AG Barr sought help from United Kingdom in his investigation into the CIA and FBI
The Post Reported.
President Donald Trump’s impeachment inquiry grew on Monday to include three countries beyond the whistleblower report on Ukraine.
“Attorney General William P. Barr has held private meetings overseas with foreign intelligence officials seeking their help in a Justice Department inquiry that President Trump hopes will discredit U.S. intelligence agencies’ examination of Russian interference in the 2016 election,”
“Barr’s personal involvement is likely to stoke further criticism from Democrats pursuing impeachment that he is helping the Trump administration use executive branch powers to augment investigations aimed primarily at the president’s adversaries.”
“Barr has already made overtures to British intelligence officials, and last week the attorney general traveled to Italy, where he and Durham met senior Italian government officials and Barr asked the Italians to assist Durham, according to one person familiar with the matter,” the newspaper reported. “It was not Barr’s first trip to Italy to meet intelligence officials, the person said. The Trump administration has made similar requests of Australia, these people said.”

Is it now an impeachable offense to HOPE? ....lol ...It's not as if the intelligence agencies haven't been discredited ... the top dogs have been canned ...The AG is within his rights to go anywhere and meet anyone while there's an investigation

It's the AG's job to oversee the special council investigation and it's not illegal to work with other governments to get first hand accounts of facts ...There musta been something in the course of the investigation that led them both to Europe

If Barr collaborated with a foreign government to investigate a potential political rival.
Doing it --personally-- for trump.
That is a crime.
Intelligence and law enforcement officials were concerned about Barr's --direct-- involvement in the allegations against the intelligence community
David Laufman, a former Justice Department official initially involved with the Russia investigation, said-
"It is fairly unorthodox for the attorney general to --personally-- fly around the world as a point person to further evidence-gathering for a specific Justice Department investigation."
The Attorney General is to --supervise and direct-- the administration and operation of the Department of Justice, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
( not to involve himself personally in the investigations political rivals of for the president.)

| I guess it's supposed to be mandatory for AGs to sit around on their ass and do nothing .. Jeff Sessions didn't do shit ...Obama's AG, Loretta Lynch didn't do shit ...They're the head of the DOJ AND the FBI ...they run the fuk'n show ..What can they learn about investigations by sitting on their ass in an office... They can do that at home |

| NYC Bar Association urges Congress to investigate AG Bill Barr for partisanship
The New York City Bar Association sent a letter on Thursday urging Congress to investigate Attorney General Bill Barr for a "pattern of conduct" that it alleges "threatens public confidence in the fair and impartial administration of justice.”
The request is the first time a bar association has asked Congress to investigate a sitting attorney general, per Bloomberg.
The president of the bar association criticized the attorney general's public statements, saying he has disregarded "bedrock obligations for government lawyers,” including the duty to “to avoid even the appearance of partiality and impropriety, and to avoid manifesting bias, prejudice, or partisanship in the exercise of official responsibilities."
The letter cited a speech Barr made to the Federalist Society’s National Lawyers Convention in November, in which he claimed that "so-called progressives" were "engaged in a war to cripple by any means necessary a duly elected government."
In the same speech, Barr claimed that conservatives “tend to have more scruple over their political tactics” and are more committed to the rule of law.
