Published 18 mins ago Maxine Waters reignites calls to impeach President Trump, accuses him of 'conspiring with the Kremlin and oligarchs of Russia' By Liam Quinn | Fox News
Maxine Waters has ramped up her President Trump impeachment talks once again.
The California Democrat seemed to be moving on from pushing impeachment when she admitted it was “never discussed” as a realistic strategy among Democrats. But the congresswoman took a very different tone when speaking to supporters this week.
“Some people say, ‘How dare her (sic) come out and say, 'Impeach him? She doesn't know enough about him to talk about impeaching him.' But now the American people, whether they say it or not, they know that this man is dangerous,” Waters told the Woman’s National Democratic Club dinner on Tuesday.
“That certainly, he conspired with the Kremlin and with the oligarchs of Russia.”
Waters, who has frequently attacked President Trump since he took office, went on to question Attorney General William Barr.
“I know that you are all worried about the special counsel and the fact that we have a report that has been described to us in a letter by the attorney general. We don't know what's in the report yet, and we’re going to demand it,” she said, according to the Washington Examiner.
She then wrapped up the speech with a message to her supporters: “Let me leave you with this: Despite the fact that we haven’t gotten the report yet, and we’re going after it, and it may be subpoenaed, that it is being worked on. I’m still saying impeach 45.”
The fiery promise was in stark contrast to her words from just one week ago.
“I think we do nothing now but concentrate on getting the information, getting that report,” Waters said, in reference to the report by Mueller, the conclusions of which were provided by Barr.
“[Impeachment has] never been discussed as a strategy for this caucus. It’s only a few of us,” she added, according to Politico.
Many Democrats have expressed reservations about going down the impeachment route, with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi warning that the process just isn’t worth pursuing.
“I’m not for impeachment,” Pelosi told the Washington Post Magazine. “Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country.”
She added: “And he’s just not worth it.”
Yet some Democrats, most notably U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., are already working behind the scenes to begin hearings and investigations that would pave way for the impeachment.

Democratic California Rep. Maxine Waters challenged bank executives during a Wednesday morning hearing, appearing to blame them for the student debt crisis.
What she appeared to leave out was the fact that student loans were nationalized nearly a decade ago under former President Barack Obama to cut banks’ ability to offer government-backed loans.
Back in 2010, Obama noted, “By cutting out the middleman, we’ll save the American taxpayers $68 billion in the coming years. That’s real money.”
Forgive her. She knows not what she does.

Published 1 hour ago Maxine Waters says Trump deserves worse than impeachment: Needs 'solitary confinement' By Sam Dorman | Fox News
House Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters, D-Calif., said on Tuesday that President Trump should be placed in "solitary confinement," arguing that the president himself knows that he "deserves impeachment."
@RepMaxineWaters I'm calling on the GOP to stop Trump's filthy talk of whistleblowers being spies & using mob language implying they should be killed. Impeachment is not good enough for Trump. He needs to be imprisoned & placed in solitary confinement. But for now, impeachment is the imperative. 11:19 AM - Oct 1, 2019 Twitter Ads info and privacy 7,934 people are talking about this
@RepMaxineWaters Trump is so irresponsible & so hungry for power & control, he would dare imply that a civil war will ensue if he's impeached. He is dog whistling to his white supremacists to create fear & intimidation b/c he knows he is going to be impeached. He knows he deserves impeachment. 11:17 AM - Oct 1, 2019 Twitter Ads info and privacy 2,319 people are talking about this
Waters' comments came as House Democrats pursued an official impeachment inquiry over a whistleblower report alleging that Trump overstepped his boundaries in a July phone conversation with Ukraine's president in which he raised the subject of Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden. Trump provoked media attention when he hinted on Thursday that the whistleblower should face punishment for his actions.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., announced the inquiry after months of resisting impeachment calls from her fellow Democrats. During a private meeting, she reportedly said she wanted to see Trump "in prison." She's also argued that premature impeachment could doom efforts at prosecuting the president once he leaves office.
CBP commissioner says Chicago's 'reckless' sanctuary city policy will create more American 'victims' Waters also accused the president of "dog whistling to his white supremacists" by tweeting a Texas pastor's quote warning that civil war would result if Trump was removed from office.
"Trump is so irresponsible & so hugnry [sic] for power & control, he would dare imply that a civil war will ensue if he's impeached," Waters tweeted on Tuesday.
Waters added that Attorney General William Barr should also face impeachment, calling him the "worst" law enforcement officer.
@RepMaxineWaters AG Barr is the highest law enforcement officer & the worst. He's supposed to be the people’s lawyer, but he’s just Trump’s puppet. He's been caught soliciting foreign countries' help in undermining his FBI & our Intel agencies. He should be Trump’s companion w/impeachment. 11:24 AM - Oct 1, 2019 3,797 people are talking about this

