Stacey Abrams PAC Wipes Out $212 Million
in Medical Debt for 108,000 People in 5 States.

Apolitical organization led by Stacey Abrams has paid off medical debts owed by 108,000 people in Georgia, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

The Fair Fight Political Action Committee donated a total of $1.34 million to the nonprofit organization
RIP Medical Debt to clear debts that carried a face value of $212 million, the Associated Press reported.

The state where the most people received the debt payoffs was Georgia, where 69,000 people had their medical bills paid. In Arizona, 27,000 had their debts paid, while 8,000 people in Louisiana had theirs forgiven, followed by about 2,000 people in both Mississippi and Alabama.

Abrams founded Fair Fight Action after losing the 2018 election for governor of Georgia. The group has since raised more than $100 million.
While Fair Fight Action has thus far been known mostly for voting rights advocacy, it recently started working toward broadening health care throughout the country.

"I know firsthand how medical costs and a broken healthcare system put families further and further
in debt," Abrams said in a statement.

"Across the sunbelt and in the South, this problem is exacerbated in states like Georgia where failed leaders have callously refused to expand Medicaid, even during a pandemic."

It seems the bigger they are, the harder they fall. That’s certainly the case for Georgia Governor, Stacey Abrams. On Thursday night her Twitter account was suspended after she deliberately spread the falsehood that she was fighting for a cause bigger than herself.

Twitter acted quickly after Abrams’ post was reported by Don Jr.

“Ummm? So @Jack, you going to let this stand? I’m normally not for censorship, but this is irresponsibly untrue,” the President’s son tweeted.

The uproar was so great, Twitter, Facebook, Google and even Tom from MySpace gathered for a joint meeting. After their collaboration, they issued the following statement:

“We agree that Governor Abrams is fighting for a rather large cause. But claiming it’s bigger than herself is so factually impossible that we feel it’s speech worth censoring. You can’t yell ‘fire’ in a crowded theater and you can’t yell stuff is bigger than Stacey Abrams. She has been deplatformed in every way and that includes any Subway club card stamps she might still have.”

The big tech giants acted swiftly, but it appears the damage has already been done. Early Friday, thousands of people were spreading various versions of what’s being called ‘The Bigger Lie.’

“Watching Jaws. They’re going to need a bigger boat. Probably bigger than Stacey Abrams!” read a horribly misleading Facebook post. And a Twitter user further spread misinformation by writing, “Accepted into Georgia State. I’m going to dream big! Bigger than our fearless Governor!”

Update: Stacey Abrams has appealed her suspension. She claims she has hundreds of thousands of signatures in suitcases voting for her social media accounts should be reinstated.

We live in a country where a few people can win a medical debt lottery and we're expected to cheer and toss roses at the lottery's spokesperson as if anything at all has actually been fixed.

It is a great thing to have their medical bills paid off.
It's the poor, too poor to pay for insurance.

As for a single-payer universal health care system-
Well, a great many would luv it, but--

It would take decades before that would happen..
There are a huge number of health insurance providers.
They employ a huge number of employees.
To put an end to the health insurance providers
would create complete chaos and devastating unemployment.

If America had created a single-payer universal health care system after world war two, it would have been possible.
Nonetheless- at some point in time America will have single-payer, but never under Republican leadership.
They are 100% against it and will fight to the death to not have it.

It is an extraordinary undertaking task to turn America into a single-payer universal health care system. To eliminate;

Are struggling with a midlife crisis ??

To have signal payer Insurance ;
ALL insurance providers and ALL their employees
would need to be zeroed out..

What that would do to America's economy
would be horrific- the unemployment checks
alone could crash the economy.
And a need to supply open jobs needed to employ the people
out of jobs would be a miracle.
And the tremendous amount of taxes the Insurance companies paid would be gone.
That would be a hard hit on the economy.

The health care insurance providers are entwined
in America's economy.

America would need to redo a good many things
that would take decades to create a single-payer system if it could
be fully accomplished, dunno.

But-- doable at some point in time. We might be dead so not needed.
