‘DeSantis is out of control’:
Florida governor ripped for ‘Gestapo tactics’ after raid on whistleblower’s home.

“Gestapo” trended nationwide on Twitter on Monday
after Florida state police raided the home of a COVID-19 whistleblower.

Former Department of Health Data Scientist Rebekah Jones
    posted video of the raid on Twitter,
with harsh words for Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL).

There will be no update today.

At 8:30 am this morning, state police came into
my house and took all my hardware and tech.  

They were serving a warrant on my computer
after DOH filed a complaint.

They pointed a gun in my face.  
They pointed guns at my kids.

They took my phone and the computer I use every day
to post the case numbers in Florida,
and school cases for the entire country.

They took evidence of corruption at the state level.

They claimed it was about a security breach.  

This was DeSantis.

He sent the Gestapo.

This is what happens to scientists
who do their job honestly.

This is what happens to people
who speak truth to power.

I tell them my husband and my two children are upstairs
and THEN one of them draws his gun.  
On my children.

A spokesperson for the department said agents knocked on Jones’ door and called her “in an attempt to minimize disruption to the family.” She declined to open the door for 20 minutes and hung up on the agents, and her family was upstairs when agents did enter the house, the spokesperson added.<<
And, actually, " if we've learned anything this year," it is that there are more unhinged, erratic folks living among us than we wanted to know about.

Ron DeSantis in hot water after warrant to raid Florida scientist’s home turns out to be fraudulent.

The state claimed that the raid was justified because Jones was suspected of hacking into an internal network to send a message to state employees about COVID.

But now it turns out the message was simply sent to an email address that it had made publicly available. This means the warrant was fraudulently obtained, which in turn means a whole lot of people are in trouble.

This means one or more people in the Florida Department of Law Enforcement lied to a judge in order to obtain a warrant.

It means police were sent to carry out a fraudulently obtained warrant. It means Rebekah Jones has the mother of all civil suits, if she wants it.
And it means the people who fraudulently obtained the warrant are in danger of going to prison.

No wonder DeSantis is pretending he had nothing to do with this. It could end up taking down his governorship.
