Twitter permanently bans Trump
The president’s preferred megaphone is gone

Twitter permanently banned President Donald Trump on Friday, days after a pro-Trump mob stormed the US Capitol leaving five dead.

“After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” Twitter said in a statement Friday.

The ban comes after the president incited a mob that broke into the US Capitol building, disrupting Congress’ certification of Joe Biden as the President Elect. Twitter initially put a 12-hour ban on Trump’s account for “repeated and severe violations of our Civic Integrity policy” after he posted messages repeating lies that the election was stolen.

At the time, Twitter said Trump would be banned permanently if he continued to violate its rules, including those around civic integrity or violent threats. Twitter said in a statement Friday that two new tweets posted since Trump’s initial suspension violated the platform’s rules, prompting the permanent suspension.

“Due to the ongoing tensions in the United States, and an uptick in the global conversation in regards to the people who violently stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, these two Tweets must be read in the context of broader events in the country and the ways in which the President’s statements can be mobilized by different audiences, including to incite violence, as well as in the context of the pattern of behavior from this account in recent weeks,” Twitter said in its Friday blog.

Twitter decided the new tweets were “highly likely to encourage and inspire people to replicate the criminal acts” at the Capitol, and shared its reasoning in five parts:

Earlier Friday, more than 300 Twitter employees signed onto an internal petition calling for Trump to be permanently banned following the January 6th Capitol riots.

“We must examine Twitter’s complicity in what President-Elect Biden has rightly termed insurrection. Those acts jeopardize the wellbeing of the United States, our company, and our employees,” the employees wrote in the letter.

On Thursday, Facebook put an “indefinite” ban on Trump that it said would last at least through Inauguration Day. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the risks “are simply too great” to allow Trump continued access after he used the platform to “incite violent insurrection against a democratically elected government.”

The suspension has been a long time coming. For years, Twitter has faced pressure to remove Trump from its platform due to the large megaphone it’s offered him to spread hateful language and lies.

The company justified his continued presence on the platform as being in the public interest.

Twitter disables Michael Flynn, Sidney Powell accounts for spreading QAnon content
'We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior
that has the potential to lead to offline harm,' a company spokesperson said.

Twitter disabled accounts belonging to allies of President Donald Trump for
spreading QAnon-related content, the company announced Friday,
as part of a move to banish all accounts dedicated to content related to
the violent conspiracy theory.

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and former Trump attorney
Sidney Powell both had their accounts suspended "in line with our policy on
Coordinated Harmful Activity," a Twitter spokesperson told POLITICO on Friday.

"We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that
has the potential to lead to offline harm, and given the renewed potential for
violence surrounding this type of behavior in the coming days,
we will permanently suspend accounts that are solely dedicated to
sharing QAnon content," the spokesperson said.

Both Flynn and Powell have promoted QAnon content on their social media,
and Powell's peddling of conspiracy theories led the Trump campaign to
distance itself from her during its challenges of the 2020 elections.

QAnon conspiracy theories involve a convoluted mythology of deep-state cabals
and satanic child abuse rings with no basis in reality.
The FBI has dubbed it and other similar conspiracy theories
a domestic terrorism threat.

‘Official’ Trump campaign account suspended --
after he tried to bypass his lifetime Twitter ban.

Donald Trump appears to be having a frustrating
night in the White House
as he keeps failing to circumvent his ban from Twitter.

On Friday, Twitter announced it was permanently
suspending Trump's account
because of his incitement of violence.

Conservatives freaked out over their
"new dystopian future" without their
leader being able to spread lies on the
social media platform.

So Trump attempted to tweet using his official,
government account @POTUS.
But Twitter deleted the tweets within 10 minutes.

Trump next tried to use his official campaign account,
@TeamTrump, but Twitter quickly
suspended the account.

Trump is working his way through the accounts
he has access to
and getting them suspended.

Trump has been silenced.
((((((He is Addicted to Twitter.
He is going through withdrawal, I'm sure.))))))

1-8-2021

Trump has spent nearly 10 full days as president doing nothing but tweeting.

Nearly three days of that time have been spent tweeting between the
hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on a weekday.

You’ll notice, though, that you can set your own estimates for how long Trump
spends on each type of tweet.

Maybe you think he takes that full 6½ minutes to put together each tweet.
If so, he’s spent nearly 63 days of his 1,200-or-so days in office doing
nothing but updating @realDonaldTrump.

