Colorado: 30,000 noncitizens got vote registration mailer
Colorado’s secretary of state’s office says it mistakenly sent postcards to about 30,000 noncitizens encouraging them to register to vote
ByJAMES ANDERSON Associated Press
October 10, 2022, 2:46 PM

DENVER -- Colorado’s secretary of state office says it mistakenly sent postcards to about 30,000 noncitizens encouraging them to register to vote, blaming the error on a database glitch related to the state's list of residents with driver's licenses.

The office of Democratic Secretary of State Jena Griswold insisted none of the noncitizens will be allowed to register to vote if they try.

The news comes at a time of widespread skepticism — often unfounded — of voting integrity following the 2020 presidential election and as Griswold, who has touted her role as a national advocate for secure elections, seeks reelection in the November midterms.

Colorado’s Republican Party chair, Kristi Burton Brown, condemned Griswold for the error, saying in a Monday statement that “Jena Griswold continues to make easily avoidable errors just before ballots go out" by mail on Oct. 17.

Griswold faces Republican Pam Anderson, a former suburban Denver clerk and head of the state's county clerks association, who is a staunch advocate of Colorado's all-mail voting system.

Griswold’s office said in a statement that the postcards were mailed Sept. 27. The error happened after department employees compared a list of names of 102,000 people provided by the Electronic Registration Information Center, a bipartisan, multistate organization devoted to voter registration, to a database of Colorado residents issued driver’s licenses.

That Department of Revenue driver's license list includes residents issued special licenses for people who are not U.S. citizens. But it didn't include formatting information that normally would have allowed the Department of State to eliminate those names before the mailers went out, Griswold’s office said Monday.

The incident is under investigation, it said. Colorado Public Radio News first reported the error.

Colorado is among at least 18 states, along with the District of Columbia, that issue driver’s licenses to non-U.S. citizens, according to the National Council on State Legislatures. Colorado also automatically registers eligible voters when they obtain their driver's license from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Griswold’s office said it was unaware that anyone who received the postcards in error had tried to register.

It is sending notices to the roughly 30,000 people who aren’t citizens but who mistakenly received the postcards. And it is applying several efforts to prevent or reject anyone not eligible to vote from registering, including comparing Social Security Numbers required for each application, on a daily basis. County clerks also will refer suspect cases to local district attorneys for review.

Sean Morales-Doyle, director of the Voting Rights Program at the Brennan Center for Justice, said the fact that the mistake was caught shows the system is working.

“It should show, first of all, that mistakes can happen, but secondly that there are checks in place to make sure mistakes don’t result in disaster,” Morales-Doyle said. “It's not good this happened. It appears to be a case of human error and a database error and not some conspiracy, which I think some critics would seize on.”

Morales-Doyle said there have been very few incidents of noncitizens attempting to register in the U.S. because the consequences are so severe — up to and including deportation.

The Electronic Registration Information Center, known as ERIC, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving U.S. voter rolls and encouraging registrations. Some 33 states and the District of Colombia belong to the group. Under its contract with ERIC, Colorado sends a mailing to eligible residents encouraging them to register each election cycle.

The Colorado postcards, in English and Spanish, specify that residents must be U.S. citizens and at least 18 years old to register. They tell recipients how to register but are not a registration form.

Democrat-linked marketing firm offers $500 for online endorsement of Elissa Slotkin
Michigan Democrat's re-election race considered a toss-up
Published October 21, 2022 1:45pm EDT

A Democrat-linked, progressive marketing firm is offering $500 to content creators to give online endorsements to Rep. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., as she runs for re-election.

Slotkin, one of the many vulnerable Democrats running for re-election in 2022, is on the beneficial end of progressive digital marketing firm People First's offer to online content creators in the Great Lake State.

The firm is offering half a grand to content creators to give Democrat Slotkin an online endorsement as the midterm elections head into their final stretch.

Slotkin — whose race against Republican candidate Tom Barrett is considered a toss-up — is the subject of a new email marketing campaign from People First, offering $500 to Michigan content creators for an online endorsement.

An email obtained by Fox News Digital shows People First making the offer to Michigan content creators to "show support" for Slotkin and "combat misinformation online" for a $500 paycheck as part of their "The Truth is Out There Campaign."

