Dead people caught voting in NYC, elections records show

Ballots have been mailed in to the New York City Board of Elections in the name of dead voters, The Post has learned.

Records show that the elections board received an absentee ballot from a Frances Reckhow of Staten Island, a registered Democrat.

The BOE mailed an absentee ballot requested by Frances M. Reckhow of Bedell Avenue on Sept. 24.

Reckhow supposedly mailed the ballot back on Oct. 6 and the BOE received it and declared it valid on Oct. 8, tracking records show.

But there’s a problem: Frances Reckhow, who was born on July 6, 1915 and would be 105 today, died in 2012, according to an obituary filed with The Staten Advance.

Her daughter, Carol Huben, a registered Republican according to voting records, is listed as residing at the same address as her late mother.

Huben did not return phone messages for comment. The Board of Elections said they will look into it.

An absentee ballot was also mailed from a Gertrude Nizzere, also a registered Democrat, who was born on Feb. 7, 1919 and would be 101 today.

The BOE said someone identifying as Gertrude Nizzere, with an address of Shore Road in Brooklyn, requested an absentee ballot in September..

Records show the Nizzere ballot was mailed on Oct. 9 and it was received back by the BOE on Oct.13, which declared the ballot valid on Oct. 25.

But after further review, the agency on Oct. 30 declared the Nizzere ballot received “Invalid” because a search found the voter was “Deceased,” its records show.

The Staten Island Republican Party, which is closely scrutinizing the absentee ballots, flagged the two records to The Post and is referring the matter to the police and Staten Island District Attorney Michael McMahon’s office.

A close outcome is expected between first-term Democratic Rep. Max Rose and Republican Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis for the 11th congressional seat covering Staten Island and southern Brooklyn, including Rekhow and Nizzere’s addresses.

“People should be on the alert for dead people voting. There are people using the names of dead voters to cast ballots,” said Staten Island GOP chairman Brendan Lantry.

Change to:“I believe this is just the tip of the iceberg,” said Lantry. “We’re requesting that the NYPD and the Staten Island District Attorney’s office investigate.

Republicans discovered that Nizzere died on July 4, 2016 and is buried in Calverton cemetery.

Filling out a ballot in a dead person’s name is fraud and has resulted in prosecutions elsewhere, including recently on Long Island, where a voter was accused of forging his dead mom’s name on an absentee ballot.

The Board of Elections said it was looking into the matter. The absentee ballots don’t get counted until six days after Election Day in New York.

President Trump has raised concerns about mail-in balloting, including after the city BOE was forced to resend nearly 100,000 absentee ballots to Brooklyn voters after a vendor provided the wrong return envelopes with other people’s names.

Someone appears to have attempted to register dozens of dead people as Democrats in Florida, Steven Vancore, Broward County Supervisor of Elections spokesperson, confirmed in an emailed statement to Fox News.

Officials in Broward County, a Democratic stronghold and Florida’s second-most populous county, uncovered the scheme over the summer.

“Fortunately the system we have in place works, the improper registrations were flagged in a timely manner and the information was turned over to law enforcement for prosecution,” Vancore added. “We are also pleased to inform you that there was no attempt by this person or persons to cast a ballot.”

Florida, a key swing state in the 2020 election, that is heavily targeted by President Trump's and former Vice President Joe Biden's campaigns.

Broward County supervisor of elections officials flagged the registrations as suspicious and turned them over to the Broward state attorney’s office.

“We cannot comment on an ongoing, active criminal investigation,” state attorney’s office spokeswoman Paula McMahon told The Associated Press in an email.

But the correspondence between the state attorney’s office and Broward Elections Supervisor Pete Antonacci shows that officials could not determine who mailed the registrations because there was no return address. The registration applications were received in 19 envelopes.

Thirty of the 51 were verified by the state attorney’s office as being deceased. The identities of the other 21 could not be verified by only date of birth and name, Assistant State Attorney Tim Donnelly said in a letter to Antonacci dated Oct. 22.

The incident was first reported by the South Florida SunSentinel, which reported that someone from South Carolina submitted at least 50 voter applications to the Broward elections office, and about 30 of the people were dead.

Five of the names were already on the voter rolls, but investigators said no absentee ballots had been requested. The deadline to request a mail-in ballot was Oct. 24.

The SunSentinel reported that at least three of the applications evaded detection and were added to the Broward voter rolls in July. Two of those people had died in June.

The registration applications were sent in 19 envelopes, though authorities have yet to determine who mailed them.

The fraud was uncovered when the SunSentinel asked about a handful of suspicious voter ID cards sent to a man in Davie, which were deemed to be part of a larger scheme.

Judicial Watch finds 1.8 million 'ghost voters' in 29 states, warns of 'dirty elections'

Judicial Watch has released a comparison study of Census Bureau population statistics and state voter registration data to reveal a notable disparity. The watch dog group is now warning of potential voter fraud and “dirty” voter rolls.

The study found that 352 U.S. counties in 29 states managed to have 1.8 million more registered voters than eligible voting-age citizens.

“In other words, the registration rates of those counties exceeded 100% of eligible voters. The study found eight states showing state-wide registration rates exceeding 100%: Alaska, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont,” reported Tom Fitton, president of the watchdog group.

