Paul Pelosi, much like Nancy, gets hammered 4Wbyj1nm

Paul Pelosi, husband of the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, was beaten with a hammer inside the couple’s San Francisco home early Friday after being specifically targeted, according to the Speaker’s office and reporting from the Associated Press.

“Early this morning, an assailant broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco and violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi,” Drew Hammill, a spokesman for the Speaker’s office, stated in a press release. “The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation. Mr. Pelosi was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery. The Speaker was not in San Francisco at the time.”

The Associated Press reported that according to two people with knowledge of the attack, Mr. Pelosi was severely beaten and is being treated by doctors for bruising, severe swelling and other injuries. The sources stated he suffered blunt force injuries.

Haa!
... I predict MAGA republican extremists or some shit from the left - will be blamed for the hammer attack

It will be revealed from the investigation that the hammer-wielding attacker is a Trump supporter, acting on behalf of Trump himself to fulfill some kinda political agenda.. Eventually Trump will be blamed for enticing the attack..heheh

Latest word is the attacker is Paul's gay lover and they had some kind of tizzy fit. If so this story is going to disappear faster than a bowl of Rocky Road at TWAP's house.

FBI: Attacker wanted to hold Nancy Pelosi hostage, planned to break her kneecaps
Christopher Wilson·Senior Writer | YAHOO News
Mon, October 31, 2022 at 1:44 PM

The man who broke into the home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and attacked her husband with a hammer told authorities he planned on breaking her kneecaps and viewed her as “the leader of the pack” of lies told by the Democratic Party, according to court documents.

The Justice Department charged David DePape with the attempted kidnapping of a federal officer and assault of the immediate family member of a federal officer on Monday afternoon.

Authorities allege that DePape broke into Pelosi’s San Francisco residence early Friday morning and assaulted her husband, Paul, with a hammer. The congresswoman was in Washington, D.C., at the time of the attack, and Paul Pelosi continues to recover from surgery at a local hospital.

In the criminal complaint released Monday, an FBI special agent stated that during DePape’s interview with police, he claimed his plan had been to hold Nancy Pelosi hostage and talk to her. If she told the truth, he would let her go, but if she lied, he would break her kneecaps. DePape said his assumption was that Pelosi would lie to him, and he viewed her as the “‘leader of the pack’ of lies told by the Democratic Party,” according to the complaint.

“DePape also later explained that by breaking Nancy’s kneecaps, she would then have to be wheeled into Congress, which would show other members of Congress there were consequences to actions,” read the filing.

After Paul Pelosi called 911, DePape allegedly said he did not leave “because, much like the American Founding Fathers with the British, he was fighting against tyranny without the option of surrender.” Police claim he reiterated this sentiment elsewhere in the interview.

According to the complaint, DePape said he was planning on restraining Paul Pelosi with zip ties. When the police arrived, Pelosi ran to the door and opened it. The two wrestled over the hammer DePape had brought into the residence, and DePape allegedly struck Pelosi with it.

According to records of his internet activity, DePape was an adherent of a number of conspiracy theories promoted in right-wing media, including QAnon and the belief that the 2020 election was stolen. He also cast doubt on preventive COVID-19 actions like vaccinations and wearing masks, promoted antisemitic beliefs and defended former President Donald Trump.

Nancy Pelosi has been featured prominently in Republican ads and right-wing media attacks for years, with an uptick recently leading into November’s midterm elections. Last year, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said that “it will be hard not to hit” Pelosi with the speaker’s gavel if he takes over the position in 2023. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., previously liked social media posts supporting Pelosi's execution.

“The Pelosi family is immensely grateful to Mr. Pelosi’s entire medical team and the law enforcement officers who responded to the assault,” Drew Hammill, spokesman for the speaker, said in a statement on Friday. “The family appreciates respect for their privacy during this time.”

Neighbors of Paul Pelosi’s Alleged Attacker Provide Chilling Details
Jon Dougherty, October 31, 2022

Several neighbors and others who know David DePape, the man accused of assaulting Paul Pelosi in his home last week, have provided more background on his life and history, details of which are quite chilling.