According to the email between Katherine S., a digital relational organizer for People First, and a Michigan business, the firm reached out to the business to "share a paid content partnership with Michigan residents" and made the offer.

"If you’d be interested in helping us in this [get out the vote] effort, feel free to respond directly to this email or by filling out the form below," the email reads. "We’re offering $500 in payment to those willing to make one social media post or video."

More Voting Shenanigans, Mostly By Dems People-First-buying-endorsements-screenshot-1

Neither Slotkin’s campaign nor People First immediately responded to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

People First writes on their website that the election "season is quickly approaching, and with so much at stake in Michigan it can be hard to tell fact from fiction."

"We are looking for creators who value stable, collaborative, and bipartisan leadership for Michigan," the website says.

This call for bipartisanship, however, is undermined by the group’s history of campaigning for Democratic presidential candidates, as well as promoting embattled political organizations.

People First boasts on their website they "activated an army of BIPOC influencers to win a Presidential Election" for President Biden, as well as their work with progressive political organizations Fair Fight and Black Lives Matter.

The group also bragged about working with the children’s show "Sesame Street" to engage "parents on impactful ways to talk to their children about racial equity" and launching Planned Parenthood "on TikTok to champion sexual health for a new generation."

However, the progressive organization’s Democrat roots go deeper — the group’s Facebook page is managed by the United We Win Super PAC, a single-candidate super PAC supporting Democrat New Jersey Senator Cory Booker.

This means the political money being offered to help boost Slotkin's chances of re-election is likely not even coming from Michigan.

The endorsement offers come as Slotkin faces a tough race in a year predicted to favor Republicans.

Hundreds of thousands of mail ballots are being sent to unverified voters in Pennsylvania.

Guidance and directives from the PA Department of State instruct counties to register and mail ballots to voters who provide invalid ID or no ID.

Counties must attempt to obtain and verify identification which is likely to end in crisis as described in this report.

10-26-2022

The state lawmakers’ letter says the problem stems from a 2018 directive from her office___
“instructing counties to register voters without verification of identity.”

Ryan told The Daily Signal that a 2019 state audit found that the secretary of the commonwealth’s office was uncooperative and had an unreliable system for keeping election records under its Statewide Uniform Registry of Electors system, or SURE.

“All we are trying to do is get ahead of the balloting process this year,” Ryan said in a phone interview. “We are letting the [Pennsylvania] Department of State know we can minimize the number of challenges and fix this before the election.”

Ryan stressed that the issue is not about the outcome of elections.

“No one is saying this determines who wins and loses,” Ryan said.
“We are just saying the database is so broken it needs to be fixed.”

The letter notes that during a Sept. 14 hearing by the Pennsylvania House State Government Committee, Ryan asked Jonathan Marks, deputy secretary for elections and commissions, to explain___
why the secretary’s office made so many requests to the Social Security Administration’s Help America Vote Verification system.

Marks responded that it was to verify information on applications for mail-in ballots.
He told the committee that if someone submits invalid identification, the counties still must send a mail-in ballot to that requester.

During the hearing, Marks stressed the difference between voter registration and voting.

“[In] voter registration, there is no federal requirement or state requirement that those numbers match or that every voter has to have one of those two numbers.”

Marks told the Pennsylvania House committee, referring to either a state Transportation Department ID number or the last four digits of a Social Security number.

“With mail-in balloting, it is a requirement,” Marks said.
“lf when you apply, your PennDOT lD cannot
be verified or your last four of SSN cannot be verified, the county can still issue the ballot, but the ballot doesn’t count unless the voter provides a valid form of lD.”

However, the lawmakers’ letter notes, the Pennsylvania Department of State contradicted Marks when it issued guidance on Sept. 26 for examining return envelopes for absentee ballots. That guidance tells counties that verification of who a voter is must happen before they send such ballots to an applicant.

“Before sending the ballot to the applicant, the county board of elections confirms the qualifications of the applicant by verifying the proof of identification,” the state guidance says.

The total of 240,000 unverified ballots stands as of Oct. 21 data, the GOP lawmakers say in their letter. They ask the secretary’s office to issue a clarification to county election offices and to provide a list of applicants who requested mail-in ballots.

