MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is bankrolling a nationwide push to halt the use of voting machines in elections — starting with Arizona Cheryl Teh Sun, April 24, 2022, 10:29 PM
MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is bankrolling what he calls a nationwide series of lawsuits to stop the use of voting machines.
Lindell claimed he paid around $500,000 for the first lawsuit filed on Friday in Arizona.
The filing lists Trump-backed gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Arizona Rep. Mark Finchem as plaintiffs.
MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is bankrolling what he calls a nationwide series of lawsuits to stop the use of voting machines in local and national elections.
Speaking to Insider on Sunday, Lindell said that his attempt to halt the use of electronic voting machines in all 50 states has kicked off, with the first injunction filed in Arizona on Friday.
The filing lists Trump-backed gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Rep. Mark Finchem as plaintiffs. Lake and Finchem — funded by Lindell and represented by lawyers including Alan Dershowitz — are suing Kathleen Hobbs, Arizona's Secretary of State, and members of the Maricopa and Pima County boards of supervisors.
The filing bills itself as "a civil rights action for declaratory and injunctive relief to prohibit the use of electronic voting machines." It also calls for Arizona authorities to halt the use of any electronic voting system until the "system is made open to the public and subjected to scientific analysis by objective experts," who will "determine whether it is secure from manipulation or intrusion."
The complaint from Lake and Finchem says the initiative is "not an attempt to undo the past" or re-litigate the 2020 election, arguing instead that the use of "unverified electronic voting machines" undermines public confidence in the validity of future election results.
Maricopa County was where the Cyber Ninjas' audit of the vote confirmed Joe Biden's win in the 2020 presidential election and found 261 fewer votes for Trump. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump baselessly alleged in October that there were "fictitious" votes cast in Pima County, Arizona's second-most populous county.
Trump expressed approval of Lake and Finchem's suit during his rally in Ohio on Saturday.
"Every state should follow the lead of the Patriots in Arizona where yesterday Kari Lake, Mark Finchem, and others filed a lawsuit to ban electronic voting machines and replace them with a transparent hand count," Trump said. "Hand, hand, hand count system! Paper — paper, paper, paper! We don't have to worry about signals being sent down from the sky!"
Lindell told Insider that the costs for the legal fees involved in the Arizona suit amounted to around $500,000. He said that the subsequent lawsuits — for which he intends to file 49 more states — would cost him "around $100,000 to $200,000" per legal battle.
"I'm gonna do as many as I can afford," said Lindell, who previously claimed that he had spent tens of millions of his money pushing the former president's voter-fraud claims. "Right now, I'm the one financing them, so I'm going to keep doing them."
Lindell added that injunctions in South Dakota, Minnesota, Texas, Wisconsin, Alabama, Louisiana, and Colorado are coming up next.
He said he appreciated Trump's shoutout at the Ohio rally and the former president's apparent appreciation of his efforts.
"I think everybody there, including him, appreciates it. I'm not gonna back down, I'm gonna keep trying to help our country and get this fixed, and get the machines gone," Lindell said.

Mike Lindell rages at Newsmax 'cowards' after even they balk at covering his latest election lawsuits.
MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell's latest quest against the results of the 2020 elections involves filing lawsuits aimed at throwing out voting machines across the United States.
While appearing on Steve Bannon's "War Room" podcast, however, Lindell lashed out at right-wing media outlets whom he accused of ignoring his new crusade.
"Since Friday, since this case dropped, the left media is the ones that have picked it up!" Lindell complained. "You have Business Insider, Newsweek, these guys did articles. Where's Fox News? Where are they to report this?"
Bannon then asked Lindell to speculate on why Fox News and Newsmax have given nothing but "total crickets" on his lawsuit.
"Fox, I believe they're just traitors to the country," he replied. "And I believe Newsmax are cowards. Simple as that -- cowards and traitors, cowards and traitors."
Despite his bold claims, none of Lindell's lawsuits so far have been successful, including a much-hyped effort last year that he promised would get heard by the United States Supreme Court before it eventually petered out with a whimper.

Irate Mike Lindell on Walmart dropping MyPillow: "Shame on you, Walmart! You're disgusting!" By CARLA SINCLAIR
It looks like Mike Lindell's pillow empire as finally lost all its stuffing, as the MyPillow peddler announced last night that Walmart dropped his products. This comes after a petition with 100,000 signatures urged Walmart — along with Amazon — to disassociate themselves with the Big Lie conspiracy-theorist after 22 other mega retailers (i.e., QVC, Sam's Club, Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond) dropped him.

Mike Lindell had ‘everything’ on phone he claims was seized by FBI at Hardee's.
MyPillow CEO and prominent conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell claims that the FBI executed a search warrant while he was at a fast-food restaurant in Minnesota.
"Mike Lindell claims to The Daily Beast that the FBI seized his phone at a Hardee’s restaurant," Zachary Petrizzo reported.
Lindell had previously claimed his phone records were subpoenaed by the House Select Committee Investigating the Jan. 6 Attack at the U.S. Capitol.
It is unknown if the reportedly seizure is related to a flood of recent activity by federal prosecutors.
"Justice Department officials have seized the phones of two top advisers to former President Donald J. Trump and blanketed his aides with about 40 subpoenas in a substantial escalation of the investigation into his efforts to subvert the 2020 election, people familiar with the inquiry said on Monday," The New York Times reported.
"The seizure of the phones, coupled with a widening effort to obtain information from those around Mr. Trump after the 2020 election, represent some of the most aggressive steps the department has taken thus far in its criminal investigation into the actions that led to the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol by a pro-Trump mob."
Lindell posted a video saying the FBI had been "weaponized."
"It's disgusting. I don't have a computer, everything I do off that phone, everything was on there," he said.

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell’s money problems just keep getting worse and worse for the Trump-loving conspiracy theorist after he admitted during a recent appearance on Steve Bannon’s podcast that his personal bank has asked him to close his account and find somewhere else to conduct his financial business, as they allegedly fear “reputational damage” that could very well come from extended association with the MAGA crazed pillow salesman.
During the podcast appearance, Lindell played a recording to Bannon and listeners of a message he claims was left by his bank, Heartland Financial. The supposed bank representative tells Lindell in the message that he has 30 days to find somewhere else to conduct his financial business, and states in the message that he fears his bank records will soon be subpoenaed by federal authorities (as many Trump allies’ have in recent weeks) and rightfully expressed his concern regarding the risk that would be to the bank’s reputation and public image.
But, as you’d expect from Mike Lindell, he was quick to assert that he has absolutely no intention of honoring the bank’s (alleged) request — instead telling Bannon that he absolutely refuses to pull his funds from the financial institution.
“I said, ‘I am not being part of this. I’m not leaving. So you’re going to have to throw me out of your bank,'” Lindell told host Bannon during the podcast appearance.
Salon reports that representatives for the MyPillow CEO did not return their request for comment regarding the story.
Mike Lindell is already facing down some serious financial problems, as he goes head to head against a billion-dollar lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems after he publicly slandered the company and accused them of being a large part of voter/election fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
“Where does it end everybody?” Lindell whined on the podcast. “Where does it end?”