According to the New York Post, some neighbors described the suspect as “homeless,” though the outlet said he was living in a “dilapidated” school bus that was parked outside the home of “notorious Bay Area nudist and left-wing activist Gypsy Taub.” Neighbor Ryan La Coste told the outlet that the Post that DePape “usually kept to himself.” La Coste noted further: “He would just give us a blank stare when we would walk by. We tried to stay clear of him.”

“Another crazy story coming from someone in that house,” La Coste said. “They are always on the news and trying to be ‘activists.’ They always want to be in the spotlight.”

Margarita Gonzalez, another of DePape’s neighbors, told The Post that she never saw the suspect actually committing violence, but said it’s possible he has mental health issues.

“He never had work,” Gonzalez said. “Maybe there’s a mental problem with him.”

Journalist Michael Shellenberger wrote separately on his Substack page that, despite Democrats and the left claiming DePape is a right-wing nutjob, “it’s obvious to anyone who looks that what drove David DePape to violence was drug-induced paranoid psychosis.”

Also, “DePape’s politics have little rhyme or reason,” Shellenberger noted on his Substack page. “In past years DePape shared a post about Stephen Colbert’s 2006 roast of President George W. Bush at the White House Correspondents dinner; linked to videos of Disney films altered to make it look like the characters were swearing; and claimed, ‘Jesus is the anti-Christ’ — not exactly a litany of right-wing tropes.”

He also described the area surrounding DePape’s school bus ‘home.’

“In the driveway, there is a broken-down camper van. On the street is a yellow school bus, which neighbors said DePape occasionally stayed in. Both are filled with garbage typical of such structures in homeless encampments,” he wrote. “People come and go from the house and the vehicles, neighbors say, in part to partake in the use of a potent psychedelic drug, ibogaine.”

A neighbor who identified as “Trish” told Shellenberger: “What I know about the family is that they’re very radical activists.”

“They seem very left. They are all about the Black Lives Matter movement. Gay pride. But they’re very detached from reality. They have called the cops on several of the neighbors, including us, claiming that we are plotting against them. It’s really weird to see that they are willing to be so aggressive toward somebody else who is also a lefty,” she said.

Linda Schneider, who is an acquaintance of the suspect, told San Francisco’s KRON-TV and CNN she met DePape in 2014, and at the time, he was homeless and a drug addict.

“He [was] likely a mindless follower of something he saw on social media because I don’t think he had the courage to be part of any political or terrorist group,” she said, KRON reported. “His drug use began again and he went off his rocker.”

“In truth, DePape is much more like one of the hundreds of psychotic homeless people I’ve interviewed in recent years than the fanatical climate ideologues who I’ve been writing about in recent weeks,” Shellenberger tweeted in several updates.

“Wrapped up in their obsession with MAGA Republicans, journalists have missed the real story. David DePape is not a microcosm of the political psychosis gripping America in general. Rather, he’s a microcosm of the drug-induced psychosis gripping the West Coast in particular,” he added.

“David DePape is not a microcosm of the political psychosis gripping America in general. Rather, he’s a microcosm of the drug-induced psychosis gripping the West Coast in particular,” Shellenberger wrote.

The Wall Street Journal reported that DePape would be arraigned on Tuesday in San Francisco on several felony charges related to his alleged attack on Pelosi.

The man accused of attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband with a hammer was in the country illegally, ICE sources told The Post Monday.

David DePape, who was hit with federal and local charges Monday in the violent attack on 82-year-old Paul Pelosi, was in the US illegally because he overstayed his visa, according to sources.

The 42-year-old suspect was born in Canada in 1980 and was in the US as early as 2001, sources said, citing his valid social security number that can only be obtained with a job.

Pelosi Neighbor Breaks Silence, Says Home Was Extremely Secure
Carmine Sabia, November 2, 2022

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her husband, Paul Pelosi, had very tight security at their home and it has one former neighbor stunned that a break-in could happen at the house.