“Due to the conflicting information provided by your deportment,” Ryan and the other lawmakers write to Chapman, “counties should be required to certify that all of these ballots have been set aside and make a record of the type of identification produced by the voter who previously provided non-matching ID.”

(((it has nothing to do with Democrats)))

Go into a bank and try to get a loan with nothing to verify who you are. Or try to buy a car. Or get on an airplane. Good luck.

But to vote for the person who's going to have their finger on the nuclear button, sure no problem.

This needs to stop now.

And now for today's report from Arizona -

So out here we've got armed people in tactical gear camping out and watching the ballot boxes. It's not illegal for them to do so but a federal judge wants to make a decision on it. Naturally everyone on the left want them gone so they can get on with the cheating but it's probably going to drag through the courts until long after election day.

https://www.abc15.com/news/national/judge-considers-stopping-phoenix-ballot-drop-box-watchers

And if that's not enough let me introduce KatieGate! Seems Katie Hobb's campaign office was burglarized and things were taken. I wouldn't put much into this though as this is Phoenix after all and the burglars probably had more drugs in them than a pharmacy and didn't even know where they were but of course leftists are blaming everything from MAGAs to Nixon's ghost.

And what the hell, let's throw Temple a couple of bones -

Sitting in a chair watching people drop off a ballot is not voter intimidation. Unless the 'voter' is up to no good of course.

Arrest made in connection to burglary at Katie Hobbs' Phoenix campaign office

More Voting Shenanigans, Mostly By Dems 1L8T1Gh

PHOENIX - Arizona has seen yet another twist in the campaign to become the state's next governor, as police are investigating a break-in that happened at the campaign headquarters of the Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Katie Hobbs.

Police say an arrest has been made in connection to a burglary at Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs' campaign headquarters in Phoenix.

Officials say an officer saw one of the surveillance video images on a news story, and recognized the suspect as a man who had been arrested earlier in the day for an unrelated burglary.

The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Daniel Mota Dos Reis, was still in jail but was set to be released soon. Police contacted the jail and were able to re-arrest Dos Reis.

"Detectives later learned Dos Reis had the previously stolen property with him at the time he was originally arrested," police said. "The recovered stolen items were returned to the victims."

Florida’s new Office of Election Crimes and Security (OECS) has collected enough evidence of systemic ballot harvesting in the Orlando area to recommend state law enforcement open a full criminal investigation.

Ballot harvesting is illegal in Florida.

Just The News reports that the OECS investigation was launched after Cynthia Harris, a former candidate for Orange County Commissioner, filed a sworn affidavit with the Florida Secretary of State’s office. In her affidavit, Harris described a long-standing, systemic ballot-harvesting operation in the Orlando area.

Judge rules against voter intimidation claims and request for restraining order

A federal judge in Phoenix ruled Friday that members of the group Clean Elections USA can peacefully gather at ballot drop box locations in Maricopa County.

In refusing to grant a temporary restraining order, the judge wrote the court cannot do it without infringing core constitutional rights.

In his opinion, Judge Michael Liburdi said the request for a restraining order "implicates serious first amendment considerations. An individual's right to vote is fundamental. But so too is an individual's right to engage in political speech, assemble peacefully, and associate with others."

An appeal has been filed with the 9th circuit court as of Friday afternoon, according to officials.

Democratic groups fund third-party conservative longshots to siphon votes from Republican candidates
One Democratic group led by a former Bernie Sanders pollster is promoting a libertarian candidate
By Haris Alic | Fox News | Published October 31, 2022 12:00pm EDT

MSNBC host terrified about midterms for Democrats: ‘I’m really scared about a bloodbath’
On MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" Friday, Donny Deutsch issued a dire warning about Democratic candidates getting destroyed in the midterms because of the economic issues facing everyday Americans.

Political groups aligned with the Democratic Party are spending heavily to boost third-party longshot candidates in must-win races across the country as polls show Republicans gaining ground in the homestretch of the 2022 midterm elections.

Democratic groups have popped up in recent weeks to bolster third-party candidates in high-profile contests in which vulnerable Democrats are struggling.

Tied to Democratic operatives and firms, the groups are spending money to convince voters that the third-party longshots are the true "conservative" choice, efforts that can split the conservative vote and help ensure a Democratic victory.

