sure we have this out that everybody can see it,” he continued.

WATCH:

Carlson has been airing new footage in recent days on his Fox News program from Jan. 6, 2021.

The chief of the U.S. Capitol Police issued a memo to his staff on Tuesday following the airing of previously unseen security footage by Carlson, which showed police officers appearing to stand passively as a large crowd entered the Capitol that day.

Police Chief Tom Manger condemned the comments made during the airing of the footage on Carlson’s Monday night program, stating that it was “filled with offensive and misleading conclusions” about the riot of January 6, 2021, when a group of people breached the U.S. Capitol building, causing disruptions to lawmakers who were in the process of certifying President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.

“The program conveniently cherry-picked from the calmer moments of our 41,000 hours of video,” Manger claimed. “The commentary fails to provide context about the chaos and violence that happened before or during these less tense moments.”

Manger specifically objected to a segment that featured Capitol Police officers guiding Jacob Chansley, also known as the “QAnon Shaman,” through the Capitol building and Carlson’s portrayal of them as “tour guides.”

He also expressed concern about Carlson’s emphasis on Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, who a medical examiner found had died of natural causes after suffering a stroke a day after the January 6 incident while protecting the Capitol, the Daily Wire reported.

The New York Times initially reported on January 8 that Sicknick was killed by a rioter wielding a fire extinguisher during the riot. However, the paper retracted the story five weeks later after the D.C. medical examiner stated that Sicknick had died of natural causes a day after the event. Other outlets also erroneously reported that Sicknick was beaten to death.

Nonetheless, both Sicknick’s family and the police believe that his death was related to the riot.

Video of Sicknick appearing to lead people out of the Capitol building after “he was supposedly murdered outside overturns the single-most powerful and politically useful lie the Democrats have told us about January 6,” Carlson noted.

Manger noted that Capitol Police “maintains, as anyone with common sense would, that had Officer Sicknick not fought valiantly for hours on the day he was violently assaulted, Officer Sicknick would not have died the next day.”

In his memo, Manger thanked and praised members of the Capitol Police force, commending their efforts on January 6. “You fought like hell on January 6 and risked your lives to protect the Constitution and everything this country stands for,” he wrote. “You, along with our law enforcement partners, saved every member of Congress and their staff.”

Carlson was provided access to some 40,000 hours of previously unseen surveillance video by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Ky.), a move that was criticized by Democrats and some Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

“It was a mistake in my view for Fox News to depict this in a way that is completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks,” McConnell said on Tuesday, according to USA Today.

Ex-Trump Lawyer Files $67 Million Lawsuit Against Former Jan. 6 Committee
Jon Dougherty, May 23, 2023

Stefan Passantino, a lawyer from Washington, D.C., who provided representation for ex-White House staffer Cassidy Hutchinson during her testimony before the Jan. 6 House Select Committee, has filed a lawsuit against the committee, accusing it of damaging his professional reputation and causing harm to his career.

Passantino submitted a Federal Tort Claims Act Complaint amounting to $67 million against the congressional panel, alleging that the committee deliberately created and propagated a false narrative about him, intentionally interfered with his attorney-client relationship, and neglected his civil rights to advance a political agenda targeting former President Donald Trump.

“Liz Cheney and her collaborators on the January 6th Committee decided to peddle a false tale about Mr. Passantino and his relationship with his client without any regard for the truth or whether they were destroying the reputation of a good man; a reputation built over decades,” Passantino’s attorney, Jesse Binnall, said in a statement.

Per the complaint, the committee is accused of engaging in unauthorized communications with Hutchinson, without the knowledge or consent of Passantino, thus violating the sanctity of the attorney-client relationship. The complaint further alleges that these communications contributed to the creation of a “false narrative” that was then propagated to news outlets by a lawmaker or congressional staff member acting “outside of the scope of their legislative function.”

Hutchinson, who worked as an assistant to Mark Meadows during his tenure as Trump’s last White House chief of staff, emerged as the central witness for the Jan. 6 Committee. During her testimony, she alleged that Trump had attempted to commandeer the presidential limousine to drive himself to the election protests.

However, several of her claims, which were based on third-party discussions, were quickly discredited when her sources publicly denied her account of the events, the news outlet reported further.

Shortly before Hutchinson provided her explosive testimony, she made a switch in legal representation. Prior to her appearance at the televised hearing, Passantino, a former deputy counsel for the White House, had been advising her throughout the process, which involved three private depositions before the committee.

