Smuggling gangs in Mexico have been able to breach new sections of President Donald Trump's border wall in recent months, according to a new report from The Washington Post.

Citing US agents and officials with knowledge of the damage, the Post reported that smugglers have been using reciprocating saws to cut through the steel and concrete portions of the wall, creating openings wide enough for people and drugs to be smuggled through.
The agents told the Post the saws can cut through the bollards in a matter of minutes. Engineers told the newspaper that because of the height of the bollards, which are between 18 to 30 feet tall, it's easier to push the steel out of the way to pass through the other side.

When a breach is detected, a welding crew is sent to fix the opening, the newspaper reported.
Smugglers also attempt to hide a breach in the barrier, by returning the cut in the bollard to its original position or using a putty that looks like the hole has been fixed, so that they can keep using that opening, according to the Post.

Agents told the newspaper that despite fixing and welding the damaged bollards, smugglers still return to the same spot because the metal and the concrete at the bollards' cores have already been weakened.
The Post reported that some of the damage has occurred in parts where electronic sensors that detect sawing vibrations have not yet been installed.
Smugglers also deploy makeshift ladders to climb up and over the barriers in the San Diego area, and then use hooks to hang rope ladders on the other side, according to the Post.

Trump's signature campaign promise was building the wall on the US-Mexico and having Mexico pay for it.
On a visit to a site in San Diego in September, Trump touted the wall, saying it's "virtually impenetrable."
So far, US taxpayers have been footing the bill for efforts to build new physical barriers at the southern border.

Mexico is Not paying for it, we are.

Bullshit ...How many minutes? ...60? ...120? .. Say they need to cut 3 columns to get through, allegedly with their smuggled whatever .. they'd need to make 6 cuts .. There would be no electricity available so they'd be using battery powered saws ...to cut through steel and concrete they'd need dozens of new blades because they'd dull immediately in those materials ...they'd also need as many batteries because the strain on the saw would wear them down in no time

I've cut steel car frames, trailer frames, most things imaginable with *electric* sawz-alls, which are much more aggressive and powerful than battery powered saws, and the blades dull, bend, and need to be replaced constantly, not to mention binding with any pressure on the site of the cut, which is inevitable cutting vertical columns with all that weight ...and the task is not a quiet one by any means ...it'd be heard a mile away

This contradicts the 2 year claim from the left that the smuggling is all done primarily through the ports of entry and any smuggling between them is insignificant and not worth the attempts to prevent it .... Now that a wall is being built there are suddenly smuggling gangs breaching it, as if they changed strategy and decided instead to go through a fuk'n wall that was never there before

A few short weeks ago Temple was slobbering that there was no wall being built .. Now he's posting to criticize the wall that he claimed wasn't being built ...They're constantly moving the goal posts and Trump keeps scoring anyway ...ha

White House to set up cameras to livestream border wall construction: report

President Trump’s senior adviser Jared Kushner and other White House officials are planning to set up web cameras to livestream construction along the border wall, according to a report.

Kushner first offered the proposal during a July meeting, pitching the idea as a way to confront criticism that Trump has not followed through on his signature 2016 campaign promise, The Washington Post reported, citing unnamed officials

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and senior U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials have told Kushner they’re opposed to the initiative because certain construction contractors do not want their proprietary techniques shown to competitors, the sources told the Post.

Trump reportedly asked Kushner to reinvent messaging and communication about the border wall project after the government shutdown last year. The current website for the CBP shows information about construction along the border, but a new site, currently being designing by Trump administration’s chief digital officer Ory Rinat, will reportedly incorporate the live camera feeds, allowing the public to visibly track the wall’s progress.

Under the Trump administration, 81 miles of border wall, most of which was built as "replacement" barrier to reinforce older fencing, has been completed. The new barriers built of steel bollards stand anywhere from 18 to 30 feet tall.

An additional 155 miles of border fencing is currently under construction. And 273 miles are under “preconstruction,” according to the most recent CBP data. The Trump administration aims to complete a total of 400 to 500 miles of border wall to complete the project. The project has been facing delays as officials work to acquire privately held land in Texas along the U.S.-Mexico border. It has cost taxpayers $10 million to date, the Post reported.