"It's an old tactic and one that both parties have used," said Brad Bannon, a Democratic strategist who has run several high-profile campaigns. "It doesn't always work, but in a close race, if you can shift even a few hundred votes away from your opponent, it could mean the difference between winning and losing."

In Kansas, an organization called the American Center is putting tens of thousands of dollars behind independent gubernatorial nominee Dennis Pyle, who, in a recent poll, was at just 3% while the GOP and Democratic candidates were well ahead of him and running neck and neck. The American Center is working to contrast Pyle with the GOP nominee, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt.

"Meet conservative independent Dennis Pyle," says a recent digital ad sent out by the group via text message. "He's running as an independent against RINO Derek Schmidt, who supports illegal immigrants getting in-state tuition in Kansas.

The American Center, which shares an address with a prominent Washington, D.C.-based law firm used by the Democratic Party, is also spending $92,000 on radio ads boosting Pyle as the "real conservative" in the governor's race, intervening in the battle between Schmidt and incumbent Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly.

Political strategists say the organization is trying to splinter the GOP vote through deceptive advertising in hopes of ensuring a Democratic victory.

Democrats are similarly using the tactic in Michigan's 8th congressional district.

The Voter Protection Project (VPP), run by a former pollster to Sen. Bernie Sanders, has spent nearly $160,000 in recent weeks to promote Libertarian Party candidate David Canny. The money has gone into digital ads and campaign mailers contrasting Canny, a retired retail seller of seafood, with GOP nominee Paul Junge.

"Paul Junge spent a career in California politics," one of the group's mailers said. "Don't let Paul Junge bring California values to Michigan. David [Canny] will stop wasteful spending."

Junge, a small businessman and lawyer, is running against incumbent five-term Democratic Rep. Kildee. Most political prognosticators have rated the contest a toss-up. A poll conducted over the summer found Kildee only up three points over Junge.

VPP did not respond to requests for comment for this story. In recent years, the organization has raised millions to bolster Democratic candidates committed to expanding voting rights and stopping voter suppression.

Republicans were quick to note the irony of the organization trumpeting democracy while utilizing tactics that some say are "undemocratic."

"The new Democrat playbook is to meddle in our elections by boosting the libertarian candidate," said a spokesman for the Michigan Republican Party. "Confusing the public and attempting to suppress voters."

VPP is using the same tactic against Republicans in Kansas' 3rd congressional district. The group has even launched a website contrasting GOP nominee Amanda Adkins with Libertarian candidate Steve Hohe.

"Lobbyist and career politician Amanda Adkins serves the interests of the D.C. elites," the site states. "Steve Hohe will: crackdown on illegal immigration [and] eliminate the federal income tax and replace with a flat tax."

National Republicans are bullish that Adkins, who ran for the Kansas City-centered seat in 2020, can oust two-term Democratic Rep. Sharice Davids. To make sure that doesn't happen, VPP has already spent more than $261,000 on ads and mailers attacking Adkins as insufficiently conservative

Apart from boosting third-party candidates, VPP is also running ads in a heated California matchup, calling Rep. David Valadao a traitor for having voted to impeach former President Trump. The group's maneuver comes as Valadao is fighting a general election matchup against Democrat Rudy Salas.

The use of such tactics is nothing new for Democrats. Earlier this year, the party spent heavily to boost far-right Republicans in contested primaries from Arizona to Pennsylvania in an effort to prevent stronger candidates from ascending to the general election.

Court chaos continues as right-wing True the Vote leaders are thrown in jail.

The two leaders of the far-right group True the Vote have been hauled off to jail as of Monday afternoon, according to Votebeat Texas.

Gregg Philips and Catherine Engelbrecht were told that until they follow a federal judge's order to identify the man they say is an FBI informant in a defamation case they must remain in jail.

The case involves a right-wing conspiracy theory about misconduct by the technology company Konnech, which has since sued True The Vote for defamation.
They allege that the group is targeting their company in a viral social media campaign that is damaging their business and it has resulted in a barrage of threats against the CEO and his family.

