| Ruth Bader Ginsburg treated for cancer 1 hour ago
US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has received treatment for a cancerous tumour on her pancreas, a court spokeswoman says.
She "tolerated treatment well" and the tumour was "treated definitively", the court added in a statement.
Ms Ginsburg, 86, has survived previous battles with cancer, as well as fractured ribs from falls.
As the most senior liberal justice, her health is watched closely as a possible indicator of changes to the court.
Justices on the highest court in the US serve for life or until they choose to retire, and supporters have expressed concern that if anything were to happen to Ms Ginsburg then a more conservative justice could replace her.
Donald Trump has appointed two judges since becoming president, and the current court is seen to have a 5-4 conservative majority in most cases.
Ms Ginsburg received three weeks of radiation therapy in New York in August after the tumour was discovered, the court said.
"The abnormality was first detected after a routine blood test in early July, and a biopsy performed... she cancelled her annual summer visit to Santa Fe, but has otherwise maintained an active schedule," the statement said.
"The tumour was treated definitively and there is no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body... no further treatment is needed at this time."
Who is 'RBG'?
Ms Ginsburg is the oldest sitting justice on the Supreme Court. She was nominated by President Bill Clinton in 1993 - becoming the second woman ever to join the court.
Before she became a justice, she had a background in civil rights law - fighting gender discrimination and arguing six cases before the Supreme Court.
She has become an icon for liberals - in recent years, she has been the subject of a biopic, On the Basis of Sex, a documentary, and a bestselling book called Notorious RBG.
She received treatment for colon cancer in 1999, and pancreatic cancer in 2009. In December, she had surgery to remove two cancerous nodules from her lung.
She has refused to retire from her role, once saying in an interview: "As long as I can do the job full steam, I will be here." |

| Published 2 hours ago Ruth Bader Ginsburg: I'm 'alive and on my way to being very well'
By Melissa Leon | Fox News Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg says her work on the Supreme Court has kept her going by distracting her from her aches and pains from cancer treatment. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg made a much-anticipated appearance at the National Book Festival on Saturday, and she was not short on humor. “As this audience can see I am alive… and I’m on my way to being very well,” she said at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., much to the audience’s delight. Ginsburg, 86, recently completed three weeks of radiation therapy at a New York City hospital to treat a malignant tumor on her pancreas. The Supreme Court said last week there’s no evidence the disease remains. At the National Book Festival, Ginsburg discussed her career, as well as what keeps her motivated. | Ruth Bader Ginsburg reveals why she didn’t retire during Obama’s term Published: Sept 20, 2019 6:55 a.m. ET By NICOLE LYN PESCE | marketwatch
Ruth Bader Ginsburg has a question for the critics who think she should have stepped down during President Obama’s administration:
“Who you would prefer on the court than me?”
The Supreme Court justice and “liberal lion” defended her 26 years serving on the highest court in the country with NPR’s Nina Totenberg at a NYC event on Wednesday.
“It has been suggested by more than one commentator, including some law professors, that I should have stepped down during President Obama’s second term,” said Ginsburg, 86, as reported by CNBC. “When that suggestion is made, I ask the question: Who do you think that the President could nominate that could get through the Republican Senate? Who you would prefer on the court than me?”
Plus, work gives the Notorious RBG life. She recently finished three weeks of radiation therapy in August for a tumor on her pancreas. She also had surgery in December for another cancer found on her lungs.
“This is my fourth cancer bout, and I found each time that when I am active I am much better than when I am just lying about feeling sorry for myself,” said Ginsburg. “The necessity to get up and go is stimulating. And somehow, all these appearances I’ve had since the end of August, whatever my temporary disability is, it stops, and I’m OK for the event.” |

| Yea, dems found she had cancer again and they fabricated another Kavanaugh "victim" ...When that fell through they wanted to rehash the whole Kavanaugh shitshow again... what happened to that? .. ha .. Dems actually threatened the supreme court several months ago .. said they were gonna "reconstruct" it ... add more judges, I assume
Since Trump nominated Gorsich and Kavanaugh, the supreme court is majority republican nominated ...Democrats wanna control everything so they can't have that ... With Ginsburg's days numbered, Trump will have the opportunity to nominate another SC justice .. I think that would make it a lopsided 5-2 republican nominated
Democrats need to win the presidency before they can fuk around with the supreme court ... So if/when Trump nominates another SC judge, look for another outrage debacle from democrats .. Maybe they'l come up with more valid charges against the next one than the stupid 35 year old bullshit accusations against Kavanaugh ...but they don't seem very creative with their fabricated allegations ..they don't even seem very bright |

US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 86, has been admitted to hospital suffering chills and a fever, the court said in a statement.
She was evaluated at the Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington on Friday, before being transferred to Johns Hopkins Hospital for "treatment of any possible infection", it added.
It is expected Ms Ginsburg could be released as early as Sunday morning.
As the court's most senior liberal justice, her health is closely watched.
Her symptoms improved after she was given intravenous antibiotics and fluids, the court said.

| US Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg back in hospital 3 hours ago
US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has had non-surgical treatment for a gallbladder condition, and is now "resting comfortably", the court says.
Ms Ginsburg, 87, was treated in Baltimore's Johns Hopkins Hospital on Tuesday, court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said in a statement.
Ms Ginsburg plans on Wednesday to take part in the court's work remotely from the hospital.
As the court's most senior liberal justice, her health is closely watched.
She is expected to stay in the hospital for up to two days.
On Wednesday, the court's justices will be continuing hearing oral arguments by telephone because of the deadly coronavirus outbreak. They are expected to consider a case relating to the Affordable Care Act.
Justice Ginsburg is the oldest sitting justice on the Supreme Court, and has received hospital treatment a number of times in recent years.
Last November, she was taken to hospital after suffering chills and a fever.

| IOW this old hen knows and everyone else knows her days on the SC are basically over. Yet she refuses to step aside for the greater good. Trump should announce his intention of nominating Obama. The when she drops out, say oops...just kidding. |
