Republicans Hint at Restarting Probes Into Hillary Clinton Dropped by FBI Ahead of 2016 Election

A GOP lawmaker on Friday suggested that the Republican-led House jump-start new investigations into failed 2016 Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton after special counsel John Durham’s report cited her campaign as being responsible for the phony ‘Russian collusion’ allegations against her rival, Donald Trump.

In an interview with Fox News, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) responded after co-anchor Sandra Smith noted that much of the mainstream media came out in defense of the FBI even after Durham’s report also pointed out that the bureau launched an investigation into Trump’s campaign over the collusion charges despite having no evidence to indicate they were valid.

“The media was in on this from the beginning, in my view. They’re the ones who were willing to launder out Hillary Clinton’s phony, made-up information about Donald Trump,” he said, adding it was “the same information that she used with her friends at the upper echelon of the FBI to start the ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ investigation.”

“So her media friends are not gonna come out now and say, ‘Oh yeah, you know what? We were wrong, and this is damning,'” Donalds continued. “They’re just gonna laugh it off, cover it for one or two days, and then ignore it. This is really dangerous for our country.”

Donalds went on to say that, in his view, the Durham report “clearly shows rank-and-file in the FBI, in three different offices, who had serious concerns about the Clinton Foundation” — which was launched by former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton after they left office.

Ahead of the 2016 election, the Justice Department and elements within the FBI had launched at least four investigations into the foundation and Hillary Clinton, who was accused of violating laws governing the handling of classified materials after it was discovered that she had her own personal email server located in her New York home while serving as President Barack Obama’s secretary of state. She was also under investigation for allegedly destroying classified materials and emails that were under congressional subpoena.

“I think one of the most damning things in this report that really isn’t talked about is that [then-CIA Director] John Brennan actually briefed Barack Obama and then-Vice President Joe Biden” in July 2016 “about what the Clinton campaign was doing,” Donalds said, adding that Congress has “no idea” what his reaction was to the briefing or the fact that then-FBI Director James Comey was overseeing the probe into the Trump campaign.

Obama “could have shut the whole thing down right then and there, and obviously, he did not,” the Florida lawmaker continued.

At that, co-anchor John Roberts circled back to the four investigations into the Clintons that were referenced in Durham’s report, noting they were simply shut down in the months heading into the November 2016 election and adding that some Republicans, including Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, would like to see them reopened.

“If the DOJ and the FBI refuse to do it, should there be congressional investigations?” Roberts asked.



“I totally agree. We should definitely be looking into this,” Donalds responded, going on to note that Durham’s report mentioned how abruptly the investigations were shut down as well as “back-channel” emails and communications between FBI personnel who believed Hillary was going to win the presidency and would retaliate against them if they continued their investigations.

Certain federal laws, including those for alleged violations governing the handling of classified materials, have statutes of limitations, however, so it isn’t clear that Clinton could be charged at this point.

Nevertheless, the situation “stinks,” Donalds declared, “and the American people need to know about it. So I think the investigations should be restarted into what was going on with the Clinton Foundation at the time.”

‘Nothing Is Off The Table’: Jordan Hints At Launching New Hillary Clinton Probe

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan revealed he’s open to investigating former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

During an interview on Fox News with host Maria Bartiromo, Jordan spoke about Special Counsel John Durham’s final report into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe. Jordan declared the alleged targeting of former President Donald Trump gives many Americans reason to question future elections and government agencies and said people need to go to jail.

“Do you want to see another investigation of Hillary and Bill Clinton? Because in the Durham report, John Durham wrote that while they were pursuing Trump, they made no effort to investigate the claim that Hillary Clinton was taking money from foreigners for her Clinton Global Initiative and the Clinton Foundation,” Bartiromo asked Jordan.

“They not only didn’t investigate her like they did President Trump, but they also gave her campaign a defensive briefing!” Jordan replied. “They should have done the same for President Trump because they literally had no evidence.”

“We’re going to give that a good hard look,” he continued, saying that he would consult with his lawyers and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. “But nothing is off the table because it is critical the American people understand how their government, their agencies have been turned on them, the taxpayer, and we get all the facts out there.”

Durham found the FBI used “uncorroborated intelligence” when it launched its investigation into Trump before the 2016 presidential election and that agents failed repeatedly to maintain “strict fidelity to the law” throughout the probe.

The Daily Caller noted crucial findings in the report about Hillary Clinton:

The report noted that the FBI received intelligence that Hillary Clinton’s campaign approved “a proposal from one of her foreign policy advisors to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services,” specifically one that involved “tying him to Putin and the Russians’ hacking of the Democratic National Committee” to distract the public from her email scandals. It notes that President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and FBI Director James Comey were personally briefed on Clinton’s scheme, known as the “Clinton Plan” in the report, by CIA Director John Brennan, who recorded mentioning the plan in his handwritten notes.

