| Sen. Thune: Everything Was Fine Until Pelosi Demanded Radical Policies Be Added to the Relief BillSteve Straub By Steve Straub Published March 23, 2020 at 11:42am Today during a speech on the Senate Floor Senator Thune slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for wrecking what had been bi-partisan agreement on relief for the American people because of the coronavirus crisis. Thune started off by saying “Mr. President, I think we all know what’s happening here. As the Leader pointed out in his opening remarks, everything was going really quite well.” “There were a lot of working groups that were meeting. There was great bipartisan cooperation,” he added. “Both sides were getting ideas included in a plan. And then yesterday, the Speaker of the House showed up with an agenda, and all of a sudden it got taken over at the leadership level.” “So now, instead of talking about helping workers, we’re talking about the Green New Deal and all kinds of other things, demands that the unions and other special interest groups want to see in this deal.” More at: https://thefederalistpapers.org/us/sen-thune-everything-fine-pelosi-demanded-radical-policies-added-relief-bill |

| That is in response to the economic crisis created by the coronavirus epidemic. They are non-coronavirus-related demands. republicans & democrats agree on the covid19 needs etc..
The Republicans would do the same if not more, when it comes to $$$ they have actually.. they will work it out.. Derms want to know where and who the billions will go to that's a reasonable request.
This is why; ‘I’ll be the oversight’: Trump vows he will personally oversee $500 billion coronavirus slush fund

| Nancy Pelosi Signals Surrender on Relief Bill Just a Day After Going Full Leroy JenkinsPosted at 11:15 am on March 24, 2020 by Bonchie Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., makes a statement about a coronavirus aid package, on Capitol Hill in Washington, Friday, March 13, 2020. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite) If this is true, it’s welcome news. Nancy Pelosi, just a day after going full Leroy Jenkins on the negotiations over the Wuhan virus relief bill, is now signaling that the House will pass whatever the Senate sends them. This follows Chuck Schumer reversing course last night and announcing he expects a deal done today as well. Jamie Dupree @jamiedupree Judging from the Pelosi interview on CNBC, she's sending a message to House members - whatever the Senate passes is what should pass the House right away 8:03 AM - Mar 24, 2020 Deirdre Walsh @deirdrekwalsh .@SpeakerPelosi on CNBC says admin agreed to oversight of Treasury $500 b fund to help impacted industries which she says is “big change” - “I’m optimistic” says bill more “worker oriented” 7:41 AM - Mar 24, 2020 That’s Pelosi looking for cover. There was no “big change” because there was already oversight. The Democrat talking points were false. I suspect that Pelosi’s machinations Sunday and yesterday were a bone being thrown to her mostly far-left caucus. That should not be taken as a defense of Pelosi herself, as she’s just as crazy and wanting of all the garbage she proposed as anyone else, but she probably realizes this is going to kill her party. New polling has shown good marks for the President’s handling of the crisis and even the mainstream media have had a hard time spinning the Democrat obstruction efforts (though the Times tried their best). This package needs to be passed now. This is not bailing out companies who made bad loans. It’s keeping the economy going due to the damage caused directly by government decisions. That’s not to say those decisions to shut everything down were wrong, but it is to say that the consequences have been out of the hands of American companies and families. They need help or we are going to sink into a depression. Regardless, the damage Pelosi and the Democrats caused, including another large dip in the stock market, can not be forgotten. They don’t get to handwave this away by caving a few days later. Democrats chose to play politics with people’s lives and the price should be severe in November. https://www.redstate.com/bonchie/2020/03/24/nancy-pelosi-signals-surrender-on-relief-bill-just-a-day-after-going-full-leroy-jenkins/ |

| Nancy Pelosi’s Coronavirus Bill Gives $300 Million To Refugees, Migrants JUSTIN CARUSO CONTRIBUTOR March 24, 2020 11:36 AM ET
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s plan to assist Americans amid the coronavirus pandemic includes $300,000,000 for migrants and refugees.
Tucked into page 148 of the roughly 1,400-page bill, the stipulation allocates “an additional amount for ‘Migration and Refugee Assistance’, $300,000,000, to remain available until expended, for necessary expenses to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus.”
Lawmakers in the House and Senate have been going back and forth over different coronavirus relief plans in recent days.
Tensions boiled over Monday when Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell ripped into Democrats on the Senate floor for trying to use the coronavirus relief plans to fund seemingly unrelated initiatives.
“Tax credits for solar energy and wind energy. Provisions to force employers to give special new treatment to Big Labor. And listen to this — new emissions standards for the airlines. Are you kidding me?” McConnell said.
President Donald Trump is also not happy with the lack of progress, tweeting Tuesday, “This is not about the ridiculous Green New Deal. It is about putting our great workers and companies BACK TO WORK!” |

| The BI-PARTISAN Senate bill wasn't skewed in favor of large corporations and industries instead of individual American workers.
Keep in mind that large corporations and industries employ what - 100 million individual American workers???
If the big companies are left fail, you'd have a depression greater than 1929, and total anarchy.