Philips and Engelbrecht claimed that an unidentified man, allegedly an FBI agent, helped investigate the company for they say giving poll worker information to China. In fact, they're misconstruing an actual case in which the CEO, Eugene Yu is accused of compromising a very small amount of county employee voter data to China.

"Of course, that criminal case does not show anything resembling the election fraud True the Vote has falsely claimed went down in the U.S."
said Votebeat Texas.

The group is the same one behind the 2,000 mules movie that alleges a slew of unfounded election conspiracies.

PostSubject: DOJ Weighs In On Ballot Drop Box Intimidation Lawsuit.   More Voting Shenanigans, Mostly By Dems EmptyMon Oct 31, 2022 7:13 pm

10-31-2022

DOJ weighs in on ballot drop box intimidation lawsuit.

The Department of Justice has given a glimpse of its legal opinion on a case seeking a temporary restraining order in federal court against a group that is surveilling drop boxes across the state.

Two separate lawsuits have been filed aiming to stop extremist groups from surveilling drop boxes in Maricopa and Yavapai counties.
The lawsuits sought to bar three groups — the Arizona chapter of the Oath Keepers, the Yavapai County-based Lions of Liberty, and Clean Elections USA, which is run by QAnon-linked Melody Jennings — from continuing to surveil drop boxes.

The judge overseeing one of the cases last week declared that the injunction being sought in one of the cases against Jennings would likely violate the First Amendment_
but the case in which the DOJ is now attaching itself is seeking different injunctions and looking to present different evidence to the court.

The case, brought by Protect Democracy on behalf of the League of Women Voters of Arizona, has now been consolidated alongside the case brought by the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans, which is currently appealing Friday’s ruling to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

“Although lawful poll-watching activities can support democratic transparency and accountability, when private citizens form ‘ballot security forces’ and attempt to take over the State’s legitimate role of overseeing and policing elections, the risk of voter intimidation,
___and violating federal law —
is the DOJ said in its letter to the court.

The DOJ also expressed concern over the groups making “baseless allegations of felonious conduct”
at voters who are attempting to vote, which could amount to voter intimidation.

Something Judge Michael Liburdi, a Trump appointee and former attorney for Gov. Doug Ducey, discussed with attorneys during Monday’s hearing.

In one example Liburdi gave, a spouse could be asked to deliver a ballot for their spouse and, upon arriving at a drop box, be “coerced or intimidated” into thinking that they violated or are about to violate the law by dropping off someone else’s ballot.
Arizona law permits members of the same household, caregivers and blood relatives to drop off ballots.

Liburdi said that this could be a violation of the Voting Rights Act if a voter then failed to vote due to having a false belief that they were breaking the law due to people at a drop box location spreading this belief.

Attorneys representing the League of Women Voters of Arizona said they have examples of Clean Elections USA’s behavior leading to exactly that result.

While Liburdi’s Oct. 28 ruling said that groups participating in drop box surveillance had a First Amendment right to do so, the DOJ in its statement of interest argued that the court may be able to craft relief for violations of the Voting Rights Act that are still consistent with the First Amendment.

“While the First Amendment protects expressive conduct and peaceable assembly generally, it affords no protection for threats of harm directed at voters,” the DOJ said.

The DOJ argued that First Amendment protections alone do not protect a group from engaging in unlawful activity such as voter intimidation.

“Even if those engaging in voter intimidation were protected by their right to assemble, an injunction that is narrowly tailored to further a significant or compelling interest would not run afoul of the First Amendment,” the DOJ said.

“Courts have accordingly provided injunctive relief that bars individuals from taking certain intimidating actions —
such as following voters, taking pictures of license plates outside polling locations, or accusing voters of engaging in illegal activities —
in order to protect voting rights, based on the particular factual circumstances of each case.”

The First Amendment and finding a way to tailor an order that is amenable to both parties will likely be key to the case going forward and was the key point of contention and discussion Monday.

Alexander Kolodin, a Republican candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives in District 3, said the restraining order being sought by Protect Democracy was seeking to restrain “prior speech”
by his client, Jennings, who had retained him over the weekend.

“This is core First Amendment protected activity,” Kolodin told the court, arguing that photographing and videotaping of vehicles and voters outside of the 75-foot limit in state law was within the First Amendment rights of the groups participating in it. “There is no reasonable expectation of privacy on a public street.”

