Furring the walls out for plumbing electrical and insulation is essential. Water and electrical services are pretty typical. A no brainer to take advantage of them if they are available, even if you want to be as self sufficient as possible.

Another good idea would be to bond the container shell to the uffer ground or ground rod.

Yes a uffer ground. You missed what I was trying to say. The metal structure must be bonded to the grounding system to ensure that in the event a energized wire touches the metal container short circuits instead of energizing the metal structure.

Electrical stuff was never my strong suit.
In my younger days, I did a lotta renovations, store build-outs, basements, etc - but I left the plumbing and electrical to the tradesmen.