The former neighbor, Marjorie Campbell, said that neighbors’ computers would get scrambled due to security measures, and if a glass broke an alarm was sounded and there was an immediate police response, The Daily Mail reported. That is why she was stunned to read that Paul Pelosi had to call 911 himself to get the police to respond to David DePape breaking in and assaulting him.

“There were black cars outside that house, particularly up on Normandie Terrace, all of the time,” the 66-year-old said. “I don’t distinguish between her being there and not being there. There were always multiple cars. Everybody in the neighborhood had alarms on our windows. So if glass smashed, an alarm went off. We all had alarms that had chimed if the door opened or closed.”

Gavin DeBecker, who handled security for Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, said he was stunned at the security.

“There is absolutely no security assigned to the Pelosi house. There is security provided by the US Capitol Police for the Speaker of the House personally, with her when she travels or appears publicly, but no security is provided for spouses or family of members of Congress. So, there was no security to get around,” he said.

“I don’t know if a security system was on or not, but it appears not,” he said.

“I think it is likely that Paul Pelosi will receive some official protection for a time,” he said. “They also have the ability to hire security on their own, by which I mean they have the financial ability.”

The Department of Justice issued a press release on the suspect and the charges.

“A California man was charged today with assault and attempted kidnapping in violation of federal law in connection with the break-in at the residence of Nancy and Paul Pelosi in San Francisco on Friday,” the department said.

“According to the complaint, David Wayne DePape, 42, of Richmond, was arrested on Friday inside the Pelosi residence by San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) police officers responding to a 911 call from Paul Pelosi, husband of U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Paul Pelosi later described to police that he had been asleep when DePape, whom he had never seen before, entered his bedroom looking for Nancy Pelosi,” it said.

“According to the complaint, minutes after the 911 call, two police officers responded to the Pelosi residence where they encountered Paul Pelosi and DePape struggling over a hammer. Officers told the men to drop the hammer, and DePape allegedly gained control of the hammer and swung it, striking Pelosi in the head. Officers immediately restrained DePape, while Pelosi appeared to be unconscious on the ground. As set forth in the complaint, once DePape was restrained, officers secured a roll of tape, white rope, a second hammer, a pair of rubber and cloth gloves, and zip ties from the crime scene, where officers also observed a broken glass door to the back porch,” the department said.

“DePape is charged with one count of assault of an immediate family member of a United States official with the intent to retaliate against the official on account of the performance of official duties, which carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. DePape is also charged with one count of attempted kidnapping of a United States official on account of the performance of official duties, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison,” it said.

“U.S. Attorney Stephanie M. Hinds for the Northern District of California, Special Agent in Charge Robert K. Tripp of the FBI San Francisco Field Office, and Chief J. Thomas Manger of the U.S. Capitol Police made the announcement,” the department said.

“The Special Prosecutions Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California is prosecuting the case.

“The FBI San Francisco Field Office, the U.S. Capitol Police, and the San Francisco Police Department are investigating the case,” it said.

Details emerge in Paul Pelosi attack: A break-in, conversation, 911 call, then violence
Bart Jansen, USA TODAY
Fri, November 4, 2022 at 11:27 AM

Paul Pelosi awoke twice in the early hours of Oct. 28. The first time he groggily discovered a hammer-wielding intruder in his bedroom asking for his wife, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The second time, he regained consciousness in a pool of his own blood, having suffered a fractured skull grappling with the assailant in front of police.

State and federal prosecutors who charged the suspect – David DePape, 42, of Richmond, California – with attempting to murder Paul Pelosi said he was on a suicide mission, threatening to kneecap Nancy Pelosi and hunt down other unspecified public officials, according to court documents.

“It is certainly something that has unnerved us all,” San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins told reporters of the attack, referring to tragedies with past political leaders such as the 1978 assassinations of San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and city Supervisor Harvey Milk. “It’s something we have to take very seriously.”

Paul Pelosi released from hospital: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband left a San Francisco hospital Thursday

DePape, who is being held at the San Francisco County Jail, faces 13 years to life in prison if convicted of state charges including attempted murder, burglary and elder abuse. He has pleaded not guilty and has a hearing scheduled for Friday. Federal prosecutors charged him with assault on a relative of a federal official and attempted kidnapping of a federal official.

