A Shipping Container Mansion

"For friends who ask me about the road I have built . . . My own self-reliance is centered on doing as much of the work myself as possible on weekends and holidays, including cutting the trees down, tearing through the "jungle," contracting all the resources, and building the road.

My ultimate goal is to build a house out of shipping containers, where there is a great room big enough for a court on which to play pickle ball, badminton, or half-court basketball.

I am completing the architectural work myself in the CAD program Sketchup and will get a "real" architect to sign off on it, me being the fake one. Then the fun really starts--welding the containers together. All by myself. Self-reliance. Step by step.

Oh, by the way, I am planting 1,000 trees, with 550 already on order and to be delivered soon. And I will plant them myself."
