Conservatives bailing on pro-Trump social-media
'echo chambers.

According to a report from NBC, social media platforms designed to lure in fans of Donald Trump are being criticized by prominent conservative influencers who claim they get little benefit from posting on them as they return back to Twitter, Instagram and others where there is a bigger audience.

As Ben Goggin reports, Parler, Gettr, and the newly launched
Truth Social from Trump, are not the first choice of conservatives who are intent on developing their audiences.

In interviews, more than a few of them called the sites "echo chambers" that are deadends when it comes to influencing debate and recruiting new adherents who may be on the fence .

In an interview with Roland Johns, who saw Instagram pull the plug on his page -- keeping him from reaching his 35,000 followers -- the conservative sites hold little appeal.

"Johns, who now runs the Instagram page for his college Republicans club, was one of the many young people who attended this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference, where new apps and tech platforms were making buzz by jockeying for attention via shoutouts from keynote speakers
and stations on the convention floor," the report states adding that Johns was not impressed.

"It’s all just a Band-Aid because it’s our own little
kind of echo chamber,” Johns explained, with conservative content creator Alex Weber agreeing.

"I think the challenge that a lot of these newer ones have is to not be an echo chamber for people who hold similar beliefs,” before adding_
"I think why Instagram and Facebook and all these are so impactful is because you’ve got all different types of people.”

According to the complaints, it's hard to add new followers which is why they return to more mainstream platforms.

"Those platforms have attracted some users and conservative influencers, but they remain far smaller than their larger rivals and have so far proven unable to attract mainstream audiences, through which many conservative influencers have amassed major followings," the report states.

Isabel Brown, with over 100,000 Instagram followers, claims she is fine with the smaller platforms, but has doubts about some of the newer ones coming online being successful.

Describing them as "echo chambers” of “conservative thoughts, statements and values,” she added__
"I think it’s a mistake for us to abandon where the rest of culture is.
How are you supposed to grow your movement if you’re not reaching other people where they’re at
in a language they understand.”

Turning Point USA field representative Cristian Clementi complained about Trump's Truth Social, stating__
"The people that they’re trying to reach are on the major platforms. I think it’s kind of counterintuitive
to make your own platform, but it’s all everybody that agrees with you rather than the people that might be in the middle or don’t agree with you at all.”

Trump’s new right-wing social media app
tanks with 93% decline.

Former President Donald Trump's social media app isn't getting off to the start he may have envisioned.

Despite Trump's overwhelming support from far-right voters, the former president's new social media platform Gettr, according to TheWrap, has only managed to get 1.2 millman downloads.
When the app was made public on President's Day, it quickly reached 800,000 downloads.
However, the download pace has only diminished from there.

According to the estimate for this week's download reports, the social media app was only downloaded approximately 60,000 times.

Speaking to TheWrap, Stephanie Chan, a mobile insights strategist for Sensor Tower, explained how badly the social media platform's downloads have plummeted.

“This is down 93% from its launch week, when it saw 872,000 installs during
the week of Feb. 21,” Chan explained.''

There is also very little data to determine how many individuals are actually utilizing the app after signing up. Per TheWrap:

"On its desktop site, Truth Social has also seen a significant decline in traffic following the launch period. Truthsocial.com spiked to 6 million visits during the week of Feb. 20 but has dropped to around 1.9 million weekly visits in recent weeks, according to Similarweb.

The app store download page visits also declined
from 361,000 visits during launch week to some 90,000 weekly visits last week."

David Carr, senior insights manager at Similarweb, weighed in and emphasized the level of difficulty that comes with launching a social media platform. Even though Trump has a large following, creating
a digital space still comes with its challenges.

“Creating your own social network is not an easy thing to do,” Carr said.
“You have to be significantly better and more interesting.”

Carr also noted that Truth Social faced the same
type of nosedive. Referencing Trump's precious
social media endeavors and his failed blog, Carr added,
"It did mirror the pattern we have seen before when Trump tried a couple
of other things, [showing a] spike in interest and then going away quickly."

Truth Social loses two key executives after
botched rollout of Trump's social media app.

Two top tech entrepreneurs have already quit working for
Donald Trump's Truth Social startup.

Josh Adams and Billy Boozer, who served as the company’s chiefs of technology and product development, quickly became central figures in Trump's effort to build a social media company, but they both resigned less than a year after joining the former president's venture, reported Reuters.

“If Josh has left… all bets are off,” said one source about Adams, describing him as the "brains" behind Truth Social’s technology.

Their departures followed the bungled launch of the company's iPhone app on Feb. 20, with many users still on waiting lists and unable to access the platform -- despite assurances by chief executive Devin Nunes that the app would be fully operational
by the end of last month.

The company still doesn't even have an app for Android phones, which are used by more than
40 percent of the U.S. market.