Paul Pelosi was released from the hospital Thursday.

Here is what we know about the attack that began just after 2 a.m., from court records and news conferences, as authorities piece together police reports, video from body-worn cameras, a recording of the 911 call and other evidence:

DePape is accused of attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband with a hammer.

A break-in, a startling wake-up and then a question: ‘Where’s Nancy?’

DePape allegedly said he knew he would be caught on Ring security cameras positioned around the exterior of the Pacific Heights house. But he was surprised to find Paul Pelosi, 82, still asleep after the noise he made smashing the window of a glass door to get inside.

Pelosi, who was sleeping in a pajama top and boxer shorts, startled awake to find DePape allegedly standing over him with a hammer in his right hand and several white zip ties in his left hand.

“Are you Paul Pelosi?” DePape allegedly asked. “Where’s Nancy? Where’s Nancy?”

Pelosi responded groggily after being awakened. “She’s not here,” he said.

“Well, when is she coming back?” DePape asked.

“She’s in Washington, she’s not going to be back for a couple of days,” Pelosi said.

DePape then threatened to tie up Paul Pelosi about 10 times.

“OK, well, I’m going to tie you up,” DePape said.

Paul Pelosi stood up and tried to leave by an elevator near the bedroom, but DePape held the door and prevented his escape. DePape later told police he blocked the door because he thought it led to a safe room.

Pelosi then sat back down on the bed and asked why DePape wanted to see his wife.

“Well, she’s No. 2 in line for the presidency, right?” DePape allegedly said. “We’ve got to take them all out.”

Pelosi asked if he could call anyone for DePape, but he allegedly “ominously responded that it was the end of the road for Mr. Pelosi.”

Capitol Police chief: 'More resources' needed after attack on Paul Pelosi

'Uh, I've got a problem': Paul Pelosi calls 911 with DePape watching

Pelosi then asked to use the bathroom, which DePape allowed. Pelosi’s cellphone was charging in the bathroom, so he turned it on and called 911 at 2:23 a.m. and put the phone on its speaker function.

DePape later told police he knew the call was being recorded but felt Pelosi had pushed him into a corner by making the call. DePape watched him from about 3 feet away while still holding the hammer and zip ties. During the call, Pelosi explained to the dispatcher a man was waiting for Nancy Pelosi to come back, but that she wouldn’t be back for about a day. DePape gestured and told Pelosi to get off the phone.

To defuse the situation, Paul Pelosi told the dispatcher that he did not need police, fire, or medical assistance. But Pelosi then asked for Capitol Police because they are usually at the house protecting his wife. The San Francisco police dispatcher, Heather Grives, said he called city police and Pelosi said he understood.

“I don’t know, what do you think?” Pelosi asked DePape. Another man was heard responding: “Everything’s good.”

“Uh, he thinks everything’s good,” Pelosi told Grives. “Uh, I’ve got a problem, but he thinks everything’s good.”

The dispatcher told Pelosi to call back if he changed his mind.

“No, no, no, this gentleman just uh came into the house uh and he wants to wait for my wife to come home,” Pelosi said.

The dispatcher asked if Pelosi knew the man and he said he didn’t. The dispatcher then asked for Pelosi’s name and address, which Pelosi gave him. DePape then told him to put the phone down.

The dispatcher asked for the man’s name and he replied, “My name is David.” When the dispatcher asked who David is, Paul Pelosi said he didn’t know.

“I’m a friend of theirs,” DePape said.

But Pelosi said again he didn’t know the man.

“No, he wants me to get the hell off the phone,” Pelosi said.

The dispatcher offered to stay on the line but sent police officers to the house when the intruder forced Pelosi to hang up. The dispatcher issued an “A” priority well-being check.

What we know: What we know about attack on Paul Pelosi, federal charges against David DePape

‘I can take you out': Pelosi and DePape go downstairs, a struggle occurs, then police arrive
After the call, DePape said he was tired and needed to sleep. But he also said he had a backpack downstairs with “a whole bunch of stuff inside,” according to court records.

