'Adiós Sinema': Voto Latino announces campaign to replace Arizona senator.
Voto Latino announced Monday evening that its launching a six-figure campaign to unseat and replace Arizona’s Kyrsten Sinema. The advocacy group says on the Adiós Sinema website that in siding with the Jim Crow filibuster over critical voting reforms, “Sinema’s actions directly undermine and suppress the right and wellbeing of Latinos that elected her into office.”
“Make no mistake: Senator Sinema owes her political career to Latino voters,” Voto Latino President María Teresa Kumar says at the website. “She clearly doesn’t understand that she can’t take that support for granted.
Grassroots Latino leaders in Arizona and in Washington repeatedly reached out to Senator Sinema and urged her to protect our constitutional right to cast a vote and have it count, but she refused. Now voters will have the last word.”
Kumar said the organization “did not make this decision lightly. We had conference calls and we spoke to individuals, we engaged and we engage with Senator Sinema. We are very clear on the day of the vote what we needed her to do.”
But as all know, she (along with West Virginia’s Joe Manchin) joined all Senate Republicans to kill critical voting legislation named after a civil rights icon she’s dared call her “hero.”
Kumar said Sinema “did not take seriously this idea that voting is the essence as the president said it`s the threshold of democracy, where millions of Arizonans and Latinos will be disenfranchised, millions of Americans across the country if we do not have fair, free elections at the federal level where everybody, regardless of party, are just playing by the same rules.”

Every CITIZEN has the right to vote already. Kumar must want illegals to have the same rights. Fuck her and her movement. |

| Sinema was elected to represent the interests of the people of Arizona, not to be a goose-stepping rubber stamp for the democrat party. People here love her for standing up to the fascist democrats. She's not going anywhere. |

Poll: Rep. Gallego would crush Sinema 74% to 16% in Dem primary.
Likely primary Democratic voters in Arizona give President Biden and Senator Mark Kelly high marks in the 80th percentile. Self-identified Democrats give both of them even higher marks in the 90th percentile.
19 percent favorable subtracted by a whopping 79 percent unfavorable comes to -57%. Out of the 19 percent favorable, only 7% identified as “very favorable.” This tracks similarly shows Sinema with an 8% favorability rating among Democrats. That’s lower than… well, just about everybody.
If the election was held today, her likely challenger, Representative Ruben Gallego, is poised to beat Sinema 74 — 16 percent.
Even that pathetic 16 percent is better than she is polling with likely voters statewide. Turns out that obstructing the Democratic agenda as a Democrat in a purple state maybe wasn’t the most savvy move the Party City candidate could have made. She is highly disliked by moderates, and absolutely hated by progressives that were key to her victory last
The top donors have already told her not to expect their help next time, and in fact, some have demanded she refund their contributions.

| Sinema doesn't give any fucks if she isn't re-elected.
She's sounding and behaving the opposite of positions she used to campaign with, which signals to anyone with a functional brain she's already secured prospects most probably either directly in an industry or as a lobbyist. She'll lose her front-row seat to the insider trading show but her actual paycheck will be substantially larger than the one she gets from congress.
She might even make a few dollars in "speaking fees" although I doubt she'll be able to cash in on those to the extent, say, Obama did. That's a difficult mark for anyone to hit since Obama was rewarded by wall street and banks themselves; you'd have to look pretty long and hard to find deeper pockets than those. |