Waters has long called for Trump's impeachment and, as head of the Financial Services Committee, has helped lead the charge in Democrats' attempts to probe the administration. Specifically, the committee was tasked with investigating Trump's banking records as part of a broader probe into potential money laundering and other improper transactions.
During a CNN interview on Wednesday, the California congresswoman suggested that more information could surface and hurt Trump in the Russia investigation.
"There’s lots more coming from all six of our committees," Waters said. "Whether it is the Intelligence Committee or the Foreign Affairs Committee or the Ways and Means Committee, this president has clearly defined himself in so many ways, disrespected the Constitution of the United States, embraced Putin."

She shoulda resigned a long time ago ...I highly doubt she does much of anything between the public squawking of "Impeach fawdy faive!" ...never gives reason for it ..just belts it out like it's her fuk'n slogan ...prolly goes home after that and doesn't show up till they want her belt it out again somewhere ...she's like a human megaphone with a recording on a loop ...ha ..I can't imagine her doing anything that'd warrant her 6 figure salary

They've been tryin' to get the grand jury transcripts ever since they got the Mueller report ...They're not entitled to them

What makes you believe the republicans have them and are keeping them from the dems? ..When the dems kept tryin' to squeeze AG Barr for them he told them 100 times that it's against the law to release them ...You're sayin' he gave them to the republicans? ...The only thing that was withheld in the Mueller report was info from the grand jury ...dems stomped their feet and shit themselves complaining about not getting grand jury testimony for like a month ...now you're sayin' republicans have them? ...If that's the case then they're not sealed and protected by the court, so democrats don't need to get them from the republicans, they can get them from the court ...so why haven't they done that?

Try to think for a minute ..You claim the republicans have the grand jury transcripts and won't give them to democrats .. so if the democrats don't have them, I can say with absolute certainty that you know less than fuckall what's in the grand jury transcripts, much less jack shit about anything that might cause Trump to be terrified.... Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., warned Friday that President Trump will invite Russian President Vladimir Putin to the White House if the Senate doesn’t remove him.
Waters made the remarks on Twitter after a contentious week in D.C.
“Revelation by former WH officials proves what we've known all along: Trump is #PutinsPuppet,” Waters tweeted. “Trump repeated Putin's talking point that Ukraine, not Russia, interfered in the ‘16 election. Mark my words. If the Senate doesn't remove him, Trump will invite Putin to the WH next yr.”

Waters, a frequent Trump critic, was apparently referring to a Washington Post article that cited multiple former White House officials who claimed on condition of anonymity that Trump seized on the theory that Ukraine, not Russia interfered in the 2016 election because Putin suggested it to him.
One aide told The Post Trump said he believed Ukraine interfered because “Putin told me.”
Waters was one of the more than 200 Democrats and one Independent who voted to impeach the president on Wednesday on abuse of power and obstruction of Congress charges.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has not yet sent the impeachment articles to the Senate where a trial would take place and is considering withholding them until Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell agrees to bring in witnesses the Democrats want to hear from.
Waters has been calling for Trump’s impeachment since 2017.

