Subject: Unmasked; Woman Behind The Notorious 'Libs of TikTok' Account Tue Apr 19, 2022 9:16 pm

The woman behind the notorious 'Libs of TikTok' account was just unmasked – and conservatives are furious.
An anonymous Twitter account that has helped drive the recent spike in anti-LGBTQ crackdowns and possibly was present at the Jan. 6 insurrection has been unmasked.
The "Libs of TikTok" account posted video of a woman teaching sexual education to children in Kentucky, branding the woman a "predator," and the same clip appeared the next night on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News program, and its tweets reach millions of social media users and helps set the agenda in right-wing discourse online -- but the Washington Post has tracked down and identified the account's owner.
“Libs of TikTok is basically acting as a wire service for the broader right-wing media ecosystem,” said Ari Drennen, LGBTQ program director for the watchdog group Media Matters. “It’s been shaping public policy in a real way, and affecting teachers’ ability to feel safe in their classrooms.”
The account was created in early November 2020 by Brooklyn real estate agent Chaya Raichik, who cycled through Twitter handles and areas of interest -- COVID denial, 2020 election conspiracies and other conservative political topics -- with uneven success before landing on the Libs of TikTok angle in April 2021 and getting her first big break a few months later.
"Just four months after getting started, Libs of TikTok got its big break: Joe Rogan started promoting the account to the millions of listeners of his hit podcast," the Post reported. "He mentioned it several times on the show in August, then again in late September. 'Libs of TikTok is one of the greatest fucking accounts of all time,' he said. With his seal of approval, Raichik’s following skyrocketed."
Conservatives quickly lashed out at The Washington Post for publishing Raichik's name.
The account has also been featured in the New York Post, the Federalist, the Post Millennial and other right-wing news sites, and it has been retweeted by Meghan McCain and Glenn Greenwald, and Raichik appeared anonymously on Tucker Carlson's Fox News program just last week to complain about being temporarily suspended for violating Twitter’s community guidelines.
“Given that ‘Libs of TikTok’ has (it turns out) given interviews to The Daily Caller & The NY Post and appeared on Tucker Carlson, I'm inclined to say she's enough of a public figure to be fair game,” remarked Cathy Young of The Bulwark.
Libs of TikTok found the most success with anti-trans tweets, and Raichik’s page leaned hard into "groomer" allegations by January and called for the firing of any teacher who comes out as gay to their students.
“The role I’ve seen this account playing is finding new characters for right-wing propaganda,” said ACLU media strategist Gillian Branstetter. “It’s relying on the endless stream of content from TikTok and the Internet to cast any individual trans person as a new villain in their story.”
She popularized the fake conspiracy theory that schools were installing litter boxes in bathrooms for children who identify as cats. According to the Washington Post, Raichik has also amped up anti-LGBTQ bigotry with other dubious claims that have led to harassment campaigns and directly impacted legislation -- especially Florida's so-called "don't say gay" law.
“I follow, like and retweet libsoftiktok," said Gov. Ron DeSantis' press secretary Christina Pushaw, who said the account was an influence on the bill. "My interactions with that account are public."
Raichik boasts that her tweets have gotten teachers fired, and she has encouraged her followers to run for school board and other local offices.
She has taken steps to obscure her identity, but software developer Travis Brown found her account's history and posted a thread detailing her profile's changes, and Glenn Greenwald confirmed that a house visited by a Post reporter in Los Angeles belonged to Raichik’s family.
Raichik claims to run the account alone, but Grant Lally, a lawyer and Republican operative, filed a trademark for Libs of TikTok in August as a "news reporter service," but he declined to comment.

I wasn't aware of LibsofTikTok until a couple days ago. From what i gather, this woman was posting (or reposting) videos of grade school teachers telling viewers their pronouns, thoughts, views, or wtf ever.. The twitter mob hated this ..it showed the left what they're supporting and/or what they are in some cases .. So if they support these teachers and what they're teaching, then what's the problem with seeing it posted? In typical twitter mob, left wingnut fashion, they have this woman banned, doxxed, and her and her family harrased.. Why do this if they support these teachers and what they're teaching? It's kinda like looking in a mirror and getting pissed off at someone else because you're ugly
On the vid Obi posted, the guy claims that doctors *Guess* your gender when you're born ..who'd want their kids to believe that? ..is this what the twitter mob and the left believes?
There's just no rhyme or reason for the illogical antics of the left.. I'm gonna mention too that the "don't say gay" law DeSanti passed in Fla was named by the left. It was never the actual name of the law. It only applies to K-3rd grade (in Florida) ..So are we to believe that the left is that up in arms over children in Fla not being taught about sexuality, trans, gay, etc.. stuff? .. Teachers have more than enough to teach K-3rd grade kids without raising those issues with them .. The left is only virtue signaling to the LGBTQIA++ people that they've put on a pedestal. Many whom are now teachers

'Libs of TikTok' deletes thousands of tweets after owner's identity is exposed.
The right-wing "Libs of TikTok" account deleted thousands of tweets after its owner's identity was exposed.
The account, which has nearly 650,000 followers and is widely shared among prominent conservatives, singles out individual teachers and public officials with pedophilia smears for supporting LGBTQ rights, and has helped drive discriminatory legislation in Florida elsewhere -- but its administrators took down 2,795 posts after the Washington Post unmasked its owner.
Releasing 2769 deleted tweets by @libsoftiktok\n\nThey have been furiously deleting tweets after the Washington Post published an article on them this morning https://github.com/salcoast/deleted-tweets-archive/blob/main/datasets/libsoftiktok-deleted.md\u00a0\u2026 — Deleted Tweet Archive (@Deleted Tweet Archive) 1650435289 The Salish Coast Anti-Fascist Action, which tracks right-wing extremists, used the Wayback Machine to determine that the account owner, identified by the Post as former real estate salesperson Chaya Raichik, deleted the tweets as the report ignited online debate over privacy and accountability.
Raichik was subsequently hired by Seth Dillon, CEO of the right-wing satire website Babylon Bee, and she counts a number of Republican politicians and conservative media figures as supporters.
Christina Pushaw, press secretary for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, credited "Libs of TikTok" with influencing her position on the state's controversial "don't say gay" law prohibiting classroom discussion of gender and sexual orientation, and Raichik has appeared anonymously for interviews on Fox News and in the New York Post.

