"I went to Tony Joe's house a couple days ago to interview him for an article for American Songwriter magazine. I'm usually not star-struck, but...after I got home, it was like, wow, I was just told the chords for Rainy Night in Georgia by the guy who wrote it. Talked about his buddies Clapton and Knopfler and McDonald and J.J. Cale and, of course, Polk Salad. We talked guitars, studios, radio, you name it. It was an absolutely outstanding afternoon with an absolutely outstanding, genuine talent."