DePape walked behind Pelosi as they headed downstairs. Turning on the lights, Pelosi could see where DePape entered the house. DePape allegedly said he had to bash windows in the glass door several times to break through.

DePape said the police would be there any minute. Pelosi tried to calm him down by saying they wouldn’t.

“I can take you out,” DePape said.

DePape came around Pelosi with the hammer in his right hand. Pelosi, who feared DePape would strike him, grabbed the hammer’s handle.

At 2:31 a.m. – about two minutes after the 911 call ended – Police Officers Kolby Wilmes and Kyle Cagney arrived at the house. Wilmes rang the doorbell, but DePape told Pelosi not to open it.

Pelosi opened the door with his left hand. In the dimly lit foyer, Pelosi nervously but calmly greeted the officers.

“Everything’s good,” DePape replied, when the officers asked what was going on.

When an officer turned on his flashlight, police could see DePape was holding the hammer with one hand and Pelosi’s right arm with the other. Pelosi had his hand on the top of the hammer.

“Drop the hammer!” one officer said.

“Um, nope,” DePape allegedly replied, and raised the hammer. DePape allegedly then tried to pull the hammer away from Pelosi and wrenched his right arm.

At the same time, Pelosi said: “Hey, hey, hey.” But he couldn’t keep his grip on the hammer.

“What is going on here?” an officer asked.

DePape allegedly wrestled the hammer away from Pelosi, stepped back and lunged for Pelosi, striking him in the head with full force.

The blow knocked Pelosi unconscious. The two officers rushed into the house and tackled DePape and disarmed him.

Pelosi remained unresponsive for about three minutes. He woke up in a pool of his own blood.

“The suspect pulled the hammer away from Mr. Pelosi and violently assaulted him with it,” San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott told reporters. “Our officers immediately tackled the suspect, disarmed him, took him into custody, requested emergency backup and rendered medical aid.”

Fire Department medics took Pelosi to San Francisco General Hospital, where he had surgery for a skull fracture and serious injuries to his right arm and hands.

San Francisco Police Officer Ariane Starks interviewed Pelosi in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Pelosi said he didn’t know DePape. In another interview two days later, Paul Pelosi said the hammer didn’t belong to his family.

DePape’s lawyer, deputy public defender Adam Lipson, told reporters after a detention hearing the suspect suffered a dislocated shoulder “during his arrest."

San Francisco DA:: Dispatcher's handling of Paul Pelosi's 911 call 'may have saved his life'

DePape 'came here to have a little chat' with Nancy Pelosi

Once the scuffle ended, San Francisco Police officers asked if anyone else was in the house. DePape allegedly said he acted alone. He looked at the glass door and allegedly said that was where he broke in. The laminated glass was broken near the door handle.

Police found a cellphone, cash, “clipper” cards for San Francisco’s transit system and an unidentified card from the right pocket of DePape’s shorts. When they asked for his identification, he allegedly said it might be in his backpack on the back porch, near the broken door.

In the backpack, police found a second hammer, a laptop and more bags of zip ties. The backpack also contained a journal, roll of tape, white rope and two pairs of gloves, one rubber and one cloth. A day later, during the search of a Richmond garage where DePape was staying, FBI agents seized two hammers, a sword, motor vehicle paperwork, IRS letters and Paypal credit cards.

DePape allegedly explained to officers and medics at the scene what he tried to accomplish.

“I’m sick of the insane fucking level of lies coming out of Washington, D.C.,” DePape said. “I came here to have a little chat with his wife.”

'Heartbroken and traumatized': Nancy Pelosi shares first comments since attack on her husband Paul Pelosi

DePape allegedly admitted he intended to take Nancy Pelosi hostage and “break her kneecaps” if she “lied” to him. Then she could be “wheeled into Congress, which would show other members of Congress there were consequences to actions,” according to court records.

DePape said hurting Paul Pelosi wasn’t his goal.

