Calls for the resignation of Democrat John Kerry, the Biden administration’s Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, picked up steam on Monday following an explosive report published over the weekend in which Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Kerry told him that Israel was behind hundreds of attacks on Iranian assets in Syria.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and State Department spokesman Ned Price both refused to comment on the report when asked about it on Monday, saying that they do not comment on leaked materials.
Kerry decided to respond to it after Price and Psaki both declined, claiming, “I can tell you that this story and these allegations are unequivocally false. This never happened — either when I was Secretary of State or since.”
Free Beacon reporter Chuck Ross noted that Kerry did not specify what which part of the story he claims is false.
“If this tape is verified, it would signal catastrophic and disqualifying recklessness by Envoy Kerry to Foreign Minister Zarif that endangered the safety of Americans and our allies,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said in a statement to The Daily Wire. “And it would be consistent with his long pattern of empowering Iran’s regime. Kerry poured hundreds of billions of dollars into the Ayatollah’s terrorist bank accounts, was a close confidant with Zarif during the Obama administration, and was caught repeatedly meeting with him during the Trump administration (notwithstanding the Logan Act) — and has never publicly accounted for what they discussed.”
Mike Pompeo, former secretary of state and CIA director, told the Free Beacon that the report proved “what I’ve said for years: That [Zarif] continued to engage with former secretary of state Kerry on policy matters after Kerry’s public service and, according to Zarif, Kerry informed the Iranians of Israeli operations.”
Pompeo continued, “Before we cut a deal with Iran that reduces Americans’ security, it would be good to know what the arrangement, if any, may have been between these two leaders.”
Other notable responses to the report include:
Rep. Elise Stafanik (R-NY): “his is a criminal act and John Kerry must be immediately investigated and PROSECUTED. President Biden must immediately remove John Kerry from any government or advisory position.”
Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley: “This is disgusting on many levels. Biden and Kerry have to answer for why Kerry would be tipping off Iran, the number one sponsor of terror, while stabbing one of our greatest partners, Israel, in the back.”
Donald Trump Jr.: “Imagine for a second a Trump official sitting on the NSC, like Kerry does, told Iran details about Israeli strikes? I believe the media would be screaming TREASON and they wouldn’t be too far off, but of course they’ll say and do nothing because they’re useless propagandists.”
Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN): “John Kerry must resign immediately. The investigation should be retrospective.”
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR): “These reports are concerning—I’d like the opportunity to ask Secretary Kerry about this in a closed hearing.”
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN): “If intel leak rumors are true, John Kerry should seriously consider resignation.”
Sens. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) and Rick Scott (R-FL) both called for Kerry to resign.

State Department spokesman Ned Price on Monday noted the widespread reporting on Israel’s strikes and implied that even if Kerry had made the comments, the existence of the strikes was public knowledge.
“I would just make the broad point that if you go back and look at press reporting from the time, this certainly was not secret,” Price said. “And governments that were involved were speaking to this publicly, on the record.”
Some Republican officials attacked Kerry in the wake of the Times report, accusing him of leaking Israeli military secrets. Kerry, who now serves as US President Joe Biden’s special envoy on the climate crisis, was already under fire from the GOP over those policies.
However, others in the party urged a more cautious approach to Zarif’s comments.
The most recent time a high-level US official was accused of divulging Israeli military secrets was 2017, when then-president Donald Trump told Russia of intelligence that reportedly came specifically from a spy embedded in the Islamic State terrorist group on behalf of Israel.
The spy was also reportedly a major asset in gaining information on the actions of Iran in Syria — through its Revolutionary Guard Corps and Lebanese proxy Hezbollah. The leak reportedly placed the person’s life at risk and Israeli intelligence officials were said to have been outraged by Trump’s actions.
Zarif made the comments about Kerry in an hours-long taped conversation that took place last March as part of an oral history project. A copy was leaked to the UK-based Persian language news channel Iran International, which is viewed as hostile to Iran and is owned by Saudi Arabians.

Just yesterday we were told that John Kerry ratted out Israel claiming they attacked Iranian targets in Syria 200 times. Kerry denies the leak because he would never divulge state secrets.
The Israelis must feel betrayed. They have felt that the Biden administration is not going to be friendly towards them. They have not felt like this since Biden was vice president. They object to Biden restoring the money to the Jihad schools, where children are taught to become Islamic extremists.
Now, we learn there is a recording of Kerry telling Syrian revolutionaries that Obama had decided against attacks against the Syrian regime.
That makes two breaches of confidential information.
It could be considered treason or at least a violation of the Espionage ACT, punishable by up to 5 years per violation. But, since he is a Democrat it’s not worth our time trying to get justice.

