Anti-vaccine protester claims COVID shot has baby parts in it during White Lives Matter rally.
Far-right wing extremists have moved on from "Stop the Steal" to "Stop the Vaccine" as a few took the streets this weekend to protest in the name of "White Lives Matter." Why the vaccine is bad appears to vary from person to person.
As one Huntington Beach, California man explained, the vaccine is made of baby parts. It's unclear how he came to that conclusion, but it's remarkably similar to conspiracy theories from the 1990s that said beverages were made from dead babies. Snapple, Pepsi and others were part of the bizarre conspiracy. It harkens back to the 1973 film "Soylent Green," which predicts that by 2022 America will enter an ecological dystopia in which overpopulation leads humans to create a tasty beverage that converts corpses into Soylent Green.
Like Snapple, the COVID-19 vaccines aren't made of people. Pfizer and Moderna use pieces of genetic material (mRNA) to create the vaccine and don't include "live" versions of the virus, as GoodRX explained. The genetic material isn't from baby parts.
"The mRNA is produced in laboratory equipment (not in live cells), using the genome of the novel coronavirus as a template. Once the mRNA is in your body, your own cells can use it to make harmless models of the spike protein," said GoodRx.
As the CDC explained, mRNA vaccines "teach our cells how to make a protein— or even just a piece of a protein—that triggers an immune response inside our bodies."

| Border Patrol Apprehends Nearly 150 Undocumented Migrants In Tractor-Trailer Caroline Downey, National Review Wed, April 21, 2021, 10:45 AM
Border Patrol agents in the Laredo sector of Texas discovered 149 undocumented migrants in a tractor-trailer on April 16, U.S. Customs and Border Protection disclosed on Monday.
The tractor-trailer approached a checkpoint on Interstate Highway 35 and agents opened the sealed cargo area to find 149 individuals locked inside, according to a CBP press release.
The migrants were determined to be in the U.S. illegally from Central American countries, including Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Venezuela, El Salvador, Peru, and Ecuador. The commercial truck in question was driven by a U.S. citizen.
CBP said that none of the individuals in the sealed part of the vehicle had on personal protective equipment to curb the spread of COVID-19. The agency mentioned that there was an “increase in COVID-19 infections among details.” CBP further noted that “the transporting of large groups of people without PPE in close dangerous quarters.” Each person was medically screened and provided with PPE, Border Patrol said.
All 149 migrants and the driver were arrested and the U.S. Border Patrol took both the tractor and trailer into custody. The situation is now awaiting further investigation by Special Agents of Homeland Security Investigations.
“Human smugglers continue to have no regard for the safety and health of the people they exploit for profit,” CBP said.
The April 16 tractor-trailer apprehension is one of a number of smuggling incidents to have happened in last few months. On April 12, twenty people were found under the floorboards of a tractor-trailer at the Del Rio Sector of the border. On March 30, another 60 people were discovered in two tractor-trailers by Border Patrol.
More than 100,000 migrants arrived at the border in February and more than 172,000 arrived in March. Government officials predict that 117,000 migrant children could enter the U.S. by the end of 2021.
The southern border has experienced a large influx of undocumented migrants since President Joe Biden revoked former President Donald Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy and halted construction on the border wall.

Jeffrey Epstein’s Palm Beach estate demolished.
Glaser is a real estate heavy-hitter known for tearing down and rebuilding famous people’s homes. He said in January that he wanted to destroy the Epstein property as soon as possible.
“We have all these gawkers. If the house is gone, what are they going to take a picture of? So we might be able to get it knocked down early, which I want to do, just to get rid of it,” he told The New York Daily News. “I’m trying to get this thing knocked down.”
Broker Lawrence A. Moens, not usually one to talk according to The Palm Beach Daily News, expressed similar feelings.
“I only got involved in the sale of Jeffrey Epstein’s residence to ensure it would be wiped off the map of Palm Beach,” he told the Florida paper.
Glaser paid $18.5 million for the property, with the money going to the victims’ compensation fund for women abused by Epstein. Money from the $50 million sale of Epstein’s Upper East Side townhouse also funded the program.
Epstein died by suicide in August 2019 at age 66 inside his cell in Manhattan federal prison.
The 14,000-square foot Palm Beach estate was built in 1952, and Epstein bought it in 1990. A staff house and pool house were also demolished, The Palm Beach Daily News reported, and the pool will be filled in.

