The president’s hotel will soon have a new owner and it likely won’t be so Trump friendly any more.

Donald Trump’s hotel in Washington, D.C., went up for sale this month, with bids to take up the president’s 60-year lease on the federally owned Old Post Office due last Thursday.

But while the winning bidder’s plans for the hotel likely won’t be known for a while, MAGA activists are already mourning the expected loss of what has become the capital’s social center for Trumpism.

“It’s the place to see and be seen when you’re in D.C.,” said Jacob Engels, a conservative political operative and protégé of former Trump adviser Roger Stone.

“What will happen to the MAGA Networking and Social Scene in Washington DC then?” Goldman wrote. “There’s nothing like the Trump Hotel. Nor will many places be as accommodating.”

And yet, through it all, the hotel has still struggled to fill its rooms.
In November, the Post reported the Trump International had only filled roughly half of its rooms throughout the year and lagged behind competing hotels in its occupancy rate, according to financial documents provided to potential buyers.

Maybe it will be more Trump friendly. You nor anyone else have a clue who could purchase it.

Maybe this guy...

DC developer interested in buying Trump's hotel
BY RACHEL FRAZIN - 01/03/20 12:18 PM EST 117

A developer based in Washington, D.C., plans to place a bid for the lease on the Trump International Hotel in the city after it was announced that the Trump Organization was considering its sale.

Real estate investor and developer Brian Friedman told The Washington Post that he would want to partner with Hilton to make the building into a Waldorf Astoria or with the Hong Kong-based chain Rosewood.

Friedman said that the hotel was underperforming and that it was smart of the president to try to sell his stake in it.

“I think he has to sell before he gets out of office, because it’s not going to get better — it’s going to get worse,” Friedman told the Post.

The hotel's 121-year-old building is owned by the federal government but leased to the Trump Organization. It is located blocks from the White House.

Democrats and watchdog groups have raised questions about whether President Trump was profiting from the hotel and other Trump-brand properties while in the White House. The D.C. hotel opened just before Election Day in 2016.

According to the Post, the lease's sale is subject to federal government approval.

I think trump needs the money..
His lawyers gotta be draining mega millions
and
it has just begun..
After his presidency, NY, has a pile of charges to imprison him.
He's going to need heavy lawyer power, and that's high millions.
and !!

perhaps Russia is calling in his personal loan, Putin wants his money!

trump owes Saudis huge $$ too ..

trump was living off Russia and Saudi money for a few years.