Maxine Waters' phone call with 'Greta Thunberg' was apparently the work of Russian pranksters By Joseph A. Wulfsohn | Fox News
Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., appeared to have been tricked by Russian pranksters into thinking she was speaking on the phone with Greta Thunberg and that the teenage climate activist had dirt on President Trump.
Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, who go by the names Vovan and Lexus on YouTube, released audio of a phone conversation allegedly between Waters and people she believed to be Thunberg and her father. The audio was accompanied by illustrations poking fun at the conversation.
The conversation began with "Thunberg" telling Waters that she was calling from a climate strike meeting in North Carolina where they were advocating for the protection of the fictitious "Chon-Go-Chango" islands. She asked Waters to make remarks to the meeting attendees, where she showered "Thunberg" with praise.
"Thunberg" then told Waters about a fictitious meeting she said she had with President Trump at the United Nations back in September.
"It was a really terrible meeting in the U.N. building in September with him. And I had nightmares afterwards. It's terrible," the Thunberg impersonator told Waters. "I saw him in the hallway. He was with security and I shouted at him, 'Sign the Paris Climate Agreement again!' He came over, he leaned in towards me, and said softly, 'Listen carefully to me, little girl. You will never achieve your goal, like the congressional goal, trying to accuse me.'"
"He said you will never achieve your goal? Oh my goodness." Waters said with shock. "Did you ask him if he would rethink signing the Paris Climate Agreement? Is that your question to him?"
"Yes, yes," the impersonator said. "He added that ... 'You know what? I'll tell you the truth. I really wanted to push the Ukraine president to put my competitor on trial.'"
Her supposed "father" chimed in.
"He said to her, 'You know, little girl, nobody believe you anyway, I will tell you the truth. I really pushed on Ukrainian president and you know that you will never achieve your goals like those congressional fools who accuse me,” the fictional parent told Waters. "So nobody will believe you. You will be on trial like my competitor."
"Oh, my God! He mentioned Ukrainian president?" Waters asked.
"Yes, he said that," the prankster responded. "And he added, 'Nobody will believe you anyway.'"
The prankster also alleged that his "daughter" always records her speeches and had a recording of her exchange with Trump.
"Are you going to be in Washington anytime soon? I want you to come meet with me in Washington," Waters said.
The "father" suggested that Congress continue with the president's impeachment and offered that the activist can make a speech on Capitol Hill, something Waters expressed interest in.
"We are working very hard. We are putting together the facts and we're going after him," Waters told the "Thunbergs." "We're going to try everything that we have to impeach him. Yes. And if the public knew that he talked to Greta like that, he made her cry, and told her she would never achieve, this would go against him too."
"And he added that he pushed on the Ukrainian president," the prankster father reiterated. "I think he didn't expect that we have a record of that."
"Well, you bring it to me," Waters responded. "You tell me what day you can get there and we'll arrange to meet with you as quickly as we can. ... I will make myself available whenever you get there."
Waters' congressional office did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment.
Waters isn't the only lawmaker to be fooled by the Russian pranksters. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., was also apparently pranked into believing that they had "naked Trump" photos back in 2018.

No big deal-- as said--
“This was just another stupid prank,” she said, “by the same Russian operatives who have targeted many US elected officials, including Adam Schiff, Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell and John McCain, and international heads of state such as Emmanuel Macron.”
It seems unlikely, however, that she will be the last such victim. Kuznetsov and Stolyarov have been at work since 2014, trolling figures including Elton John and Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. US politicians have been regular targets, strengthening claims the Russian pair are connected to political interference programs backed by the Kremlin.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters jumps out of her car to intervene as black man stopped by police The Independent Gino Spocchia, July 20, 2020
California congresswoman Maxine Waters went to assist a black man who was pulled over by police in Los Angeles this weekend.
In a video shared online, Ms Waters parked her SUV and said she intervened to see what Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers were doing when they pulled a black man over.
The black Democrat told the person videoing that “they stopped a brother so I stopped to see what they [the LAPD] were doing”.
She added that police had threatened her with a ticket, and said: “They say I’m in the wrong place”
“They’re going to give me a ticket, but that’s okay, as long as I watch them,” added the congresswoman.
She was then seen walking back towards the police, as another person behind the camera says “you gotta do what you gotta do, make sure”.
Ms Walters responds with “I will”, as the video ends.
Thousands have since watched the 15-second clip on Twitter, where it was shared on Sunday.
It comes almost two months after nationwide demonstrations against police brutality and systemic racism sparked by the death of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, in Minneapolis police custody on Memorial Day.
The Independent has contacted Los Angeles’s police department for comment.

California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters Tests Positive For COVID-19 For Second Time Since April By Dillon Burroughs • Jun 14, 2022 • DailyWire.com
California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters revealed on Tuesday that she has tested positive for COVID-19 after attending the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles.
The positive test marked the congresswoman’s second time testing positive for the coronavirus since April.
“Yesterday, after learning of a potential exposure at the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles, I was notified that I tested positive for COVID. I am currently isolating and have no symptoms,” Waters, who also serves as the chair of the House Committee on Financial Services, shared in a statement.
“I am grateful to be fully vaccinated and to have received two booster shots. If you haven’t received the vaccine and/or booster, I encourage you to do so. I am feeling fine and resting at home,” she added.
Waters had recently appeared at a meeting during the Summit of the Americas with several Democrats in attendance. They included Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY), Rep. Raul Ruiz (D-CA), Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH), Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
When Waters previously tested positive for COVID-19 on April 27, the congresswoman reportedly experienced no symptoms and was also fully vaccinated and had received two booster shots.
Following her previous positive diagnosis, Waters released a similar statement.
“Today, I have received a positive test result for COVID. I am currently isolating and have no symptoms. I am following all protocols as recommended by the Office of the Attending Physician and CDC guidance. I am grateful to be fully vaccinated and to have received two booster shots. Thankfully, I am feeling fine and recommend everyone to get vaccinated if you have not done so already,” she said.
Waters also recently made headlines for requesting data on chattel slavery from top U.S. banks and insurance companies to hold the institutions accountable for any involvement.
“We are writing to inquire about what, if any, research and disclosure your bank has conducted with regard to its, or any of its predecessor institutions’, involvement in the financing of chattel slavery in the United States,” Waters and Texas Democratic Rep. Al Green wrote last week to the nation’s top 10 U.S. banks, top five U.S. property and casualty insurance companies, and top five U.S. life insurance companies.
“In recent years, multiple financial institutions have been compelled to conduct such research and disclose information in compliance with certain state and local laws. Such compelled disclosures revealed clear historical connections to slavery, in the form of lending capital for the purchase of slaves, accepting enslaved people as collateral for loans, taking ownership of enslaved people in events of default on said loans, providing insurance policies to holders of enslaved persons, and executing payment on those policies in events of injury, fatality, and even liberation of those enslaved persons,” they added.