The pair resigned before their roles were publicly known outside Truth Social, where they worked at
a level just below Wes Moss and Andy Litinsky, two former castmates on Trump's reality TV show “The Apprentice,” and they reportedly believed in the company's "anti-cancel culture" mission.

"[They wanted to create an] open platform, where
as long as you don’t say anything that is criminal,
you can be entitled to your own opinion," said one source.

They frequently posted on the platform after its launch, but presented themselves only as
“Josh A.” and “Billy B.”

Trump has already pocketed the "Truth Social" money.

Trump and “Truth Social.”

The key thing to understand is that Trump has already gotten paid and has no more intention of building a real social network than he had of operating a viable airline or running a legitimate university.
He never intended “Truth Social” to be a real site,
so all of you who are fretting about how Devin Nunes could possibly manage the site can put your minds at ease.
It was just another scam, and Nunes is the perfect guy for that — an ultra-obedient lapdog who could face the prison risk instead of Trump.

The Fraud Machine:
How does this work?
Simple, but not so simple. Patrick Orlando, whom Trump met at Deutsche Bank set up a thing called a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC).

SPACs are a “blank check”
. They allow a fraudster, or even a legitimate entrepreneur, to set up a dummy corporation and
to sell shares to the public with basically no business plan at all.
They simply state they will invest the money in something, sometime. The investors have the right
to pull out their money once those prospective investments are revealed.

That’s basically it. There are practically no rules.
The only real rule is that you can’t do this with an investment already planned.
That is to say, you can’t plan an investment, then fund it using the zero-disclosure permitted by hiding behind a SPAC.
But that is, obviously, exactly what Trump and Orlando did, which is why they needed to find the stupidest dumbass on the planet to take the fall if anybody decides to prosecute this.

Enter Devin Nunes, His only relevant qualification
is his ability to go to prison if necessary.

How To Get Paid:
So Trump and Orlando hatched this scheme, or maybe Orlando hatched it and convinced Trump to put his name on it. Either way, it doesn’t matter. The point is that when Trump’s name was added to the story, the SPAC shares took off, which really doesn’t matter because those people are eventually going to lose all their money unless they are in on
the deal too.

The key point is that the initial frenzy raised $290,000,000 million and that money (less any where shareholders bailed out within their rescission period) has presumably been transferred to Trump, Nunes, and Orlando “on the other side” of the deal, i.e. Truth Social.
The story to the SPAC investors will be, “Sorry guys,
I guess we just made a bad investment. You know how tough it is in the social media world.”

And that’s it. That’s the whole game. It doesn’t matter if it flops.
Indeed, Trump is doing nothing to promote it.
It is remarkable that a man who has never succeeded at any business enterprise is still able to fleece so many people so easily, but that is the nature of late stage capitalism.

Former President Donald Trump's Truth Social app has been a massive flop so far, and it looks like things got even worse on Monday.

As flagged by The Daily Beast's Zachary Petrizzo, Truth Social suffered multiple outages throughout the day, and its users were not shy about complaining.

"It was terrible this morning," wrote one user, according to Petrizzo.

"Worst I've ever seen it," wrote another.

According to the website Down Detector, Truth Social saw a wave of reported outages starting at 7 a.m. on Monday morning, and they continued for hours before beginning to subside at around 3:30 p.m.

Truth Social, which launched back in February, initially saw a burst of downloads from MAGA fans, but has since seen a steep drop in interest and user engagement.

What's more, Trump himself has done nothing to promote the app, and has not even bothered using it since creating a single post months ago.

on news of Elon Musk Twitter deal.

According to a report from CNBC, the stock tied to Donald Trump's media empire fell on Monday after reports came out that billionaire Elon Musk may be assuming control of Twitter.

Trump's "Truth Social" has been struggling with declining interest and executive departures, and news that the high-profile Musk could be entering the field caused "shares of Digital World Acquisition Corp., the blank-check company poised to take Donald Trump’s media venture public" to fall.

As of noon on Monday, the stock had fallen almost 15 percent, with shares trading at $35.18, down $6.15.

According to CNBC, "The stock is down more than 20% year to date. The special purpose acquisition company is on track to merge with the former president’s Trump Media & Technology Group."

Conservative media personalities like Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin returned to Twitter following Musk's agreement to buy the company.

But one holdout on a potential return to Twitter is President Donald Trump, who said earlier this week that even if Twitter allowed him back on the platform, he wouldn't join.

(Reuters) - Former U.S. president Donald Trump posted a brief message on Truth Social late Thursday for the first time since the app he founded launched two months ago, saying "I'M BACK!"

Trump broke his silence as Elon Musk sealed a $44 billion deal to buy Twitter, which last year permanently banned Trump citing a risk of further violence following the Jan. 6, 2021 siege by a pro-Trump mob on the U.S. Capitol.