If you think it takes him longer to retweet, perhaps because he’s searching out new
praise or new allegations to promote, the numbers get a lot bigger quite quickly.

Or perhaps you want to go in the other direction. Perhaps you think that Trump spends
only 10 seconds on an original tweet and that same one second on a retweet.
Even so, he’s spent more than a day and a half tweeting,
including about 12 hours during what constitutes normal work hours for normal people.

Donald Trump has sent almost 47K original tweets.

We do not count the RTs he makes, just the original tweets he has written and sent.
Donald Trump original tweets are 46,919tweets divided in:

30,572 text tweets: tweets containing only text (no link, no pic, etc.)
3,624 replies: tweets where he replies to other users (however, in this case,
he’s also replying to himself when creating threads)
12,906 links or images (some of these tweets are also replies,
so we don’t count them twice)

PostSubject: AP- Obituary: A Farewell To @realDonaldTrump    Twitter PERMANENTLY Bans Trump; Facebook INDEFINITE Ban on trump- EmptySat Jan 09, 2021 5:36 pm

1-9-2021
AP Obituary ;

A farewell to @realDonaldTrump, gone after 57,000 tweets

WASHINGTON (AP) — @realDonaldTrump, the Twitter feed that grew
from the random musings of a reality TV star into
the cudgel of an American president, has died.

The provocative handle was given birth by a New York real estate tycoon who used it to help him become the 45th U.S. president.

It died more than 57,000 tweets later, with Trump using some of his final postings on the powerful platform to commiserate with a pro-Trump mob that besieged the halls of Congress in a deadly assault as lawmakers were set to certify his defeat.

The account met its demise when Twitter announced Friday
it was pulling the plug permanently on @realDonaldTrump,
citing concern that Trump would use it for “further incitement
of violence.” Trump retorted that he’d be “building out our own
platform in the near future. We will not be SILENCED!”

Trump, a novice politician but seasoned salesman, realized the
power of social media in ways that few other politicians did.
And he wielded it with never-before-seen power to diminish
his opponents, shape elections and mold reality —
at least in the eyes of his supporters.

Early on, @realDonaldTrump seemed innocent enough.
Its owner, who had prolific experience in marketing casinos,
real estate and even Oreos, used the platform mostly to promote
his books, media appearances and give friendly plugs to friends.

But as Trump began seriously toying with a White House run,
it became a tool to scorch opponents and give shape to his nationalist, “America First” philosophy.

He deployed its venom equally, whether insulting celebrity enemies
(Rosie O’Donnell was “crude, rude, obnoxious and dumb”) or or using
xenophobia to malign a country
(Britain is “trying hard to disguise their massive Muslim problem”).

Peter Costanzo, then an online marketing director for the publishing company putting out Trump’s book,
“Think Like a Champion,” helped bring Trump to the platform.

Twitter was still in its infancy at the time. But Costanzo,
who later came to work for The Associated Press, saw the then-140-character-per-message platform as a new tool that
the real estate mogul could use to boost sales and reach a broader audience.

Costanzo was given seven minutes to make his pitch to Trump “Not five minutes, not 10,” he recalled in a 2016 interview.

Trump liked what he heard.

“I said, ‘Let’s call you @realDonaldTrump — you’re the real Donald Trump,’” recalled Costanzo. “He thought about it for
a minute and said: ‘I like it. Let’s do it.’”

Other than Trump’s family, no one seemed off limits from his Twitter wrath. Trump attacked Senate Republicans, Senate Democrats, 2016 political rivals, current administration staffers, former administration staffers, the Republican Party and cable networks.

@realDonaldTrump was prolific: On days when its owner was particularly agitated, such as in the midst of impeachment proceedings, it pushed out more than 100 tweets.

The account was used to announce firings.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson learned of his ouster in a tweet.

The account threatened adversaries in the most colorful terms. Before Trump “fell in love” with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un through secretly exchanged letters, Trump used Twitter to dub him “rocket man” and vowed to respond with “fire and fury” if the authoritarian dared attack the United States.

@realDonaldTrump frequently spread misleading, false and malicious assertions, such as the baseless ideas that protesters
at Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings were paid
by the liberal philanthropist George Soros and that November’s election
was beset by voter fraud.