GOP Pushes Ban On Lawmakers Paying Family With Campaign Funds As Waters, Dems Under Fire Martin Walsh, July 19, 2022
California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters has paid her daughter over $1.2 million in total over the last decade and it’s all been legal.
Now, Republicans are aiming to put a ban on lawmakers from putting family members on the campaign payroll after many prominent Democrats have been called out over the practice.
“The Family Integrity to Reform Elections (FIRE) Act, to be introduced by Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas) on Monday, would bar any candidate running for federal office from compensating immediate family members for campaign services,” the New York Post reported.
“It is currently legal for lawmakers to employ family members to work on campaigns. However, Federal Election Commission regulations prohibit paying candidate relatives a salary unless they are ‘providing bona fide services to the campaign” and the salary represents “fair market value of the services provided.’ The legislation – first reviewed by The Post – would extend the ban to any political committee ‘established, maintained or controlled by a candidate or an individual holding Federal office’ – blocking any current lawmaker from compensating a family member for working on their campaign,” the report added.
“Fallon’s bill would also require campaigns to report any payments made to a candidate’s immediate family members. Relatives who fall under the proposed ban would include spouses, parents, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, and domestic partners as well as the spouses of campaign committee members. If the bill becomes law, any candidate who violates the ban would face a fine of either $100,000 for each violation or twice the amount paid to the family members — whichever is greater — and/or imprisonment for up to two years. The campaign committee would not be permitted to reimburse the candidate for any of the penalties,” the report continued.
“Maxine Waters [paid] $1.1 million to her daughter from campaign funds,” Fallon told The Post in a statement. “Ilhan Omar, $2.9 million to her husband from campaign funds. James Clyburn, over $200,000 to multiple family members from his campaign.”
Waters paid her daughter another $24,000 in campaign cash during the most recent quarter. Last year, Waters funneled more than $1 million from her various campaigns to her daughter Karen Waters.
However, Waters is not the only Democrat doing this.
House Majority Whip James Clyburn, a Democrat from South Carolina, has paid his grandson $21,000 in campaign funds since April 1.
“Clyburn paid Walter A.C. Reed, the son of his daughter Jennifer Clyburn Reed and son-in-law Walter A. Reed, $21,000 during the Federal Election Commission’s (FEC) second fundraising quarter, the third-ranking House Democrat’s FEC filings show. Reed, a salaried employee of the Clyburn campaign, has been paid $58,500 by the Friends of Jim Clyburn campaign committee since October 2021. Friends of Jim Clyburn also paid $7,500 in rent to 49 Magnolia Blossom LLC, a corporate entity controlled by Jennifer Clyburn Reed and Walter A. Reed,” the Daily Caller reported.
Connecticut Democratic Rep. Jahana Hayes has also been paying her family tens of thousands of dollars with campaign funds since entering Congress. During the second quarter of this year, Hayes paid her son David Crenshaw $1,245.65 from her campaign fund. Since entering Congress, she has paid her son $18,283.08.
Democratic Rep. Conor Lamb doled out nearly $100,000 in campaign cash to his brother to help lead his failed Pennsylvania Senate effort.