The “Clinton Plan” was obtained by the FBI while it was relying on the “Steele Dossier,” a discredited report of lurid allegations of Trump’s personal sexual activity, which the FBI knew was being funded and promoted by the Clinton campaign, according to the report. Durham quotes information from a meeting between the Dossier’s author, former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele, and FBI agents, as well as texts between FBI officials, to demonstrate that the agents knew the evidence was connected to Clinton.

Durham’s report also found that the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice wasted little time to investigate Trump and that there was a “notable departure” from the way it resisted efforts to investigate claims against Clinton’s campaign.

The FBI briefed Clinton staffers on information of possible threats aimed at the Clinton campaign but ignored intelligence it received from “a trusted foreign source pointing to a Clinton campaign plan to vilify Trump by tying him to Vladimir Putin so as to divert attention from her own concerns relating to her use of a private email server.”

Durham’s report also found that “neither U.S. nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement” of the investigation.

“Our investigation determined that the Crossfire Hurricane investigators did not and could not corroborate any of the substantive allegations contained in the Steele reporting,” the report found.

“Based on the review of Crossfire Hurricane and related intelligence activities, we conclude that the Department and the FBI failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law in connection with certain events and activities described in this report,” Durham said in the report.

That Durham investigation is a complete DUD .. Took him, what FOUR YEARS? just to confirm what everyone already knew .. Hillary Clinton Called Out By GOP Lawmaker Following Trump Indictment

Rep. Byron Donalds got into a heated exchange with a CNN host over former President Donald Trump’s indictment, even as he called out the 45th president’s 2016 rival.

The Florida Republican noted that while Trump has been charged with 37 federal counts related to his handling of classified materials, Donalds noted that his situation isn’t even close to the seriousness of Democratic figures like then-Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over their possession of highly classified materials.

“When you look at this information, and you look at what’s come down in the indictment, an indictment is a one-sided argument from the prosecution. The president and his team is going to have an opportunity to respond to this. And actually, in looking at the indictment, one of the things you also have to understand is that there is a lot of context issues here,” Donalds noted.

“The context you are getting directly from Jack Smith and deciding on what he thinks is relevant or not. Until the legal proceedings happen, you can’t go through that. Adds as a broader perspective, what you see is a political prosecution of Donald Trump because former officials of our government who did not have declassification ability and were not the head of the Executive Branch, they did significantly worse things with material and classified document material and the Department of Justice previous iterations just basically turned a blind eye and moved down the road, and that is why the American people look at this, they think it’s disgusting and they think it’s a two-tiered justice system simply to go after President Trump,” he added.

The host responded, “Your view and I think the view that reflects what I think Scott Jennings made clear a lot of Republicans feel based on what they have seen. I think these are very different…”

“No, no, no! Not feel. It’s not feel. Understand this. It is not feel. That is a fact,” Donalds insisted, adding that during her tenure in the Obama administration, Clinton destroyed emails and other materials that were under subpoena by the GOP-controlled House Oversight Committee, before going on.

“Joe Biden took classified document material as a United States senator. I’m a United States congressman. I am not allowed to remove classified documents. He took them as a United States senator. They were all over the place. That is a violation, actually, of the Espionage Act. And so there has been no talk, no dissemination, no investigation of any of those things,” Donalds noted.

Pushing back, the host noted:

I think if you want to look at the differences from what we know now, and you have made this point in the past, and it’s fair. We don’t know what is going on with the special counsel’s investigation, Robert Hur, but we know that the president — the current president appeared to have voluntarily turned over documents which I think is a pretty stark difference in this case specifically. But I also think when you mention that the Clinton case, the president is literally quoted in the indictment saying that he appreciated that the lawyer — Hillary Clinton’s lawyer — deleted the 30,000 emails or made an effort to and she didn’t get in trouble because he said that and he was the one who deleted them and basically said that that was a good thing and that was helpful to some degree.

Donalds noted:

Look, let me respond in this way. You have a situation here where now it’s apparently this audio that’s being talked about that, frankly, this audio transcript, let me say this, that’s being leaked from the Department of Justice. That’s not being leaked from anybody else. By the way, last time I checked, leaking information in a criminal probe, that is also a violation of the law.

So that stuff is being leaked to the press. CNN, you picked it up first, and it’s gone on from there. I don’t know the context of that audio. Even in this conversation, I don’t know the context because an indictment is a one-sided argument. That’s all it is. That’s where you have a full proceeding in front of a judge where defense counsel gets to about go back and forth. From a Republican political perspective, [Americans] are saying, ‘Well damn, if you are Donald Trump they gonna come get you for anything, but if you are Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden, they are going to investigate very, very slowly, and that’s not good for the United States of America.