Trump often tweeted well past midnight and before dawn, a cathartic outlet for grievances (Witch hunt! Crooked Hillary, Russia, Russia, Russia, FAKE NEWS, and so on.) For the most part, @realDonaldTrump and its 280-character posts effectively allowed Trump to work around the Washington media establishment and amplify the message of allies.

Sometimes @realDonaldTrump stumbled. Trump deleted 1,166 tweets and, in his final months on the platform, had 471 tweets flagged by Twitter for misinformation, according to Factba.se.

In one of his most memorable Twitter stumbles, Trump in May 2017 sent (and later deleted) a cryptic post-midnight tweet
that read “Despite the constant negative press covfefe.”

The gibberish set the Twitterverse afire with speculation.
Theories included that the tweeter-in-chief had fallen asleep mid-message and that the man who once bragged of having
“the best words” was adding a new word to the lexicon to properly describe collusion between Democrats and the press.

Sam Nunberg, a longtime — and now former — Trump adviser, said that in the summer of 2011, after Trump announced he wasn’t running in 2012 but wanted to remain relevant, his team decided
to start using social media to boost his profile.

They chose to focus on Twitter, where he already had an account and several hundred thousand followers. Nunberg remembers sending Trump daily reports on his follower growth.
Trump would sometimes hand it back with hand-written notes  “Why not more?” “Why so slow?”

They celebrated when they hit the million mark.

“Twitter definitely played a pivotal role in building Donald Trump as a political figure within Republican politics and he also greatly enjoyed it,”
said Nunberg. “Remember he used to say:
‘I wanted to own a newspaper. This is great, it’s like a newspaper without the losses.’”

Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., took to Twitter shortly after the platform banned @realDonaldTrump to note that it continues to allow
Iran’s supreme leader “and numerous other dictatorial regimes” to use the platform, but cannot abide his father.
“Mao would be proud,” Trump Jr. scoffed.

In the end, @realDonaldTrump offered an in-the-moment peek into Trump’s state of mind over more than a decade, a period
in which the “Apprentice” TV star transformed into the 45th American president.

Down the road, when historians look for a glimpse into Trump thoughts on the issues of his time -- anything from actress Kristen Stewart’s treatment of co-star Robert Pattinson to the president’s views on Russian meddling in the 2016 election the first stop may inevitably be one of the many digital archives that have preserved the tweets of @realDonaldTrump.

With Trump, whatever the topic, there’s always a tweet for that.

Twitter suspends 70,000 QAnon accounts in crackdown on extremist delusions by Trump supporters.

Twitter is taking further action to clean up extremism on its social media platform after permanently suspending Donald Trump's
use of the service.

"Following the horrific events in Washington, DC, last week, here are some of the steps we've taken to protect the conversation on our service from attempts to incite violence, organize attacks, and share deliberately misleading information about the election outcome," Twitter said in a statement announcing the crackdown.

"We've been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm. Given the violent events in Washington, DC, and increased risk of harm, we began permanently suspending thousands of accounts that were primarily dedicated to sharing QAnon content on Friday afternoon," Twitter explained.

"Many of the individuals impacted by this updated enforcement action held multiple accounts, driving up the total number of accounts impacted. Since Friday, more than 70,000 accounts have been suspended as a result of our efforts, with many instances of a single individual operating numerous accounts. These accounts were engaged in sharing harmful QAnon-associated content at scale and were primarily dedicated to the propagation of this conspiracy theory across the service," Twitter wrote.

The crackdown is ten times the size of a July purge of QAnon supporters.

The crackdown is responsible for the loss of followers that some far-right leaders have complained about.

"Our updated enforcement on QAnon content on Twitter, along with routine spam challenges, has resulted in changes in follower count for some people's Twitter accounts. In some cases, these actions may have resulted in follower count changes in the thousands," Twitter explained.

Michael Green From Gregory Ervin:

Quote :
Dear Patriots:

Some of you may recognize my name. I have daily briefing with POTUS and have posted here before a handful of times as a “helper”.

What I’m about to disclose is the most important post you’ll read before the inauguration.  Q will not post here again, at least not for a while.

The operation is ongoing but must run silent at this point. Once we wind down you will not hear from Q again.  Don’t let this worry or upset you.  We are in perhaps the most critical juncture of American history.  POTUS is fully aware of the gravity of this time period.  We have prepared from before 2015 for this exact moment.

I am not asking for faith in us.  Q should have already used logic, reason, and multiple proofs to establish our credibility.

What happens this week will change history.