Kolodin also argued that “private citizens have a greater right” to record drop box sites than the government when it was brought up that some local governments, like Yavapai County, have already begun installing cameras at drop box locations.

He also accused Protect Democracy of trying to exhaust Jennings’ resources by bringing the suit on an expedited basis.

Attorneys representing the League of Women Voters argued that their case is different from the case brought by the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans, as it shows that Jennings’ group circulated personal information of voters and that threats were made against individual voters.

Rodkangyil Orion Danjuma, an attorney for Protect Democracy, said that while he knows Liburdi is concerned about the “chilling effect” a ruling could have on the First Amendment, the requested restraining order intends to target just the activities by Clean Elections USA.

Danjuma also responded to Kolodin’s claims, saying that the case was not about exhausting the resources of Jennings’ group at all.

“The fear that (voters) have is palpable,” Danjuma told the court, before asking that certain evidence presented in the case be sealed to protect the identities of voters who have come forward with stories of voter intimidation.

Kolodin objected, saying it was possible that a witness could be someone who “knows” Jennings or his clients and may have a grudge. But the judge agreed to keep the requested information and witnesses sealed.

Although the case originally included Lions of Liberty and the Yavapai County Preparedness Team, the formal name of the Arizona Chapter of the Oath Keepers, the groups were dismissed Monday from the case they had stopped their drop box activities.

Jim Arroyo, the leader of the YCPT, and the head of the Lions of Liberty, appeared in court Monday and said they would not resume their activities.

Liburdi warned them that, if they decided to restart any activities, they could be subject to further action from the court, to which Arroyo responded, “Yes sir, we have stood down.”

An evidentiary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday at noon.

'Grandma Karen' Caught Stealing Republican Yard Signs, Says She's Fighting 'Fascists'
By Kira Davis | 6:30 PM on October 31, 2022

Scott Davison is a grassroots candidate for school board in Carlsbad, California. Like many other Republican candidates, Davison has been complaining of his opponents and/or their supporters stealing yard signs.

It’s not an uncommon practice for Democrats. Stealing yard signs is just one more form of censorship, albeit a low-level one. In local races, name recognition is as important as platform stances. For better or worse, some voters just choose who seems familiar for offices they don’t know much about.

Back to the signs. Davison says sign stealing in his school board race has become particularly egregious lately. Unsurprising given the election hole Democrats seem to have dug for themselves over the last two years.

Enter one brave, social justice warrior, who took it upon herself to save America by stealing the property of Republicans she hates. Fortunately, her brave heroics were caught on camera by a supporter of Davison’s. The Carlsbad candidate posted the video on Monday.

In the video, an elderly woman can be seen walking down the sidewalk with a giant tote bag on her shoulder. The bag was suspiciously “sign-shaped.” Perhaps she was carrying a giant checkerboard? Or a foldable dance mat for impromptu breakdancing battles?

Or maybe a sign?

The driver asks the woman why she removed Republican signs, particularly one for Brian Maryott, Republican congressional candidate (although according to Davison his signs were also taken). Grandma Karen’s response is thorough, thoughtful and intelligent.

“Because these people are fascists.”

Oh. Well then. Carry on.

The driver did not let Grandma Karen carry on, however. He pressed her about her theft.

Driver: I just saw you take the Maryott sign down.

GK: Do you want it?

Driver: No, I don’t think you should be doing that. That’s theft, first of all.

GK: It’s on public land!

Political signs are considered property, and theft of political signs is considered property theft and/or destruction under the law in almost every town in America. I suppose Grandma Karen thinks it would be just fine to go vandalize a library or a community center, as they are “public land.”

When the driver asks why she only took the Republican signs and left the Democrat signs she responds:

“I took some other signs!”

Not only does Grandma Karen admit to stealing Republican signs because she doesn’t like Republicans, she actually admits on video that she stole the other missing signs as well. The Democrats are not really sending their best.

Davison says he does not find it surprising that his opponent’s supporters would resort to illegal behavior. They have smeared him as a “liar, bigot, bully and anti-LGBTQ+” and once you’ve made a demon out of a human being, shallow thinkers feel justified in any kind of behavior, in the name of “justice.”