According to the complaint, after Hutchinson’s second deposition, she began collaborating with members of the Jan. 6 Committee without Passantino’s awareness.

“The Committee, through a backchannel directly to Mr. Passantino’s client, in total disregard for the attorney-client relationship, convinced Mr. Passantino’s client to sit for additional interviews and give incredible testimony that could then be peddled by national news media friendly to the Committee to damage Mr. Passantino,” the complaint says, according to Newsmax.

That passage appears to be citing articles such as one published by CNN in December under the headline, “Cassidy Hutchinson told the January 6 committee she felt pressure from Trump allies not to talk and instead risk ‘contempt.'”

According to the article, which refers to transcripts of Hutchinson’s subsequent discussion with the committee in September, Hutchinson believed that she had no choice but to enlist Passantino’s services as her attorney because she could not afford the rates quoted by other legal professionals.

Passantino claims that he was not told of the September meeting that took place between the committee and Hutchinson.

Hutchinson was first introduced to Passantino when she reached out to Trump’s Save America PAC for assistance in securing legal representation after receiving her initial subpoena from the House. Following his tenure as a White House deputy counsel, Passantino resumed private practice and went on to represent several witnesses before the Jan. 6 committee, including Hutchinson.

“Ms. Hutchinson never told Passantino that she wanted a ‘non-Trump’ lawyer or that she had any sensitivity about Mr. Passantino’s previous work in the Trump White House,” the complaint notes further. “She did not express reservations to Mr. Passantino about him being paid by a Trump-related PAC; instead, she had solicited that funding herself.”

The complaint further highlights that the Jan. 6 committee did not reach out to Passantino for an interview or to seek his response to the accusations leveled against him.

The complaint alleges that the negative media coverage has severely damaged Passantino’s legal career, which spans three decades, and forced him to take a leave of absence.

“This is all a result of the Committee’s unjustifiable, outrageous, and malicious leaks of private information and interference in Mr. Passantino’s representation of his clients,” says the complaint.

Newsmax noted if Congress doesn’t respond within six months, Passantino can file his lawsuit in a federal court.

NEW: Jan 6 Committee Presented Footage With Doctored Audio During Primetime Hearings
By Cullen McCue, June 3, 2023

Just The News reporter John Solomon on Friday released unedited January 6 footage that proves the January 6 Select Committee presented footage with doctored audio.

In a video presented during a Congressional hearing, rioters can be seen breaking windows and entering the Capitol building during the January 6 election protests in 2021. In the committee’s footage, people can be heard shouting “go, go, go” overlayed over sounds of windows breaking and loud bangs.

The footage also contained the voice of a Capitol Police officer yelling, “We have a breach in the Capitol!”

Solomon — who was one of three journalists granted access to the footage by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) last week — shared the unedited footage for the first time on Friday. It turns out the uncut footage was completely silent with none of the sounds added in by the committee’s production team.

“That footage was thrown in there to create a dramatic, movie-like effect. It’s no longer evidence now,” Solomon said. “It’s now been turned into, a little bit of propaganda. It’s one thing if they told the public that they did it, but they don’t.”

The committee also doctored the audio on an overhead shot detailing the initial breach of Capitol Police lines in front of the building. Like the CCTV footage from inside the building, the footage was altered to include sounds of a loud, angry mob.

The latest footage release details some of the work done by former ABC News producer James Goldston, who was hired by the committee to spice up the footage for primetime hearings. Goldston was tapped as a “secret adviser” to help convert documents, audio recordings, and video surrounding the day’s events into compelling television.

The hearings were billed as a “blockbuster investigative special,” Axios reported.

Earlier this week, Solomon released footage that showed then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) nonchalantly evacuating the building as her daughter, a documentary filmmaker, recorded for dramatic effect. Additional footage is expected to be released by Solomon and other reporters, including Julie Kelly of American Greatness.

I think the leftists and democrats raised such a stink about McCarthy giving Tucker Carlson all the footage that they (probably Fox) stopped him from airing any more of it

Ironic/Hypocritical too, that they claimed the few minutes shown by Carlson to be "edited"

Democrats are corrupting every realm of the government and with the help and support of the media, are hard at work corrupting the citizenry ... Granted, republicans appear to be putting forth an effort to investigate and expose the lies and corruption of the government, but even if they succeed, the democrats will continue about their business of lies, corruption, and propaganda.... They have a foothold cemented deeply into the govt, the media, law enforcement, the military, hollywood, the citizens, etc..and will never be held accountable for anything they've done or will do ..