No surprise in this... libs enjoy discussing their perversions amongst themselves but freak out if the general public becomes aware of it. They don't want everyone to know they're a bunch of degenerates.

Taylor Lorenz Family DOXXED As Libs Of Tik Tok Explodes In Popularity After Liberal Backlash!

Lorenz was also doing her job and doing it well.
Taylor Lorenz was doing when she reported on the woman behind the controversial Twitter account called Libs of TikTok. Lorenz’s story — “Meet the woman behind Libs of TikTok, secretly fueling the right’s outrage machine” — detailed the woman behind the account that, as Lorenz describes it, “reposts a steady stream of TikTok videos and social media posts, primarily from LGBTQ+ people, often including incendiary framing designed to generate outrage.
Videos shared from the account quickly find their way to the most influential names in right-wing media. The account has emerged as a powerful force on the Internet, shaping right-wing media, impacting anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and influencing millions by posting viral videos aimed at inciting outrage among the right.”
It was a legitimate story that needed to be told.
Lorenz found out who was behind the account — a woman named Chaya Raichik. She then set out to find and talk to Raichik. She tried by phone. When that was unsuccessful, she went looking for her. An argument could be made — and I will make that argument right now — that knocking on a door looking for Raichik was as much for Raichik’s benefit as it was Lorenz’s.
By seeking out Raichik, Lorenz was doing two things: making sure she had the right Chaya Raichik and, two, giving Raichik a chance to be quoted — to explain/defend/give her side of the story about the account she runs.
In fact, if Lorenz didn’t exhaust all efforts to reach Raichik, you could say that would have been journalistically irresponsible.
You can go a step further. If Lorenz had written the story and never tried to reach Raichik then Raichik (and her defenders) would have every right to complain about her not being given the opportunity to be quoted.
Ben Collins, a senior reporter at NBC News, tweeted a really smart observation: “Say there are two women with the same, very specific name. They live in the same exact neighborhood. One is a TikTok influencer. Nice family, cute kids, loves a good handbag. One runs an anti-LGBT TikTok aggregator. She’s a regular on Tucker Carlson—but never shows her face.”
Collins continued on explaining how and why it’s important to make sure, if you’re writing a story, to get the right one.
This is Journalism 101. Has there ever been a journalist who hasn’t knocked on a door at least once in their career? Ever see “All the President’s Men?” Yeah, it was a movie, but trust me, Woodward and Bernstein knocked on plenty of doors.
Alex Pareene wrote, “A related belief people in the news business sometimes express is that, because the profession has done such a poor job explaining i ts methods, its ethical codes, and its bright lines, sometimes people become alarmed or upset when they witness what are actually common reporting practices, especially around tracking down and identifying sources, subjects, victims, and wrongdoers. This one is closer to the mark. Journalism can be exploitative and invasive and grubby. There’s this whole book about it.
In this case, though, the thing that happened was that information was gathered in basically the simplest way possible, deemed newsworthy, and put in a newspaper. This is what many, many people, so many people, tried to explain, over and over again, to everyone who was mad about it.”
Of course, some of this is just false outrage by those who simply don’t like that Lorenz wrote the story she did. The headline on Pareene’s says it perfectly: __“They Know How Journalism Works! They’re Just Against It!”
Pareene writes, “These people on this ascendant right don’t just have different ideas about the role and function of journalism; they don’t just believe journalists are biased liberals; they don’t just believe the media is too hostile to conservatives; they are hostile to the concept of journalism itself. As in, uncovering things dutifully and carefully and attempting to convey your findings to the public honestly.”
He adds, “This new right fundamentally doesn’t want ‘newsgathering’ to happen. They want a chaotic information stream of unverifiable bulls— and context collapse and propaganda.”
Lorenz- She did her job — well and responsibly.

The repeated print adds "right wing... That's what's pissing them off
When these gender fluid weirdos post videos of themselves they *wamt* people to see them ..they want attention ...they're expressing themselves .. The more attention the more followers, likes and. shit .. To take their posts and repost them on twitter -isn't illegal .. To bust on them, ridicule, laugh at them -isn't illegal
Its the internet .. People have been doing it since webby land ..cross posting in alt.discuss or usenet .. If the posts piss you off you deal with it onlline, where the posts are ..For the press to get themselves involved is kinda ridiculous to begin with
This "journalist" hunts the online user down then publishes her name and address to the world under the guise of journalism -is bullshit ... Of course she deleted posts...after half the country is squawkin about them and now know exactly where she lives .. There's no excuse for doxxing this woman and inevitably getting her harassed by a buncha left wingnuts
...The people she's posting are the future of the left .. They've created their own idiology ... It's spread to college professors, school teachers.. The alphabet people aren't anymore beyond ridicule than anyone else .. The left doesn't like gun-toting, pickup driving rednecks ... It's ok to ridicule them
Now their name dropping congressmen, the media is involved...all because the leftist twitter mob is pissed off about twitter posts
