The media basically sucks these days. No matter where you slice it, it's the Trump show pretty much everywhere. There's no followup on things going on in the world. Online, there's a glut of choices, each with its own perspective, most just junky knockoffs (like everything else). So if you have 10 people, there are 10 different worldviews because they're each getting "news" from a different source, and nobody's getting the truth.

I cancelled my cable service about 5 years ago, but mainstream media networks are on youtube now, so I can watch them if/when I get the notion ...I'll agree that they suck but my opinion as to *why* is likely much different than your's

You're wrong ..Reports from credible sources will align with those from other credible sources ...They don't parrot mainstream media narratives and add their own twists.

There are youtubers that travel around the world and report on events first hand without prejudice or a "dog in the fight" .. They don't have mega million dollar corps. backing them and some create videos in their basements, bedrooms, whatever ...I've found these to be far more honest and credible than the mainstream media without the propaganda and/or extreme bias ...They're (or were) funded by ad revenue (ads on their videos) and donations from subscribers to their channels ...Anyway

Over the past couple years many of these channels have been demonetized (no longer allowed ads on their vids), Videos deleted, buried in google search, and entire channels shut down completely ..I believe it's more than coincidental that this has been happening since the mainstream media channels like CNN, MSNBC, have been spiraling down the shitter

...People would rather get their info from the more credible youtubers which takes clicks and views (revenue) from mainstream channels ...So the mega million $$ corp. networks go after youtube/Google to demonetize and/or shut down these long time youtube channels ..and I've also mentioned that they've gone after sites like Patreon and PayPal to cut off the means for subscribers to support them

Why does any of that matter? ...If it continues in this direction the only info we'll get is what they choose for us to have ...No independent sources that conflict with the mainstream media, which AFAIC, is little more than an arm of the democratic party
