Trump caught in a lie about being invited to World Series game by MLB commissioner.
Here's what actually happened between former President Donald Trump, Yankees president Randy Levine, and MLB commissioner Rob Manfred.
Former President Donald Trump asked to attend Saturday’s World Series Game 4 in Atlanta, and was not “invited” by Yankees president Randy Levine or MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, as he claimed.
"Looking forward to being at the World Series in Atlanta tonight,” Trump wrote in a statement on Saturday. “Thank you to the Commissioner of Baseball Rob Manfred, and Randy Levine of the great New York Yankees, for the invite. Melania and I are looking forward to a wonderful evening watching two great teams!"
This ran counter to a Wednesday report in USA Today, in which Braves CEO Terry McGuirk said, "He called MLB and wanted to come to the game. We were very surprised. Of course, we said yes.''
Levine was not available for comment, but two officials directly involved in the process said that McGuirk’s comments were accurate, and that neither Manfred nor Levine had reached out to extend an invitation.
According to those officials, Trump last week reached out to Manfred through an intermediary to say he would like to attend a game.
Manfred then called Levine, because of common ties to the intermediary. That was the extent of Levine’s involvement.
“[Levine] has nothing to do with who attends a World Series in Atlanta,” said one of the officials.
It wasn’t the first time that Trump fabricated an invitation by Levine and the Yankees.
In July 2020, shortly before director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci threw out the first pitch at the MLB opener, a Yankees/Nationals game in Washington D.C., Trump said he would be doing the same in the Bronx.
“Randy Levine is a great friend of mine from the Yankees,” Trump said at the White House. “And he asked me to throw out the first pitch, and I think I’m doing that on Aug. 15 at Yankee Stadium.”
The Yankees had never scheduled the event that Trump claimed. Trump later said that he wouldn't have been able to make it to Yankees Stadium on Aug. 15, after all.

Donald Trump is now a taekwondo black belt holder despite never having actually practiced taekwondo.
Martial artist: Kukkiwon, a taekwondo governing body based in South Korea, presented the former president with an honorary ninth dan black belt at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida over the weekend, reported the New York Post.
Kukkiwon President Lee Dong-seop presented Trump with the honor, which is considered the highest level a professional martial artist can achieve.
Lee told local outlet Dong-A-Ilbo, “I heard that Donald Trump is highly interested in Taekwondo.”
Images posted on Kukkiwon’s Facebook page show Lee posing with Trump, who was wearing a “dobok,” the traditional taekwondo uniform.
The post’s disclaimer noted that the ceremony, organized by a South Korean living in the U.S., was “not related [to] any other political issues.”
Trump and Lee posed in front of several photos on display, including that of the former president shaking hands with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
POTUS pride: Trump said he will be wearing his “dobok” to Congress should he get elected president again.
Trump said of the title: "It is my honor to receive honorary dan certificate and I think taekwondo is magnificent [sic] martial art for self-defense. I wish to see Kukkiwon Taekwondo Team's demonstration."
Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was given the same belt and the title of grandmaster in 2013 while visiting Seoul, also has a black belt in judo.
The two world leaders now outrank actor and martial arts champion Chuck Norris, who never advanced his eighth-degree taekwondo black belt.

Trump got $4 million from the UK government while serving as president.
While serving as president of the United States, Donald Trump received millions of dollars from the United Kingdom.
"Donald Trump’s Scottish golf courses claimed $4 million in Covid-relief furlough payouts from the UK Government, according to newly released accounts," The Independent reported.
Article 1, Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution bans federal officeholders from accepting money from foreign governments.
"No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State," the Constitution reads.

Donald Trump lied about his Trump Tower apartment — saying it was larger than his upstate mansion: NY AG/
New York City is notorious for small apartments, but former President Donald Trump frequently showed off his large penthouse apartment at the top of Trump Tower, but it apparently wasn't quite as big as he claimed.
Trump not only lied about the size of his inauguration size, the size of his Jan. 6 rally, and ultimately his election vote size, he also lied about the size of his Manhattan apartment.
According to supplemental documents filed by Attorney General Letitia James, Trump grossly inflated the size to 30,000 square feet. If the apartment was that big, it would make it about 2,000 square feet larger than the Georgian mansion in Westchester County, New York.
"Valuations of this asset as incorporated into the Statements of Financial Condition since at least 2012 were based on the assertion that the triplex apartment was 30,000 square feet in size," the court filings say. "Evidence indicates that Mr. Weisselberg and Mr. McConney both participated in such valuations."
It went on to say that the triplex apartment is actually only 10,996 square feet, not 30,000 square feet in size citing "the condominium offering plan and associated amendments for Trump Tower" which the filings said, "were easily accessible inside the Trump Organization, were signed by Mr. Trump, and were sent to Mr. Weisselberg in 2012."
Such documents directly tie the president to the possible crimes of lying on his official documents.

Trump Reportedly Asked Aides If China Could Be Shooting Hurricanes At The U.S.
During his first year in office, the former president repeatedly asked national security aides if China had secret technology or weapons that could create hurricanes and shoot them at the U.S.
Citing two unnamed former senior administration officials and a third person briefed on the matter, reported that Trump inquired repeatedly whether this would constitute an act of war and asked if the U.S. could retaliate.
This inquiry was mocked in some official circles as the “Hurricane Gun” thing.
There is no evidence to suggest China has the technology to generate massive storms and then fire them across the world.
During Trump’s first year in office, Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico while two major storms hit the mainland U.S., Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
As president, Trump made headlines on multiple occasions for bizarre weather-related antics, including the infamous 2019 “Sharpiegate” incident in which he held up a map of Hurricane Dorian’s trajectory that appeared edited to show the storm potentially affecting a portion of Alabama. (Trump had incorrectly tweeted days earlier that Alabama would likely be in the storm’s path).
The same year, Axios reported that Trump suggested on multiple occasions during his first year in office that homeland and national security officials explore the possibility of__ using nuclear bombs to stop hurricanes from hitting the U.S.
He has also made a confusing patchwork of comments about his position on climate change. He has called it a “hoax” while also claiming it is “very important to me.” Once, in 2012, Trump famously argued that climate change was “created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.”
