When I was just 18, I bought an acre in the woods up in the mountains about 25 miles from the nearest town (Evergreen CO), with plans to build an a-frame cabin and to avoid the hustle of the city.
Never did build the cabin, but certainly enjoyed the fresh air, the hiking around.
Sold the land to get a down payment for my first house, because I had a "real" job, and I needed to live in Denver.
I still miss that land to this day.
I enjoy watching the wilderness shows on TV, especially the ones where people build their own place and live of the grid, but I doubt I could ever live the life that the guy in this video does.