We are asking you for now to stay in your homes and do NOT under any circumstances interfere with the operation.  You’ll soon see things unfold that many would think impossible.  POTUS is insulated and 100% safe.

Our plan is almost complete.  The DS has already lost. Everything you’re seeing in the MSM and on Twitter is a last-ditch attempt.

Why has Kamala not yet left the senate? Where is Joe? Where is Joe really?  Hunter has turned himself in.

We asked you at the beginning to prepare.  Your role is crucial, and your task is to help the population deal with that is about to be revealed.  Those patriots who have been here from the start will understand and recognize this directive.  Remember, it is always darkest before the dawn.

Do not believe the MSM over the next week.  Do not, for a single minute give them any credence.  We have legally won this election and what comes next is the greatest mop up job in the history of the world.

Patriots, we thank you. We could not have gotten here without you. Now is our time. Hold the line. You will receive no further message on this channel from us until the operation is over. At that point, the entire world will know.

Thank you and God bless.  Pray for us, POTUS, and the United States of America.  We are in the most dangerous phase and the stakes could not be higher.  Military takedowns and arrests begin this weekend and will continue forward for the next 13 days/nights. Some international raids have already started. Italy has also been found complicit in our election fraud.

Everyone will be getting emergency alerts on their phones, tv's, radios & internet.  It will override all other broadcasts and could last for several hours at a time.

Do not to be scared of what's coming as it is for the safety of our nation for this to unfold.   DO NOT travel to any large cities (especially Philadelphia) for the rest of the month.  Military operations will be taking place in many of the major corrupt cities.
People will start rioting once this intel breaks, thinking Trump is a military dictator.  He only has 13 days to put this dog down.

The implementation of the Insurrection Act began after the raid on the Capitol and was marked by Trump's broadcast to the people to disband and return home. This broadcast wound up being blocked, for the most part, by the media. Nevertheless, his address fulfilled the requirements to initiate the Act.

Marines and National Guard troops are being moved as needed for the riots that will start after the national release of the intel. The intel will be dropped for everyone to see and hear in loops that will be several hours long.

The system was just checked by the FCC a few days ago alerting ALL media that they cannot block the flow of intel under federal regs.

Trump will be moved continuously like a chess piece from now until the 20th in order to avoid any retaliation against him and family.

Trump had to exhaust ALL other means legally before this operation could commence. He gave everyone a fair chance to come clean and they refused.  His press release of a "smooth transition" did not include the word, "concede" as he has no plans to do so.  Rather, there will be a smooth transition of power to his new cabinet, staff and Vice President, General Flynn.

The rally in DC was an awesome event!  The raids on the Capitol all started with BLM and Antifa members (many from the Philly area) and included Capitol police or those posing as Capitol police.  Every day, new info is pouring forth to support this.  They opened up the barricades and doors to the Capitol and let them in.

It appears there were some Special Ops members dressed as Trump supporters who went in with the crowd of protesters that were able to secure 20+ laptops w/hard drives with data regarding sex trafficking intel from both Pelosi and Schumer's offices

Twitter loses $5 billion in market value after Trump is permanently barred from the platform
Theron Mohamed | businessinsider.com
Jan. 11, 2021, 05:12 PM

Twitter stock slumped on Monday after the platform permanently barred President Donald Trump.

Twitter's stock price tumbled as much as 12% on Monday, erasing $5 billion from its market capitalization.

The tumble followed the social-media group's permanent suspension of President Donald Trump's account on Friday.

"After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," Twitter said.

Trump, who had about 88 million followers, generated enormous publicity for the platform with his controversial and incendiary tweets over the past six years.

Twitter stock fell as much as 12% on Monday after the social-media company permanently suspended President Donald Trump's account on Friday evening. The share-price decline wiped $5 billion from Twitter's market capitalization.

Twitter's bosses suspended Trump's account - which had about 88 million followers - after the world leader's fanning of conspiracy theories about voter fraud and election theft spurred thousands of his supporters to lay siege to the Capitol last week.

"After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," Twitter said.

The ban followed Facebook's suspension of Trump for at least the rest of his presidency. CEO Mark Zuckerberg defended the decision in a Facebook post on Thursday, arguing that Trump appeared intent on using his account to undermine a peaceful transition of power and risked sparking more violence.

Twitter stock likely fell because investors are worried the Trump ban will erode interest in the platform and lead to boycotts among those who see the decision as politically motivated and a way to silence a major conservative voice.