“I didn’t really want to hurt him, but you know this was a suicide mission,” DePape allegedly added. “I’m not going to stand here and do nothing even if it cost me my life.”

“I told him before I attacked him, that he’s escalating things and I will go through him if I have to,” DePape allegedly said.

While chatting in the bedroom, DePape allegedly told Pelosi he couldn’t be stopped because he had other targets. DePape later allegedly told police his targets included a local professor, several prominent state and federal politicians and relatives of those officials.

“There has also been a lot of speculation regarding Mr. DePape’s vulnerability to misinformation,” said Lipson, his lawyer. “That’s certainly something we’re going to look into, that we’re going to delve into, as his defense team.”

Scott, the police chief, said the department is working with Capitol Police to make the house more secure.

“This has shaken a lot of people,” he said.

DePape allegedly explained to investigators why he didn’t leave after Paul Pelosi called 911. FBI Special Agent Stephanie Minor said DePape compared his efforts to "the American founding fathers with the British, he was fighting against tyranny without the option of surrender.”

NBC silent after retracting Paul Pelosi report under mysterious circumstances
A report that aired on 'Today' was pulled after it went viral on Twitter

On Friday's installment of "Today," NBC News national correspondent Miguel Almaguer went viral for stunning revelations of what apparently transpired when police arrived to Pelosi's San Francisco home.

"Sources familiar with what unfolded in the Pelosi residence now revealing when officers responded to the 'high priority call,' they were seemingly unaware they've been called to the home of the Speaker of the House," Almaguer told viewers. "After a 'knock and announce,' the front door was opened by Mr. Pelosi. The 82-year-old did not immediately declare an emergency or tried to leave his home but instead began walking several feet back into the foyer toward the assailant and away from police. It's unclear if the 82-year-old was already injured or what his mental state was, say sources."

Paul Pelosi, much like Nancy, gets hammered Empty
PostSubject: Pelosi Misinformation 'Came From Republicans-   Paul Pelosi, much like Nancy, gets hammered EmptySat Nov 05, 2022 7:28 pm

11-5-2022

Pelosi misinformation 'came from all levels of Republican politics'.

Republicans "fed a misinformation loop" after the husband of Speaker Nancy Pelosi was attacked by someone who believed far-right conspiracy theories
in San Francisco.

"Within hours of the brutal attack last month on Paul Pelosi, the husband of the speaker of the House, activists and media outlets on the right began circulating groundless claims — nearly all of them sinister, and many homophobic — casting doubt on what had happened,"

The New York Times reported Saturday. "Some Republican officials quickly joined in, rushing to suggest that the bludgeoning of an octogenarian by a suspect obsessed with right-wing conspiracy theories was something else altogether, dismissing it as an inside job, a lover’s quarrel or worse.
The misinformation came from all levels of Republican politics."

The newspaper listed 21 elected officials, candidates and "other prominent figures who spread misinformation or cast doubt on the attack.

The list of politicians includes Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Arizona state Sen. Wendy Rogers, and Florida state Rep. Anthony Sabatini.

The list of other prominent figures includes Fox News personality Tucker Carlson, conspiracy theorist Dinesh D'Souza, Elon Musk, Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes, dirty trickster Roger Stone, and former President Donald Trump.

"The flood of falsehoods showed how ingrained misinformation has become inside the G.O.P.

Where the reflexive response of the rank and file — and even a few prominent figures — to anything that might cast a negative light on the right is to deflect with more fictional claims, creating a vicious cycle that muddies facts, shifts blame and minimizes violence,"

The Times reported. "It happened after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, which was inspired by Mr. Trump’s lie of a stolen election, and in turn gave rise to more falsehoods.
As Republicans and their right-wing allies tried to play down, deny or invent a different story for what happened, including groundlessly blaming the F.B.I. and antifa. Mr. Pelosi’s attacker is said to have believed some of those tales."

"The San Francisco district attorney said it was imperative for prosecutors to present the facts to the public, given the misinformation circulating widely about the case," the newspaper noted.