Artist famous for pro-Trump painting now wants nothing to do with the disgraced ex-president
New York-based artist Julian Raven is known in right-wing circles for his painting of Donald Trump and the subsequent legal battle with the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery to get it displayed. But after the riot at the U.S. Capitol, Raven has had a change of heart, even on calling for Trump to resign.
Now, according to the Washingtonian, Raven is calling for the museum not to display a photo portrait of Trump.
"I believe the right thing to do would be to hang a black cloth over the photo and that no honor be given to him until he repents before God and man," Raven said.
Raven says Trump shouldn't be honored with a portrait until he "humbles himself" and takes responsibility for his conspiratorial voter fraud claims and his role in stoking the Capitol riot.
"The worst part for me was all the people then and now being arrested and their lives being ruined for being duped into this pseudo-revolution. And he gets into a plane and flies off to his mansion on the beach," Raven said, adding that he doesn't plan to do political paintings anymore
"It produced so much toxicity that I was, like, I don't want to do this anymore," he said.

| The White House is apparently overrun with flies Mon, May 17, 2021, 9:07 AM
The White House is abuzz, and not just with political gossip.
In a recent call with President Biden's senior adviser Cedric Richmond, former Trump adviser Jared Kushner offered not only job advice, but also his condolences regarding the White House fly problem, sources told Politico.
"Yeah man, they're like bats," Kushner said to Richmond in what Politico called a rare "point of agreement" between the two officials. "Good luck," Kushner added.
The White House's bug issue is reportedly ongoing, extending back through the Trump presidency to at least the Obama administration, per Politico. Former National Security spokesman under President Barack Obama Tommy Vietor said, "We had bug zappers going 24/7." |

Technology company announced success of new aircraft catapult system that Trump ridiculed
This Monday, General Atomics announced that its high-tech electromagnetic catapults and arresting gear has achieved the U.S. Navy's targeted goal of 8,000 launches and recoveries aboard the new USS Gerald R. Ford, the Times of San Diego reports.
The catapults were the subject of criticism from former President Donald Trump back in 2017 when he told the Navy to bring back "goddamned steam." The new catapults were designed with the intention of reducing wear and tear on aircraft and pilots.
"The last 18-months have been very exciting and challenging. We are proud of the record number of critical firsts EMALS and AAG achieved during this period to bring the systems into real-time operational readiness," said Scott Forney, president of General Atomics' Electromagnetic Systems division
"The confidence placed in EMALS and AAG capabilities to safely launch and arrest both seasoned pilots as they sharpen their skillsets, and future naval aviators as they earn their wings of gold, is something we are extremely proud of," Forney said. |

Bill Cosby denied parole after failing to participate in ‘sex offender’ therapy program. “Mr. Cosby has vehemently proclaimed his innocence and continues to deny all allegations made against him,” Wyatt said Thursday.
“Today, Mr. Cosby continues to remain hopeful that the Pennslyvania State Supreme Court will issue an opinion to vacate his conviction or warrant him a new trial.”
Cosby, 83, was convicted in 2018 of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his suburban Pennsylvania mansion in 2004.
He was later sentenced to three to 10 years in state prison.
Constand made it clear in a Thursday Twitter post that she was happy with the parole board’s decision.
“DENIED,” she tweeted in all caps.
The parole board decision was made May 11 .

