I don't see Trump being re-elected, as of now, but we'll see how things are in a few more months.
The thing with trump is - the republicans have the voting heavily gerrymandered. and a couple of the electoral/vote states are full of hillbillies and trump cultists. trump could lose the Popular vote by 4 million and still pull it off.. As Trump would say-- It's rigged !!!

He's already done something like that. The electoral college is corrupt like everything else. I get the initial concept of it - of course a rural area won't have the number of voters an urban area has - that's what makes it rural. Everyone's vote should count, and rural folks are a minority. Would we give every minority's vote more weight because they're a minority? NOPE.

Impeachment poised to pull top 2020 contenders from campaign trail
With the Democratic majority in the House of Representatives poised to vote to impeach the president later this month or in early January, the action would then move to the GOP-controlled Senate. And a trial – where all 100 senators would serve as the jury – could come just weeks before the Iowa caucuses (Feb. 3) and the New Hampshire primary (Feb. 11), the first two states to hold contests in the presidential nominating calendar.
That trial would effectively sideline from the campaign trail a total of six contenders: Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Cory Booker of New Jersey, Kamala Harris of California, Michael Bennet of Colorado and Klobuchar.
And their absence could particularly give a boost to two top-tier contenders not tied to a Senate trial – South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg and former Vice President Joe Biden -- as both Iowa and New Hampshire place an extra emphasis on person-to-person retail-style politics.

I watched a bit of it.. will see what the news have to show the highlights later tonight, read some newspapers.. It is too early the vote to hold an impeachment hasn't been done, yet.. and I'm more invested in the senate trail/whatever What is happening now will pale in comparison if the vote to hold an impeachment is a yes.. So- not too into as of now, I'm waiting for the good stuff.

Published 1 hour ago Ben Shapiro: Democrats don't even know why they're impeaching Trump By Nick Givas | Fox News
Pelosi rejects claim that impeachment inquiry is based on Democrats' dislike for Trump: I don't hate anyone.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi snaps at reporter's impeachment question, insists she prays for President Trump 'all the time.'
Congressional Democrats, led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, have overreached in their efforts to remove President Trump from office and don't even know on what charges they will impeach him, said Ben Shapiro on "The Ben Shapiro Show" Thursday.
"Hilariously enough... the Democrats don't even know what these articles of impeachment are going to encompass," he said. "The 300-page report brought forward by Adam Schiff yesterday... that report does not substantiate the charges to the extent necessary to support an impeachment effort."
Shapiro claimed Democrats should have settled for a resolution to censure the president.
"Democrats overreached here. Politically, strategically, legally," he said. "What they should have done is they should have moved forward on censure.
"They should have said, 'President Trump did something bad and he did something wrong here. And now we are moving forward with a censure motion.' And force Republicans between a rock and a hard place -- in the sense that if they don't vote for censure they look like hypocrites," Shapiro continued. "And second, if they did endorse a censure then Trump gets very angry and yells about them on Twitter and they get primaried."
Shapiro also said Democrats have known from the start their impeachment efforts would go nowhere.
"It's going nowhere in the Senate. We all know it's going nowhere in the Senate. The Democrats know it's going nowhere in the Senate," he said. "The reason they are rushing this thing forward... is because they know they do not have the goods."
"Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats had already pre-committed to impeachment, literally the day she opened an impeachment inquiry," Shapiro added. "Today, Nancy Pelosi announced, 'We're moving forward with these impeachment charges.' Now, that's hilarious also because as you'll recall, just yesterday Adam Schiff was saying, 'We're still making up our minds.' It's all Kabuki theater. From the moment she said 'impeachment inquiry,' impeachment was inevitable."

Published 2 hours ago Rep. Doug Collins claims Jerry Nadler hung up on him during Trump impeachment discussion By Charles Creitz | Fox News
House Judiciary Committee ranking member Doug Collins, R-Ga., says he has tried in vain to get an idea of how the panel will proceed in the impeachment process -- but claims the committee's Democratic chairman won't keep him informed.
In fact, Collins told Laura Ingraham Thursday on "The Ingraham Angle" that Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., even hung up on him when he called Nadler to get information.
"He never gets back to me," Collins said. "I'm trying to get a definition of what's going on -- 'Don't worry Doug, we'll talk to you.' Just the other day as I was trying to get information from him, he just gets tired of talking to me and just hangs up."
The North Georgia lawmaker said Nadler's alleged action is a symptom of the larger issue in the committee.
"They are so lost and so scared that they are going to lose this moment to get at this president," he said, calling the legislative panel a "farce."
Collins said one of the other senior Republicans on the committee, Rep. James Sensenbrenner of Wisconsin, has requested per committee rules a hearing for the GOP minority to call their own witnesses.
The response from Nadler or his fellow Democrats has thus far been unclear, Collins said.
"They don't want the truth to come out," he remarked, adding that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reportedly questioned Republicans' understanding of their oaths of office in regard to impeaching President Trump.
"It's not [used] to persecute a president that started in November 2016 in Brooklyn with tears flowing down your face because your candidate lost," he said, referring to Hillary Clinton's supporters at the candidate's New York City headquarters.
"The American people deserve better than this."
He added that when the results of the House Intelligence Committee's part of the impeachment investigation are presented next week, it will be an example of Nadler "trying to make chicken salad out of chicken Schiff."