"But by then, it was far too late. In a pattern that has become commonplace, a parade of Republicans — helped along by right-wing media personalities including the Fox New host Tucker Carlson, and prominent people including the newly installed Twitter owner Elon Musk, —
had already abetted the viral spread of lies about the attack, distorting the account of what happened before facts could get in the way.

Finding life on far-right websites and the so-called dark web, conspiracy theories and falsehoods leaped from the fringes to the mainstream."

Disinformation is likely to be a focus of the prosecution of Depape.

"According to federal charging documents, Mr. DePape was enthralled by the conspiracy theories that have portrayed Ms. Pelosi as an enemy of the country.
His online activities show him ranting about the 2020 election being stolen, seeming to deny the gassing of Jews at Auschwitz and claiming that schoolteachers were grooming children to be transgender," The Times reported.

"His attorney has said he planned to argue that Mr. DePape was so influenced by disinformation that it should be considered a mitigating circumstance."

It doesn't matter what democraps, their media, and the left wingnuts try to spin it, the republicans are not responsible for the attack on Pelosi.. You can try all you want, it just doesn't flush

...If all involved were more transparent as to what actually happened there would be no room for speculation or theories.. and to single out Carlson is absurd.. I saw his videos about it.. He didn't speculate about any of it. He mostly questioned why nobody is forthcoming about it
... Why is Nancy asking for privacy on the matter?.. Her husband was bashed in the head with a hammer.. Like it or not, that's news.. yet even the cops are silent about what happened .. How did the guy even get on the property? .. How did he break a window and get in the house without triggering an alarm?.. Did Pelosi answer the door when cops arrived?.. If so, why would he then get close enough to the guy to get whacked in the head? .. There are more questions than conspiracy theories.. So the left just sums it up by blaming republican rhetoric...oh, and of course Trump

To hear democrats, the media and the left constantly slobbering about disinformation is nauseating and hypocrisy on fucking steroids, after 4 years, Trump's entire term, listening to Russian collusion lies .. The top brass of the FBI, the CIA, the democrats and their media all claiming Trump was a Russian agent and A puppet of Putin, who got him elected... But that wasn't "election denying" was it.. That wasn't a "~ threat to our democracy~" was it

... I suggest Biden will be impeached when republicans win the house.. Also that Majorka whatever the fuck his name...The DHS clown.. And republicans shouldnt stop there if they're worth a shit at all to the American people

Body-Cam Footage Confirms Paul Pelosi Opened Door for Police, Contradicts DOJ Account
Isaac Schorr | National Review
Thu, November 17, 2022 at 12:24 PM

Newly revealed body-cam footage reportedly contradicts the Department of Justice’s account of the sequence of events that led up to the attack on Paul Pelosi, the husband of outgoing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, confirming that Pelosi opened the door for the police officers who responded to the 911 call he placed from his residence.

While the DOJ claimed in an indictment filed on November 9 that the officers opened the door themselves, body-cam footage viewed by the San Francisco district attorney’s office confirms that it was Pelosi who let them into the home, a source who personally viewed the footage told the NBC Bay Area Investigative Unit.

Pelosi, the officers, and Pelosi’s attacker, David DePape, engaged in a short conversation before DePape attacked Pelosi with a hammer, sending him to the hospital where he underwent brain surgery. The DOJ did not respond to a request for comment from Shaban.

The account of what transpired provided by the DOJ in the DePape indictment also contradicted the account the alleged attacker initially provided to police. According to the criminal complaint filed by the DOJ detailing DePape’s arrest, he told police that Pelosi opened the door. It’s unclear what evidence emerged in the time between the criminal complaint and the indictment that led to the change in the official account of what transpired.

During a conversation with District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, Shaban asked why Pelosi did not exit the home after officers arrived. Jenkins said she couldn’t “speculate,” but also suggested that “he [Pelosi] will one day need to explain, right, to potentially a jury why he did what he did.”

Shaban’s reporting seems to confirm at least parts of the report that Miguel Almaguer delivered on the attack on NBC’s Today show on November 4. During the segment, Almaguer’s suggested that Pelosi opened the door for police and did not declare an emergency or otherwise indicate that he was in danger.