Some of that excess ran as high as 187% in Texas, 177% in New Mexico and 171% in South Dakota.

“The new study of excess — or ghost voters — highlights the recklessness of mailing blindly ballots and ballot applications to voter registration lists. Dirty voting rolls can mean dirty elections,” Mr. Fitton noted.

Michigan's election has more than 77,000 spoiled ballots. Here's what that means.

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Secretary of State's Office says there were 77,483 spoiled ballots associated with the presidential election in Michigan as of Tuesday morning.

But the number, which drew attention when it was reported by CNN, requires some context, said Tracy Wimmer, a spokesperson for the agency. It includes ballots spoiled because of printing errors and ones voters intentionally spoiled so they could fill out their absentee ballots again, she said.

"We do not have a breakdown on spoiled reasons, but the biggest thing to focus on is that spoiled does not mean rejected," Wimmer said. "In no instance with a spoiled ballot does that mean someone did not vote, unless they actively chose not to."

Wimmer said the major reasons for spoiled ballots are:

Printing errors discovered prior to the ballot reaching the voter. There were several thousand of those, spokesman Jake Rollow said. The ballot is spoiled and a new one is printed and issued to the voter, who is still able to vote.

The voter decided to change their vote or thinks they might have made a mistake after voting absentee. They go to their local clerk to spoil the ballot sent in earlier and fill out a new one.

The voter is alerted to a signature issue on the ballot by their clerk and when they go in to remedy the error, they elect to spoil the ballot and cast a new one.

The voter is concerned their ballot will not reach them or the clerk in time because of mail delays. They elect to go in person to their clerk’s office, request to spoil their original ballot and receive a new one.

Michigan is one of only a few states where voters who have sent in an absentee ballot can go to the clerk and retrieve it, up to the day before Election Day, spoil it, and fill out a new ballot. Reasons can vary but they include voters who change their minds about who they want to support and those who realize or suspect they made an error the first time around.

Ballots can also be rejected because of voter error. For example, ballots are rejected if a voter marks an intention to vote straight ticket and then votes for candidates from both major political parties. Those types of errors are not detected until officials start counting the ballots. Counting began for absentee ballots at 7 a.m. local time Tuesday morning and will begin for same-day ballots as soon as the polls close at 8 p.m. Tuesday

Whistleblowers: Postal Service labeled Trump mail ‘Undeliverable,’ 388,000 ballots backdated, ‘disappear’

Several whistleblowers on Tuesday cast new uncertainty on the 2020 election process, claiming up to 288,000 ballots disappeared, another 100,000 were improperly backdated, and mail promoting President Trump was junked while mail for Joe Biden was delivered.

In the most extraordinary report, a U.S. Postal Service contractor said his trailer full of 144,000-288,000 completed mail-in ballots, which he drove between New York and Pennsylvania, disappeared after he delivered it to a Lancaster, Pennsylvania, depot.

Another claimed that ballots were backdated by postal workers, and in Traverse City, Michigan, Trump campaign mail was put in bins labeled “Undeliverable Bulk Business Mail” while the same type of mail for Joe Biden was ordered to be delivered on time.

And a third raised new issues about the integrity of Dominion voting machines.

The claims were unveiled by the Amistad Project of the Thomas More Society, which has mounted an independent investigation of voting and voter registration in several key battleground states. It recently made headlines by revealing that the FBI has requested the findings of its Voter Integrity Project.

The project has uncovered potential flaws and fraud in ballots and voter registration of several states that have certified the election counts in favor of Biden.

In today’s release, and in a press conference, the group said that whistleblowers found that election officials in mostly Democratic areas manipulated ballots and campaign mail, potentially influencing the outcome.

“The whistleblower accounts released today, detail the failure of election officials in blue jurisdictions to maintain ballot chain of custody, allowing for the potential infusion of fraudulent ballots. These accounts include photographs of individuals improperly accessing voting machines and a detailed eyewitness account of the breaking of sealed boxes of ballot jump drives and commingling of those jump drives with others,” said the legal outfit.

It added, “The accounts also reveal multi-state illegal efforts by USPS workers to influence the election in at least three of six swing states. Details include potentially hundreds of thousands of completed absentee ballots being transported across three state lines, and a trailer filled with ballots disappearing in Pennsylvania.”

In previewing today’s whistleblower accounts, the Amistad Project said:

Postal subcontractor Jesse Morgan on Oct. 21 moved 144,000-288,000 completed mail-in ballots from Bethpage, New York, to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where his trailer holding the ballots disappears.

Postal subcontractor Nathan Pease is told by two separate postal workers on two separate occasions that the USPS in Wisconsin was gathering over 100,000 ballots on the morning of Nov. 4 to backdate the ballots so that the ballots would be counted even if they arrived after the statutory deadline.

Computer expert Gregory Stenstrom of Pennsylvania witnessed a vendor of Dominion machines and local election officials download and update counting machines in violation of election system protocol and the comingling of machine jump drives in violation of election protocols and rendering audits impossible without direct forensic access to the machines.

Postal workers in Traverse City, Michigan; Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; Erie, Pennsylvania; and Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, indicate widespread malfeasance in the Postal Service including backdating ballots, ordering that Trump mail be interdicted to be placed in the ‘Undeliverable Bulk Business Mail’ bin, and emphasizing that Biden mail be delivered on time.