Published 1 hour ago, Last Update 55 mins ago White House won’t participate in impeachment hearings, tells Nadler to 'end this inquiry now’ By Marisa Schultz, John Roberts | Fox News
The White House said Friday it will not participate in House Judiciary Committee impeachment proceedings, blasting the inquiry as "completely baseless" in a curt response to Democrats ahead of Monday's scheduled hearing.
“House Democrats have wasted enough of America’s time with this charade," White House counsel Pat Cipollone said in a scathing one-page letter to Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., obtained by Fox News. "You should end this inquiry now and not waste even more time with additional hearings."
Friday was the deadline for Trump to respond to Nadler's request for participation in committee proceedings.
But instead of giving House Democrats a direct "no" answer, Cipollone penned a two-paragraph letter derailing the entire process.
"As you know, your impeachment inquiry is completely baseless and has violated basic principles of due process and fundamental fairness," he wrote. "Nevertheless, the Speaker of the House yesterday ordered House Democrats to proceed with articles of impeachment before your Committee has heard a single shred of evidence.”
A senior administration official, though, made it clear they won't be participating, telling Fox News: "We don’t see any reason to participate because the process is unfair. Speaker (Nancy) Pelosi has already announced the predetermined result. They will not give us the ability to call any witnesses.”
Nadler is set to continue hearings in the committee on Monday.
The decision by the administration likely accelerates the pace of impeachment.
In 1998, the Clinton Administration took 30 hours to present its side of things to the Judiciary Committee. That means there may not be another hearing after Monday’s session.
Trump telegraphed Thursday he wanted to sidestep the House impeachment process and move quickly to the Senate where he believes he'll be acquitted by the GOP-led upper chamber.
“Therefore I say, if you are going to impeach me, do it now, fast, so we can have a fair trial in the Senate and so that our Country can get back to business,” Trump tweeted. “We will have Schiff, the Bidens, Pelosi and many more testify, and will reveal, for the first time, how corrupt our system really is.”
Cipollone repeated Trump's comments in the letter and said the House Democrats would be making a historically unjust mistake by plowing forward.
"Adopting articles of impeachment would be a reckless abuse of power by House Democrats, and would constitute the most injust, highly partisan and unconstitutional attempt at impeachment in our Nation’s history," he said.
Trump and his allies in Congress have dismissed the impeachment as a “sham” partisan exercise aimed at undoing the results of the 2016 presidential election. Trump says his July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was “perfect” when he asked the newly elected foreign leader to investigate the Bidens and the Democratic National Committee server.
Pelosi, however, said the facts of Trump’s wrongdoing involving Ukraine are “uncontested” and announced Thursday Democrats are plowing forward with drafting articles of impeachment against Trump.
“The president abused his power for his own personal political benefit at the expense of our national security,” Pelosi said.
Trump declined to have his lawyers participate in the House Judiciary Committee’s first impeachment hearing Wednesday when four legal scholars debated whether Trump’s conduct was impeachable.
Cipollone blasted the “baseless and highly partisan inquiry” in a letter Sunday declining to attend. The White House also accused the Judiciary Committee of “purposely” scheduling its first impeachment hearing when Trump would be meeting with NATO leaders in London and couldn’t attend.
At Wednesday’s hearing, the three lawyers the Democrats invited made the case that Trump’s efforts to pressure Ukraine for personal political purposes and his stonewalling of Congress are impeachable. The lone GOP witness, George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley, said Trump’s call was “anything but perfect” but said Democrats haven’t made the case.
“One can oppose President Trump’s policies or actions but still conclude that the current legal case for impeachment is not just woefully inadequate, but in some respects, dangerous, as the basis for the impeachment of an American president,” Turley said.
Nadler, D-NY, had set a deadline of 5 p.m Friday in a letter he penned to the president a week ago.
“I am writing to determine if your counsel will seek to exercise the specific privileges set forth in the Judiciary Committee’s Impeachment Procedures … and participate in the upcoming impeachment proceedings,” Nadler wrote in the Nov. 29 letter.
Nadler scheduled the next impeachment hearing for 9 a.m. on Monday, where lawyers for Democrats and Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee will present their evidence.

CNN actually challenged Nadler just a little, which surprised me (just a little) ...Nadler is gonna flounder badly chairing these judiciary hearings ...He wouldn't admit it, but I think he has every intention of draggin' up the obstruction allegations based on the Mueller report and rehashing the Russia shit going back to the 2016 election
He failed miserably in all that just before they started the impeachment inquiry, when I guess the dems just shut that useless shit down ...I think he'll wanna redo some of that in a pitiful attempt to redeem himself .. Only a few of the dems and media outlets are still stuck on the Russia crap ...people won't wanna hear all that shit for the umteenth time
.. He also accused Trump of *blackmail* in this segment ..a new one on me ..It's all for naught anyway .. Dems will impeach him despite the evidence (or lack thereof) and it'll go to the senate and maybe do more damage to the dems than they anticipate ... The IG report supposed to come out tomorrow too ... BTW, CNN ratings are at a 3 year low

so when you bring in a witness who says she hate trump so much she can't even walk past one of hotels without getting ill, it kind of ruins her credibility about being impartial.

It's kind of absurd for you to demand anyone cite where their info comes from, since you never do ...Anyway
The lady "law professor" the dems brought in to testify said she "had to cross the street" and couldn't walk past the Trump hotel ...I don't remember her sayin' it made her ill, only that "of course" she had to cross the street
It was on a clip from some stupid show she was on ...bragging of her hatred for Trump to appease her constituents ...Of course you wouldn't know about it, being you get all your info from the lamestream