“The front door was opened by Mr. Pelosi. He did not declare an emergency or try to leave his home, instead began walking several feet back towards the assailant and away from police,” Almaguer reported, citing “sources familiar with what unfolded in the Pelosi residence.”

Critics charged Almaguer with fueling conspiracy theories about the attack, and the network pulled the segment from all of its platforms, issuing a statement that asserted that “The piece should not have aired because it did not meet NBC News reporting standards.”

It was revealed earlier this week that Almaguer has been suspended by NBC.

NBC sources told the Washington Post that Almaguer was incorrect in suggesting that Pelosi did not inform police that he was in danger when he answered the door, a detail which was based on reportedly unreliable information provided by an unnamed source.

Man guilty of assault in Paul Pelosi hammer attack

A man who attacked the husband of former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been found guilty by a jury in San Francisco.

The assailant, David DePape, was convicted of assault and attempted kidnapping of a federal official.

The attack left Paul Pelosi, 83, in hospital for six days with a fractured skull and other injuries.

DePape, who tearfully apologised for the attack in his Tuesday testimony, now faces up to 50 years in prison.

He was convicted on Thursday after a week-long trial at the Phillip Burton Federal Courthouse in downtown San Francisco.

As the unanimous verdict was read, he kept his eyes down, fidgeting with his fingers.

Video evidence shows the attacker, a Canadian citizen who has lived in the US for 20 years, breaking into the Pelosi home in San Francisco with a hammer on 28 October last year.

Once inside, he asked for Mrs Pelosi, who was not home at the time.

When asked to drop the weapon, DePape abruptly swung the hammer at Mr Pelosi before being subdued by officers.

The entire encounter was caught on body camera footage which was played in court.

One of the witnesses, an FBI special agent, testified that the footage showed the attacker striking Mr Pelosi three times.

In his own testimony, Mr Pelosi told the court that during the attack, DePape said his intention was to "take out" Mrs Pelosi, referring to her as "the leader of the pack".

In addition to a fractured skull, Mr Pelosi suffered injuries to his arm and hand.

DePape's court-appointed lawyer Jodi Linker argued that, while her client did attack Mr Pelosi, he did so because he believed in right-wing conspiracy theories with "every ounce of his being".

Ms Linker said DePape blamed what he saw as America's demise on corrupt elites using their status to spread lies, including facilitating the sexual abuse of children.

She argued that DePape was motivated by these conspiracies instead of Mrs Pelosi's government position.

Prosecutors, however, argued that DePape was looking for Mrs Pelosi as part of a "plan of violence".

When he was arrested, he had zip ties and duct tape in his possession.

He also told investigators after the incident that he had a "target list" and planned to hold Mrs Pelosi captive and break "her kneecaps" if she did not reveal "the truth".

On Monday, Mr Pelosi recalled waking up to find DePape "standing in the doorway".

"It was a tremendous shock, looking at him, looking at the hammer and the ties," he added. "I recognised I was in serious danger. I tried to stay as calm as possible."

At the time of the attack, Mrs Pelosi was the Speaker of the House of Representatives and one of the most powerful politicians in the US.

DePape now faces up to 20 years in prison for the attempted kidnapping charge, as well as an additional 30 years for assault on a federal official's family member.

DePape is also facing separate state charges stemming from the incident, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and residential burglary.

He could face life in prison if convicted of the more serious state charges. He has pleaded not guilty.

A statement from Mrs Pelosi's office following Thursday's verdict said her husband had "demonstrated extraordinary composure and courage on the night of the attack a year ago and in the courtroom this week".

Mr Pelosi "continues to make progress in his recovery" the statement said, adding that no further comment would be made given the ongoing state proceedings.

"In America, one is free to believe whatever they want and engage in passionate political debate," said US Attorney Ismail Ramsey said outside the court on Thursday. The verdict, he said, sent a clear message that "regardless of what your beliefs are, what you cannot do is physically attack a member of Congress or their immediate family for their performance in their job".