Davison says he has filed a police report with the Oceanside Police Department and his team is currently working to identify the sign thief and have a few leads.

Republican candidates and or local GOP offices should start thinking about setting up teams to track thefts like this. While it seems silly , it’s not inconsequential, and the only way to force election integrity is to hold thieves and anti-democracy activists accountable for their law-breaking. It has to cost them something, because they’ve already cost America far too much.

The use of such tactics is nothing new for Democrats. Earlier this year, the party spent heavily to boost far-right Republicans in contested primaries from Arizona to Pennsylvania in an effort to prevent stronger candidates from ascending to the general election.

Arizona’s Libertarian Senate Candidate Quits and Endorses Masters
Magan Crane, Tue, November 1, 2022 at 6:13 AM

(Bloomberg) -- The Libertarian candidate running for Senate from Arizona, Marc Victor, is dropping out and endorsing Blake Masters, offering the Republican a potential boost in the close race that could determine control of the chamber.

The move, announced in a video released on Tuesday, could help Masters in the final days of his race to unseat Democratic Senator Mark Kelly.

“While we don’t see eye to eye on everything, I feel very confident after that conversation that Blake Masters is going to do everything that he possibly can to further the interests of the Live and Let Live Global Peace Movement,” Victor said. “There are no perfect choices here. We have to recognize that.”

In the most recent New York Times/Siena College poll released Monday, Victor was polling at just 1%. Kelly has held a steady but narrow lead in the polls ahead of next week’s vote, and even a small move toward Masters could help him.

Voting has already begun in Arizona, where many people vote early and by mail, minimizing the impact of Victor’s late decision to drop out.

Fact-checker blows up Trump’s conspiracy theory about Pennsylvania ballots

Former President Donald Trump is once again spreading conspiracy theories about America's elections.

On Tuesday, Trump shared a link to a story on the far-right website Just the News titled, "Election integrity storm brewing in PA:
Over 250k ballots sent to voters with unverified ID."

"Here we go again!" Trump posted to Truth Social. "Rigged election!"

Sara Dorn of Forbes magazine quickly wrote a fact-check titled__
"Trump Claims Pennsylvania Is Sending Out Unverified Ballots—Here’s Why That’s False."

"The article references a letter sent by 12 Republican state lawmakers to Pennsylvania's Acting Secretary of the Commonwealth Leigh Chapman last week claiming some counties 'count the ballots without the ID from the voter,' while others 'fix the invalid ID in the system,'" Forbes reported.

"The claims are false:
Pennsylvania voters must show proof of identification to cast their ballots in person in Pennsylvania or to apply for a mail-in ballot, according to the Department of State__

And in the “vast majority” of cases, their identities are verified automatically by a system that cross-references other state databases, such as the Department of Transportation’s license directory, Chapman said in a letter to Republican lawmakers."

The ballots are not counted unless the identity
is verified.

In his letter, Chapman wrote__
“Your claims reflect a misunderstanding of the laws guiding processes surrounding voter registration and absentee/mail-in ballot applications."

The website Trump linked to, Just the News, was founded by John Solomon. Trump believed Solomon's reporting on the Biden family and Ukraine, which resulted in his first impeachment. His second impeachment was for inciting violence by spreading lies about the 2020 election.

Solomon is one of Trump's official representatives to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). Following the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago, Solomon released a letter from NARA to Trump's lawyers that experts said was incredibly damning.

A Milwaukee election official could face criminal charges accusing her of fraudulently requesting absentee ballots reserved for members of the military and sending them to a Republican lawmaker to prove how easy it is to defraud the Wisconsin election system.

Milwaukee Election Commission deputy director Kimberly Zapata, 44, of South Milwaukee, was fired by Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson this week after Johnson discovered she had requested the ballots.

Johnson said Zapata said she committed the crime to show voter fraud was possible.

“This has every appearance of being an egregious and blatant violation of trust,” Johnson said. “Election integrity is absolutely integral. It’s absolutely essential.” Milwaukee County prosecutors are considering charging Zapata with malfeasance in office, a felony, and illegally requesting a ballot, a misdemeanor.

District Attorney John Chisholm said in a statement his office is reviewing the election fraud allegations and that prosecutors “expect charges to be filed in the coming days.”