Trump praises stimulus bill funding for the Kennedy Center that the Republican Party trashed hours earlier
President Donald Trump praised funding for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts that was put in the stimulus bill. It flies in the face of the Republican Party’s attacks on the funding measure, and accusations that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was pushing her own pet projects into being funded.
The Kennedy Center does get federal funding as the largest public theater in Washington, D.C. and the budgets and laws for the District of Columbia must be approved by Congress. The construction of the Kennedy Center was also funded by Congress in 1958. Congress continues to fund the maintenance expenses of the building whole other grants and donations fund projects, though the center is considered a federal entity.
Politico’s Jake Sherman noted that both Democrats and Republicans put funding for it in their respective bills. ... Kevin McCarthy
@GOPLeader Democrats' behavior is a national disgrace. They are blocking aid for sick people and unemployed workers over Pelosi's ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????? demands: • Limits on ICE and Border Patrol • Regulations from Green New Deal • Disclosures for “corporate board diversity”
Greta Van Susteren
@greta I wanted a coronavirus bill passed even if it was far from perfect ..but I also want to know, whose idea was it to earmark 35 million dollars to the Kennedy Center (a performing arts center in DC?) or is that not really in the bill? Once it passes, lets have names..#transparency
Karen Tumulty
@ktumulty People on Twitter don't seem to know that the Kennedy Center is a federal entity under congressional supervision. Its employees are federal workers. With no money coming in from performances, they can't get paid without an appropriation. https://www.federalpay.org/employees/john-f-kennedy-ctr-for-the-perform-arts/top-100 …
But when asked about it on Wednesday, Trump explained he’s in full support.
“The Kennedy Center has suffered greatly because nobody can go there,” President Trump says when asked about the funding for Kennedy Center. “You gotta give them something … the Democrats have treated us fairly.”
Republican staffers will likely rush to Twitter and Facebook to delete their attacks soon. ((delete your post, Obi- hurry!))) fox and you reporting FAKE NEWS!!!

Congratulations to the lobbyists who got provisions related to the Sunscreen Innovation Act tucked into page 470 of the emergency coronavirus bill.
Tucked in the final bill is language ensuring that the FDA reviews newer and more novel ingredients for over-the-counter sunscreen products in a timely fashion.
A provision for the FDA to approve ‘innovative’ sunscreens — that happen to be made in Florence, Kentucky, by L’Oreal — appeared in the bill, which was steered in the Senate by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky,”

Kennedy Center Lays Off Musicians Hours After $25 Million Handout in Pelosi Stimulus Bill
https://pjmedia.com/trending/kennedy-center-lays-off-musicians-hours-after-stimulus-bill-gave-it-25-million/ The Kennedy Center apparently did not interpret that $25 million as extending to the National Symphony Orchestra
The president of the Kennedy Center, Deborah Rutter, told The Washington Post that without concerts and ticket revenue, they cannot continue to pay musicians to stay home.
She also said $25 million would provide cash flow for essential personnel to ensure the center can reopen and bring staffers and musicians back to work.
( Them not getting paid is on the president of the Kennedy Center, Deborah Rutter, not the Democrats or bill money.. |

| Trump openly admitting if we made voting easier in America, Republicans wouldn't win elections
Associated Press
In a Monday morning interview on "Fox & Friends," Trump said that congressional Republicans opposed expanding voting access in the coronavirus stimulus package because it would hurt them politically.
The House's version of the package would have required every state to hold early voting, establish no-excuse absentee voting, and mail out ballots in emergency situations.
"The things they had in there were crazy," Trump said. "They had levels of voting, that if you ever agreed to it you'd never have a Republican elected in this country again."
Not only do states with those provisions elect Republicans at every level, but evidence about non-voters doesn't support Trump's assertion that higher voter turnout would automatically benefit Democrats.
In a Monday morning interview on "Fox & Friends," President Donald Trump explicitly said that congressional Republicans opposed expanding voting access in the coronavirus stimulus package because it would hurt them politically.
The stimulus package presented by the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives included several provisions that would require states to expand options for voters to safely cast ballots.
The bill would have mandated that states offer 15 days of early voting prior to every election, allow voters to request an absentee ballot without an excuse, and send a mail-in ballot to every voter in an emergency situation where holding in-person elections would be logistically unfeasible or dangerous.
But Republicans in Congress accused Democrats of using the crisis specifically to pass their own pet projects through Congress. Some, like GOP Congressman Thomas Massie, even argued the expanded voting access measures would be "the end of our Republic as we know it."
On "Fox & Friends," Trump went several steps further by directly suggesting that Republicans shot down those measures specifically because they would increase voter turnout and make it harder for the GOP to win elections.
here it is; To protect voters' rights, the bill would create:: Automatic voter registration, Expand early voting, Restore voting rights to felons who have completed their sentences, Pull back gerrymandering, Ban foreign money accessed through shell companies. The bill would designate Election Day as a federal holiday.

The bill also covers some anti-corruption efforts, including a requirement for presidents to release ten years of tax returns.

| Today;
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on Wednesday that President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) may have admitted that they “cannot handle the job” by blaming impeachment for the federal government’s slow reaction to COVID-19.
“I think that’s an admission that perhaps the president and the majority leader cannot handle the job,” Pelosi told CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “We have a life-and-death situation in our country, and they should not try to hide behind an excuse for why they did not take action.”
“But it does admit that they did not take action,” she noted.
