While the video shows Harris not saluting military officers when boarding the plane, there is no protocol in place that requires the vice president to return salutes, as she is not in the military chain of command.

That is correct, she is not required to return the salutes. But it's a good idea to do it.

It's not mandatory to hug gramma either but it's a DAMN good idea to do it.
Because it's the right thing to do.

So no military time means no respect to the troops? Did omamma salute? Or slick willy? Both Bush men DID serve so according to you, their saluting is ok?