Republicans cheered Musk's buyout of the social media platform in the hope that the Tesla Inc Chief Executive, who has vowed to relax content moderation practices to restore free speech, will invite Trump back to the site.

Since the deal was announced this week, Trump has said he would not return to Twitter.

In Thursday's message, called a "truth" on the app, Trump wrote, "I'M BACK! #COVFEFE", referencing a typo on a Twitter message he sent while president that complained about the press and was widely memed.

Trump's silence on his own app since the launch of Truth Social on Apple Inc's app store on Feb. 21 has raised questions about its long term viability.

Ahead of its launch, his son Donald Trump Jr. tweeted a screenshot of his father’s Truth Social account with one “truth” that he posted on Feb. 14, verified at the account of @reaDonaldTrump, with the message: “Get Ready! Your favorite President will see you soon!”

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), Truth Social's parent company, is planning to go public through a merger with blank-check firm Digital World Acquisition Corp, shares of which were up 7.7% pre-market Friday.

The deal is under scrutiny by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and is likely months away from being finalized.

[B] i started to fill out the registration for Truth Social until it asked me for my name, phone number, and address .. I get enough spam in my email without shit in my physical mail box and/or solicitations on my phone

...I heard Truth social isn't yet compatible with android phones, which is what i have ..so I'd probably be getting spammed while not even having access to the platform

Lastly, and the real kicker .. I'm just reading today that people aren't joining because they "cant afford it" ... I wouldn't pay a thin dime to join any social media group .. I don't care whose it is .. That's absurd

Truth Social has been operating since February, and since then, millions of people have joined the platform. In a recent interview with Lou Dobbs on “The Great America Show,” Trump remarked that the platform was “hot as a pistol.” He added, “…I think it’s better than Twitter with all its bots and its fake accounts.”

Truth Social has been marketed as a free speech platform for users wishing to escape the Big Tech censorship of platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

In April, SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Twitter for $44 billion. In an announcement following the acquisition news, Musk stated, “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated…Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it.”

However, Musk’s deal is on hold due to “details supporting calculation that spam/fake accounts do indeed represent less than 5% of users,” the Tesla CEO stated on Twitter.

In fact, Twitter’s reported high percentage of spam and bot accounts appear to have driven more users to Truth Social than ever before. Shortly after Musk’s Twitter acquisition was announced, Truth Social eclipsed Twitter in the Apple App Store, rocketing to number one.

The 45th president previously predicted Twitter’s downfall, citing “the massive numbers of Bots and Fake Accounts.”

Additionally, Truth Social itself is in a unique position. “At Truth Social, we cannot use any of the ‘tech giants’ because we don’t want to be in a position to be shut down,” Trump Media & Technology Group CEO Devin Nunes stated in May.

That’s according to posts on Twitter by users who claimed Truth Social was censoring them. Reps for Trump Media & Technology Group, which owns and operates Truth Social, did not respond to a request for comment.

Travis Allen, whose Twitter bio describes him as an information security analyst, on Thursday evening posted a screenshot from the Truth Social app that said “Account suspended,” and he wrote:
“My Truth Social account was just 'permanently' suspended for talking about the January 6th Committee hearings.”

Of course, Allen wasn’t the only one who was summarily kicked off. Max Burns, the communications director for New York state Assembly member Yuh-Line Niou, also was 'permanently' suspended for talking about the January 6th Committee hearings.”

Former President Donald Trump raged on Truth Social on Thursday, demanding equal airtime on national TV amid the January 6 committee's primetime hearings.

Trump made a post on his social media platform hours before the committee's third hearing on Thursday, claiming that the lack of airtime was unfair to him.

"The Fake News Networks are perpetuating lies, falsehoods, and Russia, Russia, Russia type disinformation (same sick people, here we go again!) by allowing the low rated but nevertheless one sided and slanderous Unselect Committee hearings to go endlessly and aimlessly on (and on and on!)," Trump wrote.

"It is a one sided, highly partisan Witch Hunt, the likes of which has never been seen in Congress before. Therefore, I am hereby demanding EQUAL TIME to spell out the massive Voter Fraud & Dem Security Breach!" Trump added, once again parroting his own groundless claims of voter fraud.

The former president then followed up with another post, this time in all caps, reading: "I DEMAND EQUAL TIME!!!"

This week, Trump released a 12-page statement bashing the January 6 investigation. In that statement, he claimed without substantiation that the January 6 panel investigating the riot was out to stop him from running for president again in 2024.

Many US television networks have been airing the January 6 hearings during primetime slots. The committee held the third of its six public hearings on Thursday afternoon, outlining how the Trump camp pressured former Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the election.

