Nixon'
a burglary by five men of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters at the Watergate office complex.
It was discovered through the work of a few *Journalists* an election-finance watchdog official.
Then after- it was investigated by the United States Congress.
-and that;
resulted in the indictment of 69 people, with trials or pleas resulting in 48 being found guilty, many of whom were top Nixon officials.
-and that;
revealed that Nixon had attempted to 'cover-up' and to use federal officials to 'deflect' the investigation.
-and then
He was charged with;
obstruction of justice, abuse of power, and contempt of Congress
-and that;
lead to his impeachment ..
(he was given the option to resign, he has carried the shame stain through his death, as will trump.
It was Nixon's attempt to cover up his deeds by the obstruction, abuse of power, contempt of congress/ not answering to subpoenas.