Waters Pays Daughter More Campaign Money As GOP Aims To Ban Practice Martin Walsh, December 15, 2022

“The numbers speak for themselves,” Fallon added. “Americans are sick of politicians abusing their voters’ hard-earned money. This modern-day spoils system must end. My bill shines light on shady campaign finance practices while punishing those who take advantage of these funds to enrich their families.”
The Washinton Examiner reported:
Waters’s campaign shelled out $8,000 in September to Karen Waters, a surplus to the over $1 million her daughter has raked in from the campaign since 2003, according to Federal Election Commission filings. But scrutiny over lawmakers paying family members with campaign money has heightened as of late, with some Republicans aiming to bar the practice through legislation.
The over $1 million given to Karen Waters, including the $8,000, has been for slate-mailer operations. Karen Waters has also been paid for things such as “administrative services,” “fundraising,” and “rally expenses,” according to filings.
Waters came under fire a few months ago for paying daughter another $24,000 in campaign cash during the most recent quarter.
“Karen Waters, who has been organizing slate-mailing operations to bolster her mother’s re-election for nearly two decades, and her company, Progressive Connections, have received more than $1.2 million since 2003 for campaign services, including ‘slate mailer management’ fees and ‘campaign managing services,'” Fox News reported.
“A Citizens for Waters campaign committee filing from earlier this week shows that the younger Waters received $24,000 from the committee between January and March 2022. Slate-mailing is an uncommon practice in federal elections, where a consulting firm is hired to create a pamphlet of sorts that contains a list of candidates or policy measures and advises voters on how to cast their ballots,” the report added.
“Rep. Waters was reportedly the only federal politician to use a slate-mailer operation during the 2020 general election,” the Fox News report continued. “While it’s legal for federal lawmakers to employ family members on campaigns, the practice is generally frowned upon by ethics experts.”
Last year it was reported that Waters had funneled more than $1 million from her various campaigns to her daughter Karen Waters, Fox News reported.
Karen Waters received over $1.1 million for her services with her mother’s campaigns — $250,000 of which came from the most recent election cycle, reported the Federal Election Commission.
The daughter of the California Democrat organized slate-mailing operations to bolster her mother’s re-election.

But for Waters, it is all in the family as it is not only her daughter Karen who has cashed in on the gravy train.
A report in 2004 by The Los Angeles Times showed that various members of the Waters family were paid more than $1 million in the eight years prior to that story being written, and that was more than 16 years ago.

Maxine Waters is still alive, amazing. I haven't seen her anywhere for a very long time.. And-- great idea- no nepotism.. The Romanovs family is a good example as are the trumps.. in America, it is extremely rare for a president to bring the president's family into power along with him.

Republicans Unveil Bill to Prevent Campaign Funds From Going To Candidate’s Immediate Family Martin Walsh, May 10, 2023
California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters has paid her daughter over $1.2 million in total over the last decade and it’s all been legal. Now, Republicans are aiming to put a ban on lawmakers from putting family members on the campaign payroll after many prominent Democrats have been called out over the practice.
Republican Texas Rep. Pat Fallon has introduced legislation called the Family Integrity to Reform Elections Act, which would prevent campaign funds from going to a candidate’s immediate family. The bill, if passed, would also make the candidate directly responsible for knowingly violating the provision.
“The Family Integrity to Reform Elections (FIRE) Act is a critical step to reducing nepotistic practices in American campaigns. Allowing direct family members to be on the take of campaigns must come to an end. For example, Maxine Waters, the worst perpetrator, has given her daughter over $1.1 million in campaign funds. This is utterly egregious, and I will not stand by as the integrity of our elections is further diminished,” Fallon said.
The bill would not be good for Waters.
“Waters’ campaign shelled out $8,000 in September to Karen Waters, a surplus to the over $1 million her daughter has raked in from the campaign since 2003, according to Federal Election Commission filings. But scrutiny over lawmakers paying family members with campaign money has heightened as of late, with some Republicans aiming to bar the practice through legislation,” the Washinton Examiner reported.
“The over $1 million given to Karen Waters, including the $8,000, has been for slate-mailer operations. Karen Waters has also been paid for things such as “administrative services,” “fundraising,” and “rally expenses,” according to filings. Waters came under fire a few months ago for paying daughter another $24,000 in campaign cash during the most recent quarter,” the outlet added.
Over the summer, the New York Post published a similar report.
“Maxine Waters [paid] $1.1 million to her daughter from campaign funds,” Fallon told The Post in a statement. “Ilhan Omar, $2.9 million to her husband from campaign funds. James Clyburn, over $200,000 to multiple family members from his campaign.”
“The numbers speak for themselves,” Fallon added. “Americans are sick of politicians abusing their voters’ hard-earned money. This modern-day spoils system must end. My bill shines light on shady campaign finance practices while punishing those who take advantage of these funds to enrich their families.”
It’s legal for federal lawmakers to employ family members on campaigns, but the practice is frowned upon by ethics experts.
Last year it was reported that Waters had funneled more than $1 million from her various campaigns to her daughter Karen Waters, Fox News reported.