Twitter boss: Trump ban is 'right' but 'dangerous'
By James Clayton
North America technology reporter
BBC | Published6 hours ago

Twitter boss Jack Dorsey has said banning US President Donald Trump was the right thing to do.

However, he expressed sadness at what he described as the "extraordinary and untenable circumstances" surrounding Mr Trump's permanent suspension.

He also said the ban was in part a failure of Twitter's, which hadn't done enough to foster "healthy conversation" across its platforms.

Twitter has been praised and criticised for freezing Mr Trump's account.

German leader Angela Merkel and Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador - neither an ally of the outgoing US president - spoke out against the tech titan's move.

In a long Twitter thread, Twitter's chief said he did not celebrate or feel pride in the ban - which came after the Capitol riot last week.

He reiterated that removing the president from Twitter was made after "a clear warning" to Mr Trump.

"We made a decision with the best information we had based on threats to physical safety both on and off Twitter," Mr Dorsey said.

He also accepted that the move would have consequences for an open and free internet.

"Having to take these actions fragment the public conversation. They divide us….And sets a precedent I feel is dangerous."

He also addressed criticism that just a handful of tech bosses can make decisions on who does and doesn't have a voice on the internet - and on accusations of censorship.

"A company making a business decision to moderate itself is different from a government removing access, yet can feel much the same," said Mr Dorsey.

The decision to remove users, posts and tweets has been criticised by some for violating First Amendment - free speech - rights.

However Big Tech generally argues that as they are private companies, and not state actors, the law does not apply when they moderate their platforms.

On Monday, the German chancellor's spokesperson said she found the social media ban "problematic". And the Mexican president said: "I don't like anybody being censored."

Incoming US President-elect Joe Biden has said he wants companies like Facebook and Twitter to do more to take down hate speech and fake news.

He has previously said he wants to repeal Section 230, a law protecting social media companies from being sued for the things people post.

It's not clear how Mr Biden intends to regulate Big Tech, though it's likely to be a legislative focus of his.

Twitter, Facebook: $51 Billion Combined Market Value Erased Since Trump Ban
ISABEL VAN BRUGEN January 13, 2021 Updated: January 13, 2021

Social media giants Facebook and Twitter have collectively seen $51.2 billion in combined market value wiped out over the last two trading sessions since they banned President Donald Trump from their platforms following the U.S. Capitol breach.

Large tech firms and a Democratic political figures have claimed Trump incited violence at the U.S. Capitol last week. The incident disrupted debates in both the House and Senate as lawmakers were forced to shelter in place while police and security attempted to seize back control.

Trump took to Twitter following the outbreak of violence to call on protesters to “go home in peace.” He denounced the violence as a “heinous attack” that “defiled the seat of American democracy” on Jan. 7. It is unclear who instigated the breach of the building.

Last week, Twitter first placed restrictions on a video the president posted, before temporarily suspending his account, an action followed closely Facebook. Twitter two days later permanently suspended Trump’s account over two Twitter posts it cited as having violated its policies.

A large of pro-Trump accounts were also deleted Twitter and Facebook.

As users attempted to flee to Parler and other social media websites, Amazon Web Services suspended its service with Parler on Monday morning, triggering a lawsuit from the company hours later.

Most recently, Google’s YouTube removed new content from Trump’s account and suspended his channel for at least a week, saying that the channel violated its policies for “inciting violence.”

“After careful review, and in light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, we removed new content uploaded to the Donald J. Trump channel and issued a strike for violating our policies for inciting violence,” a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement to The Epoch Times.

“As a result, in accordance with our long-standing strikes system, the channel is now prevented from uploading new videos or livestreams for a minimum of seven days—which may be extended. We are also indefinitely disabling comments under videos on the channel, we’ve taken similar actions in the past for other cases involving safety concerns.”

Google did not have any further comment when asked about what aspects of the content on Trump’s channel had violated its policies.

The president has argued that companies like Google, Twitter, and Facebook will fail due to censorship.

Big Tech is “doing a horrible thing to our country. … And I believe it’s going to be a catastrophic mistake for them,” Trump said.

If "the market" had anything to do with the real world it wouldn't have been posting record levels in the middle of a pandemic-related recession/depression.

So a few megawealthy arseholes sold off their stock... woopdefuckin'doo.

Sold off at a profit for themselves perhaps, but a huge loss on paper for those that held on.
