The National Debt Empty
PostSubject: The National Debt    The National Debt EmptyThu Jan 19, 2023 7:05 pm

Donald Trump raised the debt ceiling 3 times --
ballooning the national debt by 39% in just 4 years.

For context, roughly 25% of our total national debt incurred over the last 230 years actually occurred during the 4 years of the Trump administration. That's right. 25% of our entire national debt, all during the Trump years.
8 years under Bush, now 10t.
8 years under Obama, now 20t.
4 years under Trump, now 28t.

(((( Recalling that candidate Donald Trump promised to eliminate the entire national debt “over a period of 8 years)))))

Trump raised debt by 7.8 trillion dollars in 4 years.
"The truth of the matter is that the first two years of the Trump administration, when the Republicans had the House and the Senate, we raised spending faster than the last couple of years of the Obama administration."

The steepest year to year increase in the public debt ever happened in 2019 as a result of the first year (2018) effects of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Republicans controlled the WH and the 2 branches of Congress.