Famed 'Tank Man' photo vanishes from Bing search engine.
San Francisco (AFP) - Searches for the famous Tiananmen Square "Tank Man" protest photo came up empty on Microsoft search engine Bing on Friday, raising censorship concerns on the anniversary of the deadly crackdown.
The award-winning photo from 1989 was not served up in image or video searches using Bing even outside China, a country known for strictly controlling what is available online.
"This is due to an accidental human error and we are actively working to resolve this," a Microsoft spokesman said in response to an AFP inquiry prompted by US press reports.
Meanwhile, searches for Tank Man using Google, which has some 92 percent of the global market for online queries according to Statcounter, turned up an assortment of pictures along with the iconic one by photographer Charlie Cole and others.
Google search is not offered in China, where censors have purged Tank Man from the internet. Baidu is the dominant search engine in China.
The Tank Man photo shows a lone protester in a white shirt blocking the path of a column of tanks in Tiananmen Square in Beijing in 1989.
Friday marked the anniversary of Chinese troops crushing peaceful democracy protests in Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989.
Hundreds were killed in the crackdown, by some estimates more than 1,000.
In mainland China, the Tiananmen anniversary is usually marked by an increase in online censorship and the square in Beijing placed under tight security.

Stephen King explains why his latest TV project is his favorite story ever
Many celebrated novelists have flamed out in Hollywood. Perhaps that’s why Stephen King has largely avoided adapting his own work for the screen.
But when it came to “Lisey’s Story,” an eight-part series now streaming on Apple+, the Master of Horror refused to be scared off.
“It means a lot to me because it’s the one that I love best,” King told TV critics during a virtual news conference earlier this year. “It’s a story about love and marriage and the creative impulse. It’s also got a kick-ass villain in it, which I liked a lot.”
More than 60 of King’s stories have been turned into feature films, most notably “The Shawshank Redemption,” “Stand by Me,” “The Shining” and “The Green Mile.” There have also been at least 20 TV projects inspired by his imagination, including “The Outsider,” which debuted last year.
“He’s not an author; he’s an army,” said Richard Price, who wrote seven of the 10 episodes for that HBO series. “It’s a brand name, like Jell-O. He gives you a great story and makes them as human as possible without the need for CGI pyrotechnics, which I prefer to avoid. He’s like a boulder running downhill and has been for decades.”
But King himself has written for the screen fewer than a dozen times, rarely earning rave reviews. Only die-hard fans have sat through 1992’s “Sleepwalkers” more than once.
“Lisey’s Story” is his most impressive effort yet. It stars Julianne Moore as a widow trying to find closure after the death of her husband (Clive Owen), a celebrated author whose legion of fans include more than a couple of maniacs.
Her journey means coming to terms with her late husband’s dark secrets, visiting a mysterious dreamland guarded by a flesh-munching monster and battling an assassin who treats the rest of the world like a giant mosh pit.
The scary elements are intact, but there are also romantic elements usually not associated with King’s work.
“It almost felt like it was an explosion of inner worlds,” Owen said. “It’s just sort of juggling all of those layers. It’s something very, very intimate and something really epic at the same time.”
King based the 2006 novel on his own brush with death and how it affected both his marriage and his legacy.
“I had double pneumonia and I came very close to stepping out,” he said. “When it was clear I was going to get better, my wife decided she was going to totally clean out my office and make everything new again for me. When I came back home, she said, ‘Don’t go in there. You won’t like it.’ That’s because it wasn’t done yet. And the first thing I did was go into my office. And it was totally empty. I was still feeling very rocky and on a lot of different medication and I thought, ‘This is what the room would look like after I die.’ ‘Lisey’s Story’ came from that.”
King isn’t done making an impact on the pop culture scene. More than 20 of his stories are being prepped for the screen. But no matter what comes next, “Lisey’s Story” will remain a standout.
“I’m either all the way in as much as possible or all the way out,” King said. “There have been a lot of projects where I’ve stepped back and written books, waiting for something to come along that I really love. That was this. This was that passion project.”