“The problem is the Russians don’t care about international law and we do. And we don’t have a basis, our lawyers tell us, unless we have a Security Council resolution,” he said.
“They were invited in, we were not,” he added, referring to Moscow’s military operations in Syria.
“We don’t behave like Russians. It’s just a different standard,” Kerry said.
“The only reason they are letting us fly is because we are going after ISIL,” Kerry said, using another term for ISIS. “If we were going after Assad, we would have to take out all the air defenses and we don’t have a legal justification for doing that.”
Kerry added, “So far, American legal theory does not buy into the so-called right to protect.”
“Nobody (is) more frustrated than me,” Kerry told the gathering.
Acknowledging that Russia’s military actions have “changed the equation” and made removing Assad more difficult, Kerry suggested that Syrian refugees could one day help eject Assad if given the right to vote.
Asked about the recording, State Department spokesman John Kirby told CNN, “While we will decline to comment on a private conversation, Secretary Kerry was grateful for the chance to meet with this group of Syrians, to hear their concerns firsthand and to express our continued focus on ending this civil war.”
The bottom line is that John Kerry wanted to bomb the hell out of Syria and Obama just said no. Then like a jilted suitor Kerry feels obligated to place blame on Obama and paint himself as the good guy.

It was a heck of a way to start a week as the evening newscasts of ABC, CBS, NBC, and Spanish-language networks CNN en Español, Telemundo, and Univision completely blacked out the bombshell leaked audio that suggested former Secretary of State John Kerry backstabbed Israel and shared secrets with Iran’s terrorist-backing regime.
The audio of Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and an Iranian journalist was leaked to The New York Times and an Iranian outlet based in the U.K. And according to Zarif, Kerry had confirmed Israel’s involvement in operations against Iranian forces in Syria. If true, it constituted a massive betrayal against the U.S.’s biggest ally in the region. But it didn’t garner an iota of airtime on any of those networks.
Instead of covering that major story, all three of the major broadcast networks gushed about the Oscars and how woke they were. Only the CBS Evening News noted how terrible the ratings were, without going into detail. And the Spanish-language networks touted the Latinos that won awards.
Fortunately, Fox News Channel wasn’t beholden to the Biden administration and wasn’t an ally to the Iranian regime, like those networks were. “Breaking tonight, what could be a major breach of national security and international relations at the hands of former Secretary of State and current climate adviser John Kerry,” announced Special Report anchor Bret Baier at the top of the newscast.
He added: “Democrats are dismissing any controversy, Republicans as you can imagine are not to.” That also explained the liberal media’s refusal to cover the scandal.

John Kerry gives Syria week to hand over chemical weapons or face attack US secretary of state tells London press conference with William Hague that US intelligence blames Assad regime for gas attack.
The US secretary of state has said that President Bashar al-Assad has one week to hand over his entire stock of chemical weapons to avoid a military attack. But John Kerry added that he had no expectation that the Syrian leader would comply.
Kerry also said he had no doubt that Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack in east Damascus on 21 August, saying that only three people are responsible for the chemical weapons inside Syria – Assad, one of his brothers and a senior general. He said the entire US intelligence community was united in believing Assad was responsible.
The US Senate is due to vote this week on whether to approve an attack and Kerry was ambivalent over whether Barack Obama would use his powers to ignore the legislative chamber, if it were to reject an attack.
The US State Department stressed that Kerry was making a rhetorical argument about the one-week deadline and unlikelihood of Assad turning over Syria's chemical weapons stockpile.
In a statement, the department added: "His point was that this brutal dictator with a history of playing fast and loose with the facts cannot be trusted to turn over chemical weapons, otherwise he would have done so long ago. That's why the world faces this moment."
Kerry said the US had tracked the Syrian chemical weapons stock for many years, adding that it "was controlled in a very tight manner by the Assad regime … Bashar al-Assad and his brother Maher al-Assad, and a general are the three people that have the control over the movement and use of chemical weapons.
"But under any circumstances, the Assad regime is the Assad regime, and the regime issues orders, and we have regime members giving these instructions and engaging in these preparations with results going directly to President Assad.
Kerry said the Americans were planning an "unbelievably small" attack on Syria.
"We will be able to hold Bashar al-Assad accountable without engaging in troops on the ground or any other prolonged kind of effort in a very limited, very targeted, short-term effort that degrades his capacity to deliver chemical weapons without assuming responsibility for Syria's civil war.
That is exactly what we are talking about doing – unbelievably small, limited kind of effort."
"So let me be clear," he continued. "The United States of America, President Obama, myself, others are in full agreement that the end of the conflict in Syria requires a political solution."
Kerry said he did not know if Obama would release further intelligence proving the culpability of Assad in the chemical weapons attack, saying the administration had already released an unprecedented amount of information.
