Local Fox reporter tells her bosses live on air that she’s been secretly recording them:
‘Fox has been muzzling me to keep information from you’.
While reporting on an upcoming heat wave, a local news reporter interrupted her segment live on air and informed the station she works for that she’s been secretly recording them and plans on telling her story to the right-wing media watchdog group, Project Veritas.
Fox26Houston reporter Ivory Hecker was about to report on power outages throughout the region of Montgomery County, but first said she has something she wanted to say.
“Before we get to that story, I want to let you the viewers know that [Fox Corporation] has been muzzling me to keep certain information from you, the viewers —
and from that I’m gathering, I’m not the only reporter being subjected to this —
I’m going to be releasing some recordings about what goes on behind the scenes at Fox, because it applies to you, the viewers,” she said.
“I found a non-profit journalism group called Project Veritas who’s gonna help put that out tomorrow, so tune into them ,” she added before going on to report on the heat wave story.
It’s not known what information or scoop Hecker plans to hand over to Project Veritas, which been accused of selectively editing pieces designed to target the left.
We’ll update this story when more information is known.
Update: Project Veritas is claiming (via Newsmax) that Hecker has been suspended by the station.
“Project Veritas reporting local Houston Fox reporter, Ivory Hecker, has been suspended by the station, effectively immediately, following her on-air announcement that Fox Corp. is ‘Muzzling’ her reporting,” tweeted Newsmax’s Shaun Kraisman.