Trump's Twitter Ripoff (TRUTH Social) Has
Lost 36% of its Value Since He Began Posting On It.

TRUTH Social was announced in October of 2021,
and Trump posted on it one time, then disappeared for months. More recently he declared that he would never return to Twitter, even if Elon Musk's bid to acquire it was successful (which is doubtful).

At the beginning of June Trump finally began to patronize his website.
But his presence seems to have had an adverse
effect on the site's fortunes.

Since Trump began posting regularly, the shell company, Digital World Acquisition Corporation (DWAC), which was expected to take the business public, has declined in value by 36%.
That's just in the two weeks that Trump has been posting.

It has declined by more than 80% since its high mark last October.
And the reasons are pretty obvious.
For one thing, the company is being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission
for possible fraud.

What's more, with Trump posting his tedious whines about having lost the 2020 presidential election, and his infantile insults directed at anyone who is less than worshipful, how could anyone stay interested for long?
For instance, his last posting exemplifies the problem...

“I have sooo many witnesses to everything good, but the highly partisan and one sided Unselect Committee of political hacks has not (sic) interest in hearing or seeing them. This Witch Hunt could all be ended quickly if they did!”
For the record, the Committee is not only interested in hearing from Trump's witnesses, they subpoenaed many of them. Most refused to comply. They include his White House and campaign staffers Peter Navarro, Dan Scavino, Mark Meadows, Stephen Bannon, and Rudy Giuliani Also Trump supporters in Congress Kevin McCarthy, Andy Biggs, Jim Jordan, Scott Perry, Ronny Jackson, and Mo Brooks. Of the Trump insiders who did show (Bill Barr, Bill Stepien, Greg Jacob, and Michael Luttig), they offered testimony that mainly contributed to the abundant evidence of Trump's guilt.

If Trump really wants the Committee to hear his side of the story,
he could direct his supporters to stop obstructing and agree to testify.

Better yet, he could volunteer to testify himself.
The Committee would welcome him and give him as much time as he wants.

After a federal grand jury in New York issued subpoenas for board members of the special purpose acquisition company that plans to take former President Donald Trump’s social media site "Truth Social" public, shares for the company fell more than 9% in pre-market trading after the subpoenas were revealed, Forbes reports.

The SEC launched a probe of the company, Digital World Acquisition Corp. (DWAC), in December, and the subpoenas seek some of the same documents the SEC asked for in its investigation "as well as requests related to communications with several individuals and information regarding venture capital and private equity company Rocket One Capital," Forbes report stated.

"The investigation came after multiple outlets reported Trump had met with DWAC Chief Executive Patrick Orlando before the company went public," Forbes reported. "The meeting could have broken
SEC rules that prohibit SPACs from identifying a target company before raising money."

DWAC shares also fell in April after news reports stated that Tesla CEO Elon Musk had been approved by Twitter’s board of directors to acquire the company for $44 billion.

Trump's Truth Social is blocking Jan 6 information from being shared.

On Tuesday, The Daily Beast reported that a new study by Public Citizen suggests Truth Social, the social network founded by former President Donald Trump and billing itself as a___
haven for freedom of speech,
is stealthily blocking posts that mention the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol or the hearings about it.

"A researcher with the progressive advocacy group writes:
'In the wake of that [Jan. 6] hearing, I attempted to post, ‘Trump’s defamatory lies about Shaye Moss and her mother were cruel, racist, and dangerous.
Time for accountability. #Jan6 #january6th #January6thHearings.’
That post was blocked,'" reported Zachary Petrizzo.

"Elsewhere, the study alleges that posts in favor of abortion rights could be 'blocked' and fail to appear on the user’s profile. Neither a Trump spokesperson nor a Truth Social representative returned The Daily Beast’s requests for comment Tuesday evening," Petrizzo added.

"The study follows The Daily Beast’s reporting on pro-Trump users accusing the platform of
'censorship' with its 'sensitive content' notices."

"The Daily Beast further reported on a pro-MAGA Truth Social influencer claiming Trump had blocked her," it continues.

Truth Social was financed by a so-called "blank check company," or special purpose acquisition company, known as Digital World Acquisition.

The deal was controversial, as many investors reportedly didn't even know their money was going to finance a project involving the former president, and the company recently faced federal grand jury subpoenas as regulators scrutinize the merger.

Many executives initially involved in the project have since bailed out amid problems with getting the platform up and running.

On Monday, Guy Reffitt was sentenced to a little over seven years in prison for his involvement in the
Jan. 6 attack. He was one of those who was able to get a handgun into the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 and was caught in a video talking about wanting to kidnap House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and drag her down the stairs so her head hit every step.

“I was not thinking clearly,” Reffitt told the judge before apologizing to U.S. Capitol Police officers,
the judge, and to Congress.
